Smile Cafe is probably my favorite Thai restaurant in Philly. The food was amazing and very authentic, the service was attentive and sweet and the cafe was very intimate and relaxing. Perfect for a solo dining or a chill date night. Price was affordable!

You have to order two items for two people, the owner was a bit rude and intimidating, not a budget choice. also have to tip at least 18%. Bit of high end behavior for a low budget resturant.
For food, nothing is fried, everything is steamed, may not be a good choice if you are looking for fried squid or Tofu. Food portion was good, quality I would say average.
Owner also claimed they would charge me 15% extra as my order was below 30$, you would be better off choosing other options around if you are looking for a budget thai restuant.

The garlic chicken over rice was one of my favorite Thai meals I’ve ever had. It was really hard to enjoy though because the restaurants takeout plastic forks are so unfathomably useless.

Please, smile cafe, improve the quality of your takeout forks. I will eat the garlic chicken every day for the rest of my life

Best Thai food I’ve tried in Philly and friends agree. Definitely recommend! Go-to for takeout. Very friendly too.

The service was very nice and patient. Our active toddler broke one of the decorations and they were very kind about it.
The food was very tasty. We ordered Pad Thai, Thai Fried Rice and BBQ squid, and we left our plates spotless.

This is by far the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to! I’d rather drive into Philly than get Thai food in Delco any day. I have gone too many times to count and am always met with the best service and food! I recommend the calamari or squid appetizer. My go to entree is curry, but the crying fish, pineapple tilapia fish, and beef charcoal dishes are just as amazing (photos are green curry in front with crying fish in back and smile calamari)

A low-key and reliable hole-in-the-wall spot with great food.

Racism thrives here against African American.

On the day I arrived the lady had a terrible attitude and told me they were not serving blacks after just accompanying 2 asian guests. It’s unfortunate and not rare to experience racism in the Philadelphia dining scene.

Such a homey feel. Food is amazing and staff is accommodating in terms of adding and taking out ingredients. Made so many connections here with both staff and patrons. I talked about my travels to Thailand and the staff listened in on it and I was also able to give others travel advice as well.
