Disturbingly overpriced. I hardly leave reviews, let alone bad ones, but I live right down the street and I’d like to see this place get better.Food and bagels are alright. Service is good. Which is all fine, but for the ridiculous prices they charge, you would expect better. Expect to spend $22+ for 2 mediocre bacon eggs and cheese sandwiches ?♂️

Born and raised in New York, I've eaten my share of bagels over the years. These are the best bagels I've had, and my brunch guests agreed. We did a takeout order for a combo of plain, egg and everything bagels plus their plain cream cheese spread. The flavor and texture of the bagels were perfect. The bagels had a light crispness with hints of sweetness vs sourness. There was none of the chewiness and dryness you expect with bagels. Our order was filled right away, and the price was very reasonable. Their cafe space is cozy, especially the back room, if you choose to eat in. When my shiba and I walk by here in the early morning hours, we see the staff already hard at work. We will be back to try their sandwiches.

Such a great feel in the Bagel Place. The space is super cool, welcoming and comfortable, the staff is super friendly and efficient, and they really run things SO smoothly. They really nailed almost everything at the Bagel Place.The bagels though. Oh the bagels. They are mediocre at best. They taste like one of those ‘white bread’ bagels that have a bad bagel crust. Taste like frozen bagels from the supermarket. They are more like the Philly Hot Bagel style, and they just fall way short of what a good bagel is. We have been searching for the perfect bagel in Philly, and our search continues. Korshak Bagels were amazing, but they closed. And Spread Bagelry makes an amazing bagel, but they do not have their systems down like the Bagel Place does, so going to Spread is a coin toss. If they get it right, then you have a great bagel, but they often get it wrong. Way wrong.We can only hope that the Bagel Place revisits their bagel recipes, because what they do right, they do perfectly right. Great space, great staff, and efficient service. They just need to make better bagels. (NOTE: Maybe some people prefer their style of bagels, but go to Spread and go to the Bagel Place, and see what style bagel you like more.)And thanks to all the staff at the Bagel Place. Your service is amazing!
