the bartender who looks like a failed impersonator of ray jackson from bloodsport is not someone who you want to represent your establishment. not only was he super rude it almost came off as completely racist. even the other bar patrons near me were weirded out by how ill-mannered he was. i’m someone in the industry to and love royal tavern so this is very disappointing.
We ordered two burgers well done for take out based on our previous experience. Previously the burgers were great, very tasty beef, cooked to perfection. One of the two burgers were undercooked even though I requested well done three times when ordering. These burgers had very little taste. Very disappointed .

Been here a couple of times since they reopened. I appreciate that they are trying with the vegan options and that they offer quite a few. Overall I would say it’s just OK, not incredible, the food is not as great as the old Royal, but it’s aight. I miss the old Royal. RIP (especially to the greatest juke box of old time, but also most especially to the tempeh club). but alas, everything changes.
Not good. A 2ounce Krabby Patty that comes with no fries you pay extra cost for the fires. Too much salt on the fries. This is why I do not like to eat at local restaurants in certain cities across the U.S. over priced kids size meal. First time having a meal here and I won’t go back. Cheers!

Recently went here for dinner with my gf. Hands down one of the best burgers in the city. Our bartender was this guy named Erik and he was the coolest dude ever. Probably the best bartender I’ve ever experienced in my life. Service was PHENOMENAL!! Definitely coming back soon. Run don’t walk. This place is super solid.

Solid pub, food is good, prices are in line with bars in center city Philadelphia. Burger is good, single patty is a bit small (to be expected). Wings were okay

This place is flat out awesome. It has an old fashioned vibe to the place with the wood bars and tables and the staff and atmosphere is very friendly. There is no doubt they have built a menu full of solid American cuisine options, but you can’t leave this place without trying their burger. It is phenomenal as advertised, just a bit smaller than I imagined. They had $5-6 beer options which is worth its weight in gold in Philly and the fries were also spectacular. 5/5 will be returning.

I hadn’t been here since the original closed. And man - did I miss it! Grabbed a dirty martini, Caesar salad, and fried fish sandwich (and added cheddar for my own personal joy) and shimmied the entire meal.
