What a place! They are renovating now but can’t wait coming back once they are done. Heart for underground, vision for invocation. It can’t get any better.

Barbary was closed on Saturday, July 30th.Their Facebook and Instagram pages didn't say anything about them being closed. Major disappointment.

Without a doubt the best hole in the wall place to go dance in fishtown. Oozes character

Staffs are nice and friendly. Love the DJs. Less smoke on the dance floor is better and be careful the floor is wet from those people that can't drink and dance without spilling.

Dance! Dance! Dance! Dance! Dance!Update: This review needs to be more descriptive. I always have a great time at The Barbary(excluding that one time I went and felt like headbanging and moshing instead of dancing, so I walked to The Ave). Gina and some of the other promoters have always organized awesome events since the reopening in June(Sorry, I have yet to check out Tiger Beats, Birdup, and Unicorn Party just to name a few). The staff is always friendly, security staff pretty much knows me by name or by my face at this point(in a good way ?), and the crowd is always a vibe! I'm usually there every weekend if I'm in the city.

Establishment is nice, but the service (specifically bartenders) are slimy. My friend and I both opened respective tabs at the bar and ordered a couple rounds of drinks. At the end of the night, when going to close out, they told my friend they didn’t have any card with his last name. I could accept it if they were just honest and said they lost the card, but they tried telling us we never gave them a card to begin with. To make matters worse, they charged all of my friend’s drinks to my card, weren’t willing to remove it, and then my friend continued to have his card used at that bar for the remainder of the night. I wouldn’t feel comfortable using anything but cash at this bar and would definitely urge customers to pay close attention to what they’re being charged when using a card.

It wa ok, the environment was different from other bars and the music was different too but it was nice.

My friend experienced fraud here and the staff was very unhelpful with the situation. They were rude when we asked for help in rectifying the issue.

Very grunge and alternative bar. Not my type

Goliath... Dark... Punk... Nice addition to the outdoor space!! Awesome bartenders, impressed with how Mo, remembered my drink after 1.5 years... cool points for sure!

I had the best party of my life here with 5 strangers in the bathroom. 5/5.

Nice and friendly staffs with various DJs. Must show proof of Covid 19 vaccine card to enter the place. Not sure if you can show Covid negative test within 72 hours to get in if you do not have a vaccine card.

I'll never step foot in there again, this is "Anti American" and power tripping. Covid has a survival rate of 99.9% this won't last long. Requiring people papers is very Nazish and UnAmerican. True colors emerge in hard times and The Barbary is on the wrong side of history
