We go to this restaurant every month or so. Service and food are always exceptional. My wife is gluten-free and the kitchen is always extremely accommodating (they even have gluten-free bread that they provide pre-meal).

A beautiful restaurant with stunning views so why on a Saturday night at prime time was it completely dead? Although the servers were very nice, service was quite slow and disjointed. Given that there were only 2 other tables in the entire restaurant, this was upsetting. It was hard to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere because it felt like a ghost town. The wine list is mediocre at best and the cocktails were blah. Menu selection is rather limited but some of the options were delicious. The bread basket is fantastic. The short rib app was delicious. The rest? Ehhh. The tomato pasta dish has changed for the worse. From what I remember it was incredible but this time, just so so. And the desert was awful. The tiramisu tasted like it came out of the freezer and it was dry as a bone. For $16 a desert, I expected much better. Needless to say, won't be back

The view of Rittenhouse Square is pretty and the food was good but the service was slow and inattentive.

Scarpetta is great for some things. The octopus was awesome. Gorgeous atmosphere and excellent service. However—there was NOTHING about 75% of our meal that justified the price. $40 for spaghetti and meatballs? Three meatballs and a passable tomato sauce with average pasta. An arugula salad for $25? If you go I'd suggest going at happy hour. Otherwise it's not worth it. There are better Italian spots all over that take the same care with their food but don't charge you hotel restaurant prices.

Our server Sal was lovely and professional. He gave us so many recommendations and was patient with us. The entire meal was exceptional, and we will definitely return for more evenings both for cocktails downstairs at the bar and meals upstairs. Thank you!

Fantastic atmosphere, stunning views, staff was friendly and food was very good. Although we had no time constraints, the pace was a little too leisurely, with multiple waitpersons providing assistance, but I could have managed the journey better on my end. Everyone enjoyed their meals and food was very good, but not quite memorable, although the prices approached memorable. I have been there numerous times, and I would go back go back, but I am left wanting for a little more value for the money.

Amazing, staff was so kind. Food was absolutely delish. It was nice to grab a drink ahead at the Rittenhouse bar too. So lovely

We visited this place in the evening with friends, and was an absolute nightmare. The drinks were mediocre at best, lacking any distinct taste. However, the primary reason for my one-star rating was the appalling service and terrible customer response. Despite the bar being nearly empty, we had to wait an eternity for our drinks. Additionally, they forced a mandatory 20% tip on our group of six, even though the service was painfully slow. As if that wasn't enough, an extra drink was mistakenly added to our tab, which we only noticed later. Despite numerous attempts to reach out to them throughout the week, including voicemails, we received no response. This is hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced in the Rittenhouse area. Avoid this place at all costs!

The quality of the food is quite high, but the place looks as if it opened in the 1990s and has not changed since. Loud acoustics worsened by Muzak. Service is quite pretentious, but haphazard. Wine selections are quite limited and mediocre. Come for the food and ignore the rest.

I loved the food and wine selections at Scarpetta. The staff seemed to know exactly when to check in on us.

Was here for Valentine's Day dinner. As advertised it was a fixed menu with limited choices. The appetizer course was quite good. The pasta course, the lobster was clearly frozen and tasteless. I had to return the first try because it was way too salty. The mushroom pasta was good. The main course, I saw the waiter bring it out as we were eating the pasta course and he made a U turn to return the dishes. When the dishes finally arrived the steak was cold from sitting (but the meat was tender). The scallops were just horrible. Smelled off and it looked boiled. Could not eat it. When the waiter took away the main dish he did not ask why the scallop dish was not even touched!? The dessert course was clearly not house made, a heavy hand scoop of cake and frozen cheesecake. Should have complained about the scallops but we had enough....not a good showing.

The service from our arrival to checking out was perfect. The food came on time and hot. We all loved the arugula salad. My husband had the strip and

Not sure what happened to this place. I've been a customer since the concept opened with Scott in NYC. This food last night in Philly had zero finesse, literally piles of crap on the top of the proteins, poorly sliced fish and water in the bottom of my lobster dish. Not recommended and light years from the original concept.

Always wonderful to have a seat overlooking Rittenhouse Square to go along with a great meal. The service, the seasonal vegetable salad, and the scallops were particularly notable.

Food was not cooked well at all.

- Pasta overcooked.
- salad was poorly prepared
