It’s located on the 4th floor of the Bok building limited sitting area but very cosy. The breakfast sandwich with sourdough focaccia and creamy egg was so good!
The staff were so kind as well. Will be back again to try other pastries and breads soon!

GOOD but expensive, so bring a friend to share.

FOOD
-breakfast sandwich: is massive and easily split for 2 people. Tasty, savory, and all forces locked. Decadent bacon, incredible bread, and ok eggs (they need to be cooked a tad longer). Delicious and a must get.
-galette: different options here. We got the cherry almond and loved it.
-brownie: these were a huge letdown. Very average tasting. Suggest passing on these (which is disappointing given they have so many options). The “best of Philly” brownie tasted straight out a Betty Crocker box.

Be cautious - some of the prices are highway robbery. $12 for a blueberry scone? Granted the breakfast sandwich was $14 but easily split between two people.

if you’re headed here from that tiktok about the best breakfast sandwich in philly don’t bother. 1. it’s super hard to find. 2. they don’t do any substitutions (can’t even make the sandwich without bacon). Yeah not everything is for everyone but does it kill you to take my money for the same price and keep your bacon? I wouldn’t have thought so, but alas here we are lol. The building it’s in is super cool and worth checking out other businesses. I’m sure they have other delicious things but i was on mission and i had even called before and no one picked up so i couldn’t even ask about the bacon thing before spending my morning trekking to get this “viral” sandwich. My bad for spending my week looking forward to this. don’t waste your time if your endgame is the sandwich and you don’t eat bacon. they want you to eat that bacon.

You can’t call yourself a baked goods fan if you haven’t been to second daughter. Head up to the fourth floor via elevator to find this quaint bake shop. There’s a good variety of savory and sweet items to choose from at a wide range of prices. Definitely recommend checking them out.

Second Daughter’s might be known for their brownies and cookies (and yes, they are fire), but don’t sleep on the savory side. The focaccia is pillowy and perfectly crisped on the edges, and the mushroom galette? Straight-up magicrich, earthy, and buttery in all the right ways and dont get me started on the quiche! Sweet or savory, they’ve got it dialed.

With just a 48-hour turnaround, they created the most gorgeous one-tier lavender vanilla cake adorned with fresh flowers. It was small but mighty—beautiful, decadent, and somehow fed 10 people! Everyone loved it. The flavor was soft, floral, and absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be ordering again. Thank you for such a stunning and tasty experience! My son and I picked the cake up and spilt the giant chocolate cookie and omg also divine it’s super cute inside the studio and there is a very gorgeous seating area .

Excellent bakery, but I have some suggestions to make it much more accessible to folks. I was very confused about this place for a long time. Several other people in the neighborhood I asked were also completely confused about this place.

1. Update the gmaps listing to make it clear this is on the 4th floor of the Bok building.

2. Add some photos to reinforce that the location is indoors, in a hallway, a converted classroom. Photos should also show the items you can buy without preordering.

3. Get some signage on the 1st floor, probably near machine shop, indicating there's another bakery upstairs. There's one tiny sign near the desk in the middle of floor 1, but otherwise it's pretty undiscoverable.

4. Update your website to make it clear you can buy things without preordering in advance. The site says you can do pickup at your location, but it implies in most places you need to preorder.

4. Fix the broken links to ordering pages that are dead. I thought this place must've gone out of business with all the dead links.

Rhonda and the team are top notch. My go to spot for any baked goods for all occasions. Recently I got a cake for my wife's birthday and they did an amazing job! If you're looking for a bakery, you need to call Second Daughter!

They know their pie pastry. It’s exquisite, flaky, chewy and crisp. And their brownies are pure chocolaty bliss. Can’t wait to try more.

Really tasty baked goods. I recommend the brown butter chocolate chip cookie and the focaccia.

Second Daughter pastries are so imaginative, savory and delicious. Their famous brownies and jawns are well known and incredible. But if you are a fan of Babka, you have to try what I believe to be the best and most unique Babka anywhere.
