Amazing pastries and people!! Everything I’ve tried here is spectacular. The cookies, brownies, and galettes have all been flavorful and delicious. The owners and workers there are so kind and helpful. They are located on the fourth floor of Bok - take the central elevator up, take a left and walk all the way down.

Had a great time at Second Daughter when I was in Philadelphia.
You can believe all the positive reviews on their fantastic brownie: they are fully deserved.
The cake is the perfect mix of sponginess/chewiness and the chocolate taste is absolutely perfect: strong enough but not too dull either.
And as a cherry on the cake, depending on the amount of crust you want, you can choose which part of the cake your piece will come from : center, border, corner.
Add to that a friendly staff and a great location, it makes it worth the short wall in the neighborhood!

Seriously some of the best baked goods I've ever eaten! The strawberry galette/pie is seriously one of the best things I've eaten.

For mother's day/father's day we bought a cake as a gift to each other and it was moist and dense, while maintaining a perfect balance of sweetness and richness. We aren't even big cake people, but we've tried pretty much everything else from SD, so we figured we needed to try a cake. And needless to say, it was the best cake we've ever had. Also, we got the lavender thyme scones. They were light and airy and perfect! I truly believe this is the best bakery in Philly and we have a lot of fabulous bakeries around here!

I ordered a custom cake for my child's birthday party, and everyone was asking where it came from.

The crumb was so moist and perfect, and the chocolate was so rich and delicious it's almost obscene.
The icing was creamy and delicious, not overly sweet, usually I can take or leave cake, but this was incredible!

Every party has people who pass on cake, but once they heard the other party goers praises there was a slice in every hand ❤️

I visit their stand at the Tuesday Rittenhouse farmers market. The brownies are stellar! Today there was strawberry shortcake. I just ate half of it. It was so good!

Update: peach cobbler is phenomenal, as expected. Easily the best I've had. I've been to Second Daughter at least 4 times for different items and have been wow'd each time. Arguably the best bakery in Philly.The Brocky is outstanding. They scatter globs of their brown butter chocolate chip cookie dough on the brownie batter. The brownie is phenomenal on its own, but the cookie adds layers of brown sugary, buttery flavor and chewiness. They lightly sprinkle sea salt that creates bursts of sweet and salty bites. I can't imagine there is a better brookie in the region.

Absolutely amazing! Have been a customer for the past year and just recently trusted Second Daughter with our wedding desserts. We ordered small bites of four different items and every one was spectacular. We received so many complements from our guests. Rhonda was great to work with and even remembers me by name when I come to her stand at the Rittenhouse Farmer's Market. Would absolutely recommend!

The SmoBro is the best dessert I’ve ever had in my life. Everything else is really great too!

We had Second Daughter brownies, cookies, and Poptarts for our wedding reception. Everyone is still raving about them! Highly recommend.
