The location & vibe is so Philly you want to run the Rocky steps afterwards. Service is solid. The cheesesteak is delicious and you get bang for your buck. What makes this jawn different is the bar. Great move to combine the two. Adult beverages with a cheesesteak. I've visited a few times and they never disappoint. If you're in the area you have to try this place out.

I ordered the oxtail cheesesteak, oxtail loaded fries, and vegetable cheese fries. Everything was delicious. Flavor-wise, they really delivered.
However, the oxtail cheesesteak sent me straight to the bathroom (if you know what I mean), and the oxtail loaded fries did the same to my child. I’m not sure what caused that, but it was definitely worth mentioning. On the bright side, the next day I reheated the vegetable cheese fries and they were amazing...rich, melty, and no unpleasant aftereffects at all.
As for the experience, I ordered using the kiosk, which was clean and seemed to be running efficiently. I waited about 30 minutes for my food before leaving.
Overall, I’m on the fence about returning. The food tasted great, but the digestive aftermath makes me unsure. If I do come back, I’d probably stick to the veggie options

Jerk Chicken cheesesteak is BUSSIN!!! I’ve been there, when there is a wait & when there isn’t a wait time. The wait is worth it. The fries are good too. Drinks are good. Music is good, love me a hood jam. This place is definitely for the culture 👍🏾

A solid cheesesteak, but $18 is unjustifiable

What a gem from start to end and not to far from the Sonesta! Came during happy hour and great happy hour prices and good drinks. The music was a vibe and set a chill atmosphere. Now let's talk food... YUM. The jerk chicken egg rolls weren't available but I ordered the chicken egg rolls and they were BOMB. Chicken very seasoned, the cheese didn't make the eggroll wet, and the crisp of the eggroll was on point. My coworkers ordered sandwiches which were big and cheesesteak fries and they really enjoyed! Definitely will be back before I leave my conference. A very unexpected delight.

Yesterday evening around 7-8 pm my husband went in to Taste to place our order using the kiosk. When he entered he greeted the woman at the bar and received no response. He then proceeded to continue with the order but accidentally forgot to remove onions and peppers from the cheesesteak since orders are not allowed to be taken at the bar unless you’re paying with cash. When he noticed the mistake he politely brought it to the woman’s attention after paying for the food. Her response was rude and dismissive and she stated “Oh, well we are not making another one!” My husband left the food on the counter and began to walk out to avoid any further negativity. As he was leaving she yelled after him asking if he no longer wanted it. He was extremely disappointed by the customer service and chose not to engage further. My husband was so over it that he didn’t even bother to ask for a refund! He also did not mention that the fries were overcooked because he simply wanted the mistake corrected and even paying for a new one wouldn’t have been an issue had she said that! He paid his money and left with nothing! I have met the owner previously and he is very kind and welcoming but unfortunately the staff did not reflect that same level of professionalism and they were not welcoming. Customer service is a major part of the experience, especially in hospitality, it’s not up for debate! Word of advice to this woman, because we are all human, but if your tired, overwhelmed, sad or angry then take a few minutes and step off the floor! Call out of work if you need too! If this is a everyday issue from you then choose a new career! Based on this experience we will not be returning!

My experience at Taste Cheesesteak in Philadelphia was so bad that I will never return, and I strongly warn others to think twice before going. At around 6:20 p.m. today, my group came in specifically to sit down and eat inside the restaurant. We followed instructions and ordered our food on the kiosk like we were told, expecting a normal dine-in experience.Once we received our food and sat down, a short Black female worker came over and told us we could not stay and basically kicked us out of the store. There was no clear explanation, no apology, and no attempt to handle the situation professionally. We were forced to pick up our food and leave, and we ended up eating in the car like we had done something wrong just for wanting to sit and eat. What made it even worse was that there were other customers with carry-out orders who were allowed to sit at the bar and at another table, eating their food with no problem. The inconsistency and unfairness were obvious. It felt targeted, embarrassing, and completely disheartening to be treated that way while others were allowed to stay. This place showed absolutely no respect for paying customers. The service was rude, unwelcoming, and completely lacking in basic hospitality. If you want to enjoy your food without being singled out, embarrassed, or kicked out after you’ve already paid, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Cheesesteaks, great! Fries, overcooked. Nonalcoholic drinks, HIGHWAY ROBBERY! $3.50 for a can of SPRITE? You must be joking, and to bring the can to the table was crazier! The lemonade was Country Time powder mix most likely and it was also $3.50 for a 12 oz cup filled with ice, so about 6/7 ounces of the “drink”. The atmosphere is cool, however the music is so loud you can’t hear yourself think. It’s cool to have the music loud enough to fill the space without it making you feel deaf afterward. The service was great though, very nice! Not worth mandatory 18% gratuity on a Sunday night for three people though.

The best salmon cheesesteak I've ever had hands down, I've been here over 10 times and the quality hasn't changed since day 1. The bread is fresh, they give you a lot of meat it's 10/10.

The best and biggest cheesesteak I got in Philly. Everything about it was perfect, and the fries were some of the best I've ever had, so fresh and tasty! 🤤 My server, I didn't get her name, but she was quite attentive, asking me was I ok multiple times, that's good service. She's very beautiful too lol, anyway I'll be back in the future. 😎
