It's almost funny how badly they made this bagel. Was this deliberate? Was I supposed to tip?

They made both items in my order wrong and then pretended to remake one and gave it back to me. The issue with the one they gave back to me was that they toasted the bagel when I asked for it not toasted. I didnt realize they gave me the same one back because it felt cold, so I assumed it was a new bagel; it wasn't, they let the toasted one get cold and disgusting and gave it back to me. What a waste of money and GAS cause I drove out of my way to try this place again. They used to be good but it seems like the company doesn't care about quality control at all anymore. This isn't my only bad experience here but it will surely be my last. I don't recommend going here. There are many other bagel places with more integrity and faster service.

Food is good but not worth waiting for it in line for pickup only to be told I could’ve gone and picked it up at the counter. There’s no sign and orders are kept below eye level, so unless you’ve been there before I guess I’m supposed to be a mind reader. Also no one was manning the counter or the register anyway despite it being a busy Sunday morning. When one person has to step away to make a drink or something another person should take their place when there’s a line out the door. Also just rude little penn students everywhere but that’s not their fault.

Don't get the salted egg bagel. It's too salty. Don't get the nova salmon cream cheese. I can't imagine it tasting good in large amounts with any bagel. The cream cheeses are whipped. This would be good on an open-face bagel, but it's bad in a bagel sandwich because of how easily it squeezes out every time you take a bite.

Really terrific bagels. If they’d only cook their eggs apart from the meat, it sure would make this old vegetarian happier.

2 Saturdays in a row at 8:30 Am, no plain bagels are available for walk-in customers. They are being held for catering orders. Poor management of this location. How does a Bagelry run out of plain bagels?

I went in and got carry out from this location. Very casual place in a college town area. The service was good, but employees were definitely distracted talking to each other. I ordered the Philly Special sandwich on a rosemary bagel. It tasted good. The bagel was a good texture. I just don't know that it was worth $13. Maybe like $8. I took off so many stars because I just don't think the price matches the value on this place.

Waited over an hour for my sandwich, and I ordered it online. Went here the next day for a bagel with lox, it wasn't great. Next time I guess I'm going to go with a simple bagel with cream cheese and see what happens. I wish I could have gone somewhere else for breakfast when I was visiting Philly.

A pretty nice place to grab a nice bagel and some coffee. I got the egg white bagel and it was pretty good. Huge portion! The prices were reasonable. Service was pretty good, besides nearly forgetting my coffee :(. The coffee was not as good as imagined, but it was not too bad.

Egg white, cheese, turkey bacon, mushrooms, and spinach on everything bagel. Delicious; bagel was a touch over toasted/hard but good. Also had a delicious iced Dirty Chai Latte.*Edit: came back, got an iced Americano and the Carnegie...pastrami, egg, & swiss. Very good again, toasted perfectly!!

I always stop by for a bagel when I'm in the area. They're always really friendly and have quick service. The bagels are great and the cream cheese ratio is ideal. I love sitting in the back area, with its cozy feel.

I eat at Spread fairly regularly since it's close to my job. Out of the two locations I frequent (Chestnut and Walnut near University City), this location is remarkably bad at being consistent. For example, today I asked for extra bacon on my sandwich, and instead recieved none. This is a common issue both with their online ordering system and orders at the counter! And only at this location! So if you ask for something else on your sandwich, honestly, it's 50/50 whether you'll get it. There are a few employees here I like to see, but otherwise the rest seem like they aren't paid enough or are overworked enough here to not care about how they serve the food. Also noteworthy is pickup order foof safety. The bagels, if toasted, are hot and then set onto a marble counter which saps the heat right out of them. That's concerning when you have cooked eggs or meat on your sandwich along with any cheese. And the layout of this location leaves their entrance congested with people all the time. But the reason after a few months of buying here I'm finally giving them a two star review is the really remarkable level of mistakes that get made on your order, even when it's just the one sandwich. Ridiculous when the orders are prepaid, and with such long lines for this location, I'm sure almost no one gets any recourse becauce they need to get to work or to class. I'll instead go to 2401 Walnut before I go back here any time soon for my bagel fix.

I ordered simple bagel without onion, waited for it 20+ min and received it with onion. After they told that no bafles are left , only onion and choco chips. That ignored me until I started arguing. And only after this made refund.I spend there over 30 min to receive nothing.

The rosemary olive oil bagel was too salty for my taste. Also it was hard as a rock. I never had a Montreal style bagel before so not sure if that’s how they’re supposed to be. I only ate half of it - I did not like it. Veggie cream cheese and pistachio honey cream cheese were really tasty. Iced coffee and iced latte were okay. The price and 30+ minute wait time for two coffees and two bagels with cream cheese was insane to me. If I ever return, big if, I’ll be doing a pick up order.
