Brand new interior renovation! It is so bright, clean and spacious inside! I cannot say enough good things about the service, I wish I had gotten her name. She was super attentive and totally on the ball!! Great job! The food.. well, it’s one of the main reasons they’ve been in business for 40 years. It was PERFECT!! The sushi was extremely fresh and super tasty!! Excellent work!

The hard-core sushi combo contains too much wasabi, even overwhelming the flavor of raw urchin. Unagi Don is too salty. Fried tofu is good, banana tempura with ice cream is fantastic with complementary tea!

Awesome sushi experience at this restaurant. One member of my party was gluten free, and the server went through the menu in detail to find out exactly what they could and could not eat. Where possible, they were flexible and offered excellent substitutions. Such excellent service. Highly recommend this restaurant!

I've been in Philly for 6 years, and I am so mad at myself for not knowing about this place until very recently. It's a hidden local gem with very authentic Japanese food. Definitely recommend for those craving authentic experience.
We've been going here for almost 30 years. This is our go-to favorite meal out for birthdays, anniversaries, pre-performance, and just for a nice splurge (sushi isn't cheap!). Love the food and the people. Love the fact that it is kind of old school in that it is quiet enough to actually talk and hear.

I was so disappointed with my food order. I had the most amazing oyakodon dish last year and have been searching for a restaurant in Philly that made it. I was excited to finally order it after my first one months ago. Alas when it arrived it looked nothing like my previous dish (or the dishes on google images honestly in case my first and only experience was not the norm). This picture was after I rummaged around trying to find any trace of egg (which I did not, unless the small brown soft pieces were actually eggs). There was no creaminess or any flavor to it at all. I guess my search for delicious oyakodon continues.
