food was fantastic! definitely order from here for takeout. the dine in experience was a bit strange- no plates or glasses of water, just everything in to go packaging brought to the table. not particularly unpleasant, just kind of odd. again, food was great snd the prices were even better, will be ordering takeout from here in the future.
Got right in, ordered some great sushi. Hard working employees that made everything with quality in mind. Would recommend 100%

Really enjoyed my lunch at Sumo Sushi! I ordered the 3-roll lunch special to-go, which is such a great deal for the price. I went with shrimp tempura, yellowtail, and spicy tuna, and all three were delicious. The shrimp tempura had a nice crunch, the yellowtail was super fresh, and the spicy tuna had just the right amount of heat. It also came with delicious miso soup. I will definitely be ordering from here again!

Very high quality sushi (trust, I am picky about fish) for a very affordable price! Tried this on a whim because it's near work and my train so it was very convenient for me, and I'm happy to have found a favorite. I just like my sushi simple and they do simple extremely well. A new fave I'm glad stumbled upon on my walk!!
Also, the staff are very nice and efficient as well. Nice neighborhood area too!

Sumo Sushi has been my favorite sushi spot in philly since i moved there in 2010. At that time they had a beautiful sit down resturant , which is unfortunatly no longer, but there is still a table you can sit at and order takeout. Its exclusivly take out style now having hone a few weeks ago and im happy to say the quality hasnt suffered.
The sushi is still top notch and they have a roll there i think is to die for called the yellowtail crunch roll! It is spicy yellowtail with raw crunchy apples which is truly a delightful flavor pairing.
They also have maintianed a VERY affordable lunch special

My fav take out sushi spot on the area!
Great place. The Home Run roll is highly recommended. Mango in a sushi roll is highly suggested.

Look at the tiny amount of crab you get with a “California” roll. There’s little to none. It’s pretty much an avocado roll
I'm a regular customer and mostly I order online. Usually the food is good but I have to admit that the food was unfresh few times before. I didn't do anything about it because I didn't want to be mean. However, today my patience run out. I ordered dragon and eel avocado rolls and unfortunately, again rice was old. The worst part was a shrimp tempura which was fried in an old oil and I don't know even when. I couldn't even finish eating, I just trashed the food. Hopefully, I won't get sick. It's nasty, you don't treat your faithful customers like that.

Went there based on other great reviews. Food was fresh and timely. Large portions. Value for 1 roll, 2 two piece sushi and shrimp tempura (4 large shrimp)…. 40$.
Only sort of weird thing really not set up for in person dining. Only have takeout containers and bottled water for dine in.

I've been ordering sushi from this place for almost a year: without exception food is always amazing. Fish is always fresh, no funky smells, rice cooked perfectly (I am half korean myself so I know few things about rice), the cut of sushi is so esthetically pleasing it almost feels you are eating from the Michelin star restaurant). I recently ordered dinner for 8 and was absolutely blown away by quality and freshness of the food (not just sushi, but salads, shredded radish etc). Highly recommend!
