I always get my cheesesteak in this location every time I visit Philly, regardless how far I am. When I read the recent reviews I had doubts, I thought it’s possible that with inflation the quantity of meat went down. But honestly it is hard to understand people who claim that they get only a few stripes of steak. My sandwich was loaded with steak, more than enough. And yes if you want more of anything you have to pay extra. It is already hard for business owners to keep rising the prices when the cost of every single ingredient keeps going up. You can witness it every time you go for grocery shopping. As always, I was very happy with quick and friendly service and without doubt the best cheesesteak I’ve had anywhere.

Steve’s is still a solid tasting steak, I am reducing my review to 3 stars however as other competitors have emerged with better cheesesteaks and more importantly, the $15 base charge for a steak here is literally one slice of steak for each part of your sandwich, that’s it.
I feel like they need to give you way more meat with the $15 base and maybe bump it to $17 if they need to but I can’t recommend Steve’s as the top dog anymore when there are better options and they skimp so badly on meat.
Having lived in Philadelphia my entire life and trying many cheesesteaks, I really still hold firm that Steves is the best. They are a bit pricey and light on meat so ordering double meat is the way to go if you are looking for the best tasting steak you can get, just be warned itll set you back close to $22.00.
I typically order whiz, without and add pepperoni in there for good measure. Happy steak eating friends.
Loved by locals and tourists for good reason. 20+ years eating here and I still crave it regularly! Shout out to Gene and the team for grade A service - appreciate you guys!

Place is really going down hill ,barely any steak on the roll n the workers are really ignorant n think their shit don't stink,I will take my business elsewhere where they appreciate it!

Good steak. Not chopped which was a nice change. Could really taste the flavor of the steak. Fresh roll stayed dry with wiz placed on top.

I've been to Philly a lot, and thought I knew more than the average schmo about cheese steak, but I've always seen it chopped up on the flat top into a mince and served from there. Not here; they grill every slice of meat individually, then stack it up on the roll. The attention to detail makes for an incredible bite. This is top tier.
