Not sure what happened to this formerly delicious and special restaurant. Overall, our experience was here was lukewarm to poor. Menu size had been reduced leaving only 4 pasta entrees, 2 fish entrees, and 2 meat entrees. And , nothing exciting or inventive as in previous visits. My black squid ink pasta with lobster sounded good, but, had an added ingredient that threw off the taste of the entire dish. Not sure what it was since I found the dish inedible. Others went with the Rigatoni dish which was found to be excessive in its salt content. Drinks were good but service was inconsistent. Overall, not a great experience or a memorable time. Especially since we were celebrating my sister's birthday 😟. I hope this restaurant can get its act together or it's going to find itself out of business in a city like Philadelphia with so many stellar choices in its dining scene.

Good overall but a few things to call out. Menu has some delightful choices, both classic and innovative. Eggplant Popolo (?) was delicious as an appetizer. We chose pasta for our main but mine was delivered in a semi warm state, which affected my enjoyment of it. Desserts (chocolate) was yummy and just the right touch to finish. Service was very good but a bit spotty on attention; didn't refresh the cutlery after the appetizer course. I would go back but hope for a tighter experience.

Tried the short ribs and agnolotti for appetizers and both were very good. Would recommend the agnolotti. Both main courses were excellent. Scallops were perfect and the filet was cooked exactly as requested. Great service and a wonderful meal.

Every dish I received was delicious, however the experience was not so pleasant considering that a family came in with a 2 year old infant. Obviously not in my control. But I will definitely consider coming here again.

Dinner here feels special every time—the views of Rittenhouse Square are stunning and the pasta is just unforgettable. The service is attentive without being overbearing. Perfect for a date night or celebration.

The restaurant is beautiful for starters, super lowkey, dimly lit and great for a date night. The staff are friendly and easy to talk to also very knowledgeable about the menu. We had Daniela and Rhyen and they both were delightful. The bread basket was magical we wished the whole thing was full of the the Stromboli and the eggplant marinara? I think it was called was so good. Our second course the gnocchi in a Quattro formaggi were delicious and so light. Our third course the scallops were undercooked and smelled a bit fishy. We did end up letting our server know and she immediately took them off our check. The dessert was unbelievable, we ordered the chocolate cake it was so delicious. Overall we had a lovely experience, the scallops were a bit of a let down but other than that we will definitely be back, just won't order the scallops next time. Everything else was delicious, service was excellent and ambience was gorgeous. Will definitely be back.

We go to this restaurant every month or so. Service and food are always exceptional. My wife is gluten-free and the kitchen is always extremely accommodating (they even have gluten-free bread that they provide pre-meal).

A beautiful restaurant with stunning views so why on a Saturday night at prime time was it completely dead? Although the servers were very nice, service was quite slow and disjointed. Given that there were only 2 other tables in the entire restaurant, this was upsetting. It was hard to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere because it felt like a ghost town. The wine list is mediocre at best and the cocktails were blah. Menu selection is rather limited but some of the options were delicious. The bread basket is fantastic. The short rib app was delicious. The rest? Ehhh. The tomato pasta dish has changed for the worse. From what I remember it was incredible but this time, just so so. And the desert was awful. The tiramisu tasted like it came out of the freezer and it was dry as a bone. For $16 a desert, I expected much better. Needless to say, won't be back

The view of Rittenhouse Square is pretty and the food was good but the service was slow and inattentive.

Popped in by mistake, and it was a great mistake at that. Loved the bartender. Had really good music, but not too loud. It was happy hour. We had Hangar steak and fries, eggplant and some old fashions. All very good. Fries were in garlic and parmesan. Sooo good. Steak cooked perfectly. Chef comes out to serve the food. Really lovely. Thanks!

Scarpetta is great for some things. The octopus was awesome. Gorgeous atmosphere and excellent service. However—there was NOTHING about 75% of our meal that justified the price. $40 for spaghetti and meatballs? Three meatballs and a passable tomato sauce with average pasta. An arugula salad for $25? If you go I'd suggest going at happy hour. Otherwise it's not worth it. There are better Italian spots all over that take the same care with their food but don't charge you hotel restaurant prices.

Our server Sal was lovely and professional. He gave us so many recommendations and was patient with us. The entire meal was exceptional, and we will definitely return for more evenings both for cocktails downstairs at the bar and meals upstairs. Thank you!

Fantastic atmosphere, stunning views, staff was friendly and food was very good. Although we had no time constraints, the pace was a little too leisurely, with multiple waitpersons providing assistance, but I could have managed the journey better on my end. Everyone enjoyed their meals and food was very good, but not quite memorable, although the prices approached memorable. I have been there numerous times, and I would go back go back, but I am left wanting for a little more value for the money.
