I’m writing this review due to a serious food safety issue from our visit on November 13th at 9 PM. We were a table of two and ordered the seared scallop & caviar, two NY strip steaks (medium rare), a mushroom side dish, one glass of wine, and one cocktail.
A few hours after the meal, my friend became violently sick with vomiting, chills, and diarrhea. About 24 hours later, I experienced the exact same symptoms. We hadn’t eaten anything else together before or after this dinner, so the timing is extremely concerning.
We also called the restaurant to report the incident and someone followed up once, but afterward no one responded or addressed the issue further. This experience was alarming and disappointing, and I hope management conducts a proper investigation to prevent this from happening to others.
Excellent service but the food was very mediocre especially for the price point. Nothing memorable on the menu.
Good and expensive steak place. Don't bother going if you do not want steak. Service was excellent. Food was very good. Atmosphere elegant. Only annoying thing was the upselling characteristic of Maestros.

Not sure why I haven’t left a review already, considering this was my 5th or so dining experience at Steak 48. Our first time, was without a doubt the best experience we ever had, which is what kept bringing us back. The ambiance, the service, the food, the drinks, everything about it was amazing. The next few times we returned we were seated in the bar/lounge area which is very nice but a little more busy than we prefer. For this last time, I requested a more private area like we had our on first visit. Unfortunately the upstairs was closed, but our server, Em, went above and beyond to make our visit excellent. When we finished, she took us on a tour of the restaurant and explained what each area offers and we located our favorite table, which is now on file for when we return. The food was outstanding, as always. The service continues to set the bar, with a call the next morning to ensure we had a great experience. We will definitely be back for future celebrations, as it’s our favorite steakhouse, no questions asked. We will be at OUR table, and will be requesting EM! 10/10 experience, every single time.
*it doesn’t take much but when you listen and pay attention to things, you can make the biggest difference for someone. Em, thank you for taking the time to listen to us and prioritize our comfortability for the next time. We will 100% be be back.*

Food was great . Cassidy was a great server. We will definitely be back . Filet was delicious. .
Best steakhouse I've ever visited and best food eaten. Ambience was magnificent with a great score of music ranging from holidays, 80's, and jazz. Oysters were sourced from prime locations and presentation was outstanding! Most original Caesar salad with a divine taste! Steaks, fish, and scallops were cooked to perfection. Cocktails were top notch! Sides were aromatic, hearty, and rich in flavor. Our dessert was a sweet ending to a wonderful dining experience. Most of all the service by Larry was attentive and personalized. He explained everything on the menu like a great study of the culinary arts. While gratuity was included he deservedly earned more and made it a point to emphasize the included gratuity. He wasn't about the profit - he was invested in your experience. Cheers to a fine culinary experience for which we will gladly return!
Bad music. High tops are not good and I don't recommend. They are small. The music was strange. Christmas music, then 80s pop, then Bruno Mars. The food is really good, but for the price point, I would expect the other things in to fall in line as well. Also, the table to forever to be bussed after our appetizers.
Date night meal for Two. Both of us love steak, we both ordered the 8oz fillet. Both of them came out as requested and were both absolutely delicious. Also had parm covered asparagus. Meal and service was fantastic
I did not appreciate receiving a call the day before our dining reservation informing us of Steak 48’s dress code requirements, specifically that no athletic attire was permitted. However, while waiting for our server, we observed the majority of the guests dressed in sports and athletic gear. It was frustrating and offensive to be contacted about a policy that the restaurant itself did not enforce.
When we mentioned the call to the GM on duty, he downplayed the issue rather than acknowledging the inconsistency. This completely diminished our experience and overshadowed our special occasion. Unfortunately, we will not be dining at Steak 48 in Philadelphia again.

Steak 48 is a MUST BOOK for your upcoming special occasion. Everything from the environment to the service was superb, and the food was absolute perfection. Our server, Manny, was wonderful and very attentive, and he made our special occasion extra special. We will absolutely be returning!
Our first time at Steak 48 was amazing! The food, the atmosphere, the service all amazing. I also appreciated the follow up call the next day.
Server ignored us several times . They automatically add the tip even with below average service. Server made some weird joke about smoking crack when he served up the cream corn. Never kept our glass filled and kept having to apologize about how long everything was taking. Not worth the price at all

Steak 48 delivered one of the best dining experiences I’ve had, especially with a larger group. We came in with a party of 10+ and the service was absolutely exceptional—organized, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Managing a group that size is no small task, and they handled it flawlessly.
The environment itself is fantastic: upscale without feeling stuffy, lively without being loud. It sets the tone for a great night out.
As for the food, almost everything was top notch. The only miss was the filet mignon, which wasn’t cooked quite as well as expected. Still, every other dish sides, appetizers, and desserts hit the mark and helped round out an otherwise outstanding meal.
Overall, Steak 48 is a strong choice for both intimate dinners and large groups, with standout service and an atmosphere that elevates the whole experience. I’d happily return.
