I work down the street and stop in daily. The food is amazing, and the girls who work there are too! The Vietnamese Iced Coffee is to die for, and they make the best breakfast in the city.
It does get super busy in there, which must be tough for them, and sometimes I bet it's stressful. I WAS working up the courage to ask her name myself, but whoever the owner is, she's doing a great job, and it shows in the quality of the food.
Just try to be nicer to ppl even when it's busy, i know it's hard, but as a patron I feel like I got poor service early this morning, to the point of being offended. Which isn't normal, I respect them to the fullest so, I deserve that respect in return. To say I was confused this afternoon serious be an understatement. After the fact it hit me that it was dead, for the first time. Almost an empty room. So to say why I got that type of treatment as a customer, I'm not sure. Then I get a whole different version of this employee 3 hours later. I'm at the register/counter guessing feeling like a complete moron when trying to engage simple regular conversation. Thank you.

I can’t speak to the breakfast food, but the bahn mi I ordered was not good. I ordered the crispy chicken bahn mi and my chicken was undercooked. On top of that, half of the sandwich was the radish/carrot slaw which seemed to have been drenched in apple cider vinegar and was very overpowering. Needless to say, I did not finish my meal.
The place is decorated nicely but there is only one bathroom which was not clean and the area near the bathroom is dirty which makes me question cleanliness in the establishment.
American breakfast looked good on other people’s tables so if you are eating here, that is probably the way to go, not the bahn mi sandwiches.

I really appreciate the warm welcome I always get from the TBD team. They know how to make coming into TBD feel like home away from home. The food is excellent and is a regular fixture in my takeout rotation, and a spot my family always requests when they visit from out of town. Many thanks to TBD!

Some of the best food I’ve had in Philly. The chao ga (chicken porridge) was so flavorful and the bacon summer roll was expected so delicious. Loved the banh mi’s! Generous portions and the kindest staff and owner!

One of the best breakfasts available in Philly. Servers are attentive and friendly, and TBD has some of the best food available in the city. We take all of our friends and family here, and we've never had a bad experience. Prices are extremely reasonable considering the high quality of the food, and it's one of the rare places I've ever been where there's not a bad dish on the menu. Worth going out of your way for.

The staff are very attentive and patient. I asked for a food suggestion and got the Crispy Tofu Banh Mi and Momma’s pork egg rolls. Super delicious and affordable. Highly recommend.

I had the worst strawberry matcha latte. They used what looked like fresh strawberries which I initially appreciated until I took a sip and realized they hadn’t muddled it enough. Pieces kept getting stuck in the straw. To make matters worse, the strawberries were clearly not in season and very tart. I added simple syrup to try and save it but no success. I would’ve preferred frozen strawberries or a strawberry syrup than this. The matcha itself looked lifeless and dull rather than a bright green.
The food was mediocre. I didn’t expect the house dressing in the breakfast rice bowl to be so sweet. I was hoping for a more balanced flavor that included a note of fish sauce or vinegar or even lime to counter the sweetness but alas, it was one noted.
The saving grace is the good service with constant water refills which I appreciated!

Simply incredible. The cutest little artsy spot you could ask for. The food was to die for. Best home fries I've ever had. The service was great and prompt.

The food looks nice... we just didn't like it... not worth the price... maybe it's what we got. Plus our waitress kept forgetting everything. The drinks were nasty.
Edit: we didn't even notice but after looking at the recipt again the forced tip. Yeah never coming back here ever again.

The food was mediocre, but at this price point I’m not mad. Dishes were undersalted, felt heavy, a tad dry, and lacked the aromatics I associate with Vietnamese food. I wouldn’t go out of my way to dine here. You go to TBD if you’re in the area and you’re looking for a hangout spot or a filling meal at an affordable price. The service and atmosphere made it a pleasant experience.

Fun breakfast spot in Philly. The breakfast bahn-mi and thit kho hash are absolute winners but it's hard to go wrong on their menu. Staff are friendly and polite.
