I am so happy that I stumbled upon this bagel shop! As soon as I walked in I was greeted with amazing energy from the owner and his lovely wife (who makes THE MOST AMAZING tiramisu)! I did not know a bagel could taste this good and their cream cheese is phenomenal, I wholeheartedly believe this place needs to be talked about way more and they are truly deserving of all the praise they are receiving! Stop in and check them out :)

The woman who helped me was very kind. I definitely recommend. I ordered a falafel sandwich with a side of French fries and a baklova (sorry if the spelling is wrong). Big portions and I was definitely full.

I’ve had bagels from Talia’s before. They’re good. Not so good to justify rude customer service. Today I went into to the store to buy a bagel and the owner (only man working) absolutely berated a non-English speaking customer for “not tucking his chair back in while waiting for his order”. Meanwhile there were only 2 other people in the store, including me. It was so disrespectful and jarring, it was enough for me walk out without buying anything. Immediately decided to stop supporting Talia’s.
In the current political state we live in, witnessing such utter disrespect shown to someone who not only supported your business, but is a member of our Philly community is so beyond abhorrent. I hope you learn from this occasion and show some respect to the patrons who support you, or you’ll continue to lose customers. Do better.

We stopped in on a whim and our first experience has easily made us customers for life! The food was great, service was super fast, and the woman taking our order was so genuinely kind and friendly. My breakfast sandwich was fantastic and the tiramisu was superb!!! Will be coming back again very soon.

Some of the best bagels I’ve had in Philly / closest to New York style. The owners were so amazing too! Can’t wait to go back

I don’t write reviews often, this guy is serious about his craft. Great bagels, especially if you’re from the north east. Good stuff.

The owner was super pleasant to talk to. Probably my new go-to spot for a hot black coffee and fresh, well-made bagels & falafel.

Multiple hairs in bagel & aggressive customer service where they leave a voicemail on your PERSONAL phone to scream at you (video attached). They must be one of those businesses that ask for good reviews in exchange for free food bc these reviews on Google & TT don’t line up.
Owner was upset that I left an honest review after he gave me a refund-he really thought he could hide a public health issue with a refund? Customer service IS NOT quid per quo.
A friend and I came here Sat 12/20 around 10AM. After scrapping heaps of salt off and eating 1/2 of my $7.25 (!!) salt bagel w/ basic sun-dried tomato cream cheese, I noticed MULTIPLE hairs on the last half of the bagel. You can see in the pics that they’re scattered on top/in the bagel & charred into it
I called them and he said he couldn’t do a refund via card and I would have to come back in person. He probably said 10 times “don’t leave a review!” & I didn’t at first bc I thought we would resolve everything. As a child of an immigrant with a small business, I truly don’t like to leave bad reviews for fellow ethnic small businesses.
I go to the store later and he rips the receipt and bagel (brought for physical proof) from my hand and yelled that I “ate the whole thing”. Sir, I didn’t see the hairs until I saw the other half…WHO in their right mind would eat 1/2 a bagel while KNOWING there are burnt hairs on there? I wanted to vomit after I saw the other half. He didn’t even have the decency to refund both bagels we got (my friend literally threw hers away after seeing the hairs in mine)…and on top of that, he kept yelling and waving his finger at me to “not leave a review!” Before I left.
Mistakes happen but they need to be dealt with responsibly…and without harassing customers on their voicemail
