One of my favorite omakase spots in Philly!
My favorite from my course was Gindara(miso cod) with pumpkin sauce which tasted like Japanese pumpkin and they matched so well, also the akami (tuna red meat) tasted super fresh! Every other fish were fresh and loved the way they prepared everything! Chefs were also very nice and fun to chat with!

The overall experience was 5 except my seating. I arrived on time and the host was unwilling to move me closer to the Chef! Which is part of the experience. The quality of sushi and execution was spot on! Super cool vibe and met a new fun couple- it really made it a fun experience. Anthony was very attentive and his interaction lended to an overall super night. I will be coming back and have already recommended to many of my friends. Thanks for a terrific evening!

I had a wonderful time last month at sushi by bou. The courses are decently paced and you can take a break as needed. It’s a one hour experience but each piece is delicately made and if you come in a group, they accommodate and time it well. Midway we got a surprise sale shot which was absolutely delicious and meshes well with the wagyu we had. The chef, Mitsu, was also wonderful, he was super friendly, helpful and even customized a few hand rolls for us based on our likes! Everything was pretty fresh and the yuzu honeybee cocktail was soo good! I’m also not a huge ikura fan but it was so citrusy and fresh, that you didn’t have an aftertaste! Can’t wait to come back again, after visiting the NYC and Philly locations, I’m glad they’re very accessible and worth the price!

I finally got to try omakase and it did not disappoint! The food was so fresh (even the ginger and seaweed wraps were so good), delicious combinations, and overall a truly enjoyable experience. I loved how the itamae explained the food and interacted with everyone. Also watching them make everything was also fun and part of the experience. For the reviews that said they felt rushed, read before you go it’s clearly stated this is a ONE hour experience. If you want longer go somewhere else.
Dietary restrictions: They were extremely mindful of allergies from start to end. I’m gluten free and felt completely taken care of.

Omikase was delicious, freshest of fish. My only complaint is that is a little too fast. Great value thought. Very affordable for super quality fish and preparation
Parking: Easy inexpensive lot and often street parking

Me and my fiancée came for the first time and we are already booking our second experience. We loved the atmosphere, the music, and fun that the Itamae were having with us. Every bite was sensational and I love the explanation. The specialty mocktail and cocktails were also 10/10 and our server was the sweetest and had the nicest singong voice
Dietary restrictions: They do their best to make sure dietary needs are met

Such an amazing experience! I have been to the izakaya resturant part before and had a wonderful meal so I wanted to try the omakase. Been to a few omakase places in Philly and NYC. First time trying sushi by bou and it did not disappoint. It's more of a hip vibe compared to other places I've been before, but amazing in a differnt way. However, the sushi blew me away and that's what matters! Everything was so simple, delicious and you can just taste the flavor of every piece of fish you have. The chef was very nice and also gave everyone a shot for cheers.

The experience overall was great! This 12 course Omakase was super fresh and delicious! Chef Mitsu was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained each piece to us with such enthusiasm. The ambiance was relaxing and fun. Loved the hip hop themes with graffiti all over the walls and the music was everything!
I will definitely be coming back!

Sushi by Bou in Fishtown offers a truly unique dining experience. From the speakeasy-style entrance to the hip-hop beats playing in the background, the vibe is just as incredible as the food. I enjoyed their 12-course omakase, which was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared right in front of me. It’s perfect for a date night or anyone looking for something special in Philly. I especially loved the Philly-themed touches throughout the space—such a cool nod to the local culture! Highly recommend checking this hidden gem out!

I have sat in plenty of omakase experiences and this could be best explained as the speed dating of sushi. I didn’t really know what I was eating, I could hardly hear the chefs over the abysmally awfully loud music and the ambiance was rough on the eyes.
To be clear, the fish was fresh and delicious. The speed was so rapid that I felt like I couldn’t explore the complexities that were involved in the careful making of the sushi pieces.
The service was some of the worst I have experienced. Allergies were rushed through (even though we stated them on the reservation request) and had I not asked for an explanation of what allergies we should be aware of - I would have ended up with an item that could have made me very ill.
Lastly, placing sake shots in front of everyone was frustrating for me as a non-drinker. I felt excluded from a group cheers and couldn’t raise my water glass because that was empty for most of my experience.
I can see what they're trying to do here and I commend the attempt. I am happy to see many people enjoy themselves!

Awesome low key trendy omakase, chefs and sushi were amazing! Food was ?, we pretty much ordered another omakase with additions because everything was so mouthwatering delicious & fresh. Each piece got better and better.
Entrance is in the back of an existing restaurant, the minute you walk through the back it’s such a cool low key vibe. Chef Mitsutaka and his team know how to bring out the flavors of each piece of fish.
Excellent drinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic).
We can’t wait to go back!
