I’ve been eating Indian food for years, and this was the absolute WORST butter chicken I’ve ever had — sickeningly sweet and completely wrong. My rice had a strong clove smell! I wasn’t even comfortable eating it! I did however dab my finger to taste the sauce—at that point, I instantly knew it wasn’t what I wanted nor was used to. The place was unbearably hot with zero air conditioning or fan, but I gave it a shot because I live nearby and wanted some decent Indian food.
When I asked for a refund at Sweets & Curry House, the owner lost it. He yelled, refused to give me my money back, and said he’d remake the dish. I told him I didn’t want to eat there—I wanted my MONEY BACK. Instead of doing so, he got aggressive, called me an idiot, questioned if I even knew what butter chicken was, and had the audacity to say “we’re in America” like that excuses refusing refunds.
The whole interaction was disgusting and rude. After a terrible argument, I finally got my money back, but I will NEVER go back or recommend Sweets & Curry House to anyone. Save yourself the headache!

Ordered the chicken tikka shashlik and onion pakora. Overall very delicious as expected from Indian cuisine. Food was brought out in a reasonable amount of time. The only con is the tap water in Philly isn’t advisable to drink, so bottled water was provided. However bottled water cost money. Relatively in a good location and easy to access by walking.

If you’re south eastern Asian looking for authentic cuisine this is not where you want to spend your money. I’ve had my fair share of really bad south eastern cuisine and this tops it all. Idk how this place has thrived for so long but they need rework the menu or close.

I ordered the veggie samosas + chicken karahi. Everything was delicious and service was great
Buffet food was authentic Desi food, all the dishes were top-tier. Desserts were also nice and warm in syrup. Owner is also very kind and served us.

Butter chicken was so bright & sweet. Palak paneer was sweet. Roti was undercooked and unlike any roti I’ve ever had. Not for me
Recently ordered from this restaurant . Food was half cooked .had to trash most of my food due to quality. Avoid this place if possible.
