Royal Izakaya is a fun dining experience for sharing and trying many cool dishes. The Tuna guacamole was super fresh and their Chicken Katsu Sando was my favorite of the meal. The Duck was good, kinda like a cold cut platter but imo the Mustard was extremely overpowering. All affordable and inside a nice dining space, this spot is very legit and is worth the try.
Put your name down early and expect an hour + wait, but don’t give up the ship. Once seated, it’s worth the wait. Meal was impeccable. Hostess and waiter were both paid actors in a Miyazaki film. Sake had our whole group roaring laughing before the first app even hit the table. Recommend sharing as many small plates as you can muster and then ordering a few extras you don’t need, then splitting off and ordering individual sushi platters. Everyone left as happy sleepy kittens...
Amazing food, just don’t understand why they don’t have reservations for some of their seats, no one likes waiting an hour to get in, unless you get in right at opening. Doesn’t matter, weekend or weekday, if you don’t come at opening there’s a wait. It sure would be nice to come and get seated right away and not try and find something to do for an hour. You can always charge for no shows on opentable or resy then take whatever walkins.
