Second District Brewing

The only reason I'm even giving this place 1 star is because the beer & food was great. Service was beyond awful, & that's an understatement. The bartender, Alex, said 3 words to us the entire time. My husband and I got one round of drinks & two sandwiches. We're pretty easy as we are in the same industry. I've been a bartender for 10+ years I wouldn't even act the way she did on my worst day. Won't be back.

Favorite local brewery in south philly. Food is great too! Beer selections change frequently so you can always try something new.

Really solid brewery. We came here for a midday drink to do some work on a Sunday and it was super quiet. The space itself isn't huge but there are plenty of tables and table options. Bathroom area is quite large. The draft menu is fine, always on the hunt for IPAs and the 6 feet below was much better than the hazy IPA (the latter of which I didn't care for). Service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Easy parking nearby and overall a very accessible experience. We didn't order food but those that did smelled tasty. I don't know that I would specifically come back for the beer but if you're looking for a place to hang out it's definitely a great option.

Really nice place close to my daughter's house. Good beers and food, nice atmosphere, and a friendly staff. Has vegan and vegetarian options on the menu, and prices are good. Check it out :)

Nice brewery

The beer is solid! I just wish they had more on the food menu. Not many items to pick from. When these guys first opened they had the best boneless chicken bites ever. I wish they would bring them back. Friendly service here always!

Chill local spot to get a few beers, some great food, and watch the game (or a movie marathon).

Beers were well made. We drank a variety of styles. Decor was nice. The bartender was pounding shots and messed up our order.

I had the Bancroft beer. It was a wonderful pale ale. Great mosaic flavour and really light alcohol for the amount of body and taste. Happy hour was very reasonably priced. I got the Smashburger, and as shown in the picture, it is a hamburger nicely dressed. I don’t think it’s quite fitting into the Smashburger category as Patty is just a bit too thick and not a ton of caramelization from the actual smashing I would totally try this place again especially happy hour. The bathroom is really nice and they did have a spot that they’re obviously letting people do the graffiti on which is the door so that people don’t tag up the walls.

Love this place. Great bar, good beer, and delicious and surprisingly affordable food. Only complaint: PLEASE bring back the vegan smash burger.

2D checks all the boxes. Excellent grub and super fresh suds to wash it all down. I can't wait to return.
