Definitely recommend...this place is awesome!
Just had my rehearsal dinner there. The hospitality, the small lovely touches like our names on the chalk board and flowers on the tables, the high quality of the food, the amazing service made the small event a fun, and rousing success.

I’m sure the food is good but we never got the chance. Walked in and were met right away as there was no one waiting. A nice couple at the bar moved over to make room for us but before we could sit down the host found another couple and gave our spot away saying we could wait longer. Never experienced this before. Incredibly rude. Not worth trying again

Really quaint, historic place full of charm. This was my second time eating here. The food was delicious and a really varied
menu.. hard to choose. I love the dark lighting. It really adds to the atmosphere.
Love Tavern on the Hill!

The last 2 weeks in August I feel are a great time to check out eateries that have been on your mind but may be overly crowded the rest of the year.
A sunny 84 degree Saturday in Chestnut Hill was the perfect backdrop for walking the cobblestone lined stretch of Germantown Avenue and checking out posh shops and great eateries like Tavern on the Hill.
Shawn was behind the bar and greeted us warmly. There were only 2 other patrons in the establishment that were on their way out.
The cool dimly lit interior was a welcomed contrast from the sunny summer day. We were escorted to our table by a nice gentleman (I'm sorry, I do not remember his name) who pointed out the specials on the board. One of those specials was the Southwestern Soup (pictured)...absolutely delightful!
We also ordered a cheesesteak w/provolone (lol that person isn't from Philly), Buffalo wings and coconut shrimp. Everyone really njoyed their food. I would definitely recommend paying this quaint Tavern a visit.

Got a sampling of a lot of things and it was a mixed bag.
The crab soup was bland but the chili was good. The mushroom fries had good flavor but the wings were cooked too much. The roast beef sandwich was good but the turkey were bland.
A little costly for the amount of food we got.

My husband and I were in town for a festival and I picked up a burger and fries for the road home. My husband said the food was amazing, and the service was friendly. Would definitely visit again if we come back in town!

Nice authentic Irish pub in Chestnut Hill. Classic cornbeef and cabbage with a pint of Guiness.
