Schlesinger's is a Jewish Style Deli in Philly, missing the old-school diner smell but serving delicious food. The Ruben sandwich and chocolate egg cream are highly recommended, along with the Doris Ruben, which comes with a dill pickle and potato salad, making it a filling choice. While prices are on the higher side, the deli offers plenty of seating and a nice dining area. The staff is friendly and attentive, even during busy times. Although there have been some disappointments, such as a stale bagel and a pastrami sandwich with thin, fatty meat, the overall food quality remains good, especially the new pickles and the praised soup. The owner demonstrates a commitment to customer service, as seen when they personally delivered food to a customer. As a New Yorker, this deli meets the standards for a real delicatessen in Pennsylvania, making it a worthwhile visit for a meal or two.
