Great coffee, great service, and great food. I wish the dutch baby was a little bit sweeter or had more fruit, but overall really enjoyable. Also, I wish they had reservations. I tried to make one on their website but it seems like their system is no longer working. That was kind of a bummer

We made a reservation at Mish Mish but there was some unorganized pop up bar there that night so we found this gem across the street from them. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I had the surf and turf. No actual lobster but lobster sauce drizzled over steak which wasn’t bad for the price point.

Service was good but the food left a lot to be desired. The chicken and waffles were not good. The waffle was uncooked the first time which I was told is just the style - it tasted yeasty and doughy. I sent it back because it was inedible. The second waffle I got was also not cooked well - not crisp on the outside and the inside seemed uncooked on parts too. They did comp one of our chicken and waffles but I'd still recommend going elsewhere (Honeys Sit n Eat does a great brunch).

The waitress was excellent, but the Belgium waffle was soft like a sponge. Not an iota of crispness.

let me start with: what a cute spot! the interior was nice (and had a gorgeous bar!), and it's location on passyunk made a window seat prime real estate for people watching. this was my first time trying a dutch baby and honestly, i don't think i need to get one again! no fault of the fine people of the dutch, i just don't see myself ever craving one when it's just a thicker-in-parts crepe, imo. i think im just a normal pancake girlie at heart, but i wanna thank the dutch for finally giving me the chance to try one after years of wondering what they tasted like after watching that one ep of bobs burgers. my friend had a breakfast sandwhich which she really liked, and while i couldn't try that one myself (vegetarian), i definitely will come back here to give them another try with one of those sandwhiches or an omelette.

Celebrated a family member's birthday at Sunday brunch. Food was outstanding. Delicious and well prepared. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. Recommend an early visit on weekends. No brunch reservations are taken. Waited 30 minutes on a Sunday at 10 am. Well worth the wait. Will definitely be returning.

Everyone’s reviews complain about the service, and unfortunately they were accurate. We were told there was a 20 minute wait (for 2 people) even though there were open tables and seats at the bar. When we were seated we ordered right away and waited almost an hour for our breakfast. The servers did not check in or offer any explanation or apologies for the slow service. As we were waiting for our food we heard several other people be told there was a 30-40 min wait, despite half the restaurant being empty. The food was good, but quite heavy and not worth the wait and service in our opinion.

March 8th at 9am the server was shockingly terrible. The place was okay looking but man the service. The server definitely thought they were better than us. Felt like they had issues with us being black. There were only two people in the whole restaurant and they had a stank energy. We were pleasant and happy. Philly is so segregated and I don’t understand why. The server was white and of course the cooks are black. I just googled the place. I’m so over this dynamic. Looking forward to when we own the restaurants. We love everyone generally. My partner was so nice too and I’m definitely going to let her know about herself in a polite way. She’s going assume I’m not tipping because I’m cheap. Took forever to get the food. Over half an hour for sandwiches. Then when I was ready to pay they had more attitude. This was march 8th morning shift. I told the server you had an attitude the entire time like you were better than everyone. 28.00 for two sandwiches and at the end they said no they didn’t have an attitude. Enjoy the sandwiches. Manager just looked. Neither smiled lol way to ruin morning.

We made a restaurant week reservation (group of 4) for dinner. This restaurant has been a solid option the the neighborhood for brunch so we had high hopes for the dinner menu. The food was ok, but the quality definitely did not match the price tag. Per couple, the bill came to about $190 before tip for the three course restaurant week menu and two rounds of drinks per person. It felt like they tried to attach a fine dining price tag to food and an experience that just didn’t live up to that. The service was very slow. No one bothered to clear our plates in between courses. We left feeling very frustrated which was a shame.

Came for East Passayunk restaurant week. Every item was bland and overpriced. Service was also bad. Only one waitress and one bartender working in a packed restaurant. I understand that is a tough job for the server, but when you are charged $40 for a piece of salmon on top of rice you expect to at least be able to order a drink when you would like one. Nothing about the food lived up to the price tag associated with it. Food was comparable to what you would get at the Cracker Barrel, only with fine dining prices.

The food is really mediocre here if you’re looking for actual flavour. We ordered the omelette which was bland. The salmon bagel in which the bagel was really really chewy, it took me so much effort to bite the bagel. Please try to cook the bagel better.

You know it's a bad experience when you're sitting in the car writing the review. We're seated after an hour wait As we sat down we were told there's only one chicken and waffle left so we quickly claim it before we even order any of our other items. We place the rest of our order for a sweet Dutch, avocado toast, chorizo hash, rueban sandwich, and steak and eggs (medium rare). Two parties, one of 2 and one of 4 get seated after us and order. We wait and wait and wait. We ask in the midst of our waiting (50 mins to be exact) how much longer and we're told we're the next table. Great! One of the two parties had gotten their food and was well into their meal. The other party of 4 had gotten their food (burgers and pancakes) and is well into their meal now too. Yet we were the "next table" but we were still starving and waiting.Another waitress comes and says they're plating our food. One by one the food comes out. The avocado on toast with a side salad came with onions had to be sent back because that person requested no onions because she can't eat them. The Sweet Dutch comes out and we requested fruit and my daughter specifically asked which fruit and we were told blueberries, strawberries and bananas ($4 charge). Her dish came without strawberries. We asked another waitress and she said they have to check if they have any. Why is no one on the same page? She brought out the sliced strawberries. The waitress comes out mid meal to ask how our meal is. Mid honestly. She asked if I wanted extra hollandaise sauce (upcharge $1) and then shortly after a man comes out the back, I'm assuming the chef and goes "who asked for more hollandaise? And I said me and he says "we're out". Whatever I'll enjoy the rest of the dry meal.My husband tells the original waitress the disappointment in the service and the meal and she says she'll get the manager to see what they can do. No manager comes out. Another waitress does and we explain the same thing verbatim as I typed above and she says there's nothing they can do because every table waited over 45 mins and the other tables ordered things that didn't take as long and we had a large party. We had 5 adults and 1 child. Ma'am we were seated at 1:30pm the restaurant closes at 2 if you thought that what we ordered would have taken an hour to arrive, someone should have said so. Also what exactly in our order took an hour? Trust me we did ask and she said the steak and chicken. Especially since the steak looked like a 6oz and again medium rare. The chicken is chicken. What chicken thigh takes an hour to fry? But she also people who ordered burgers and fries allegedly waited 45 mins? So we're just okay making customers wait for basic food? I don't accept that excuse or the standard this restaurant sets for itself. It was such a back and forth with changing stories and excuses. There was no accountability and everything was an excuse for why the "manager" who never came out didn't come out. Apparently the man who asked me for hollandaise was the owner. The waitress asked if we want him to come back out. It really just felt like if he was the the owner, he was sending his waitresses to handle his problems. The bill came $238 with 20% gratuity, liquor tax etc included. I hope our $238 keeps them afloat because not even trying to accommodate or at least apologize for the inconsistent service, communication, incomplete dishes and just bad vibes leaves much to be desired.Would I recommend this spot? Hard pass on the taste of the food and service overall, but it's in a great area so there's plenty of other awesome spots in neighborhood. It's never fun to leave a bad review but when the taste in your mouth after leaving an establishment makes you wish you never visited in the first place, what other choice do you have but to warn others.

I don’t review often but felt like I had one of the worst dining experiences in a long time. We (2 top)arrived for a 7:00pm reservation for Restaurant Week at 6:50 and were told we had to wait for our table to become available. Normally this would be fine but there were SEVERAL 2 tops that arrived after us that were sat in empty tables prior to us. It seemed like we had assigned seats which I’ve never seen before. We waited an additional 25 minutes to get our table and seemed like the restaurant was extremely short staffed and we waited an additional 15 minutes for someone to greet us. It wasn’t until after 8:00pm that we received our first course. Normally I side with the servers and understand that Restaurant Week can be busy and frustrating but at no point were we given an explanation nor an apology for waiting. Our second course came out slightly cold (there were only 3 options with a beef, pork and fish option, no chicken or vegetarian). The meals were tasty but at an hour and 30 minutes after our reservation it was too little too late. We also ordered the creme brûlée which had great flavor but the sugar topping was soft and not brittle like it should have been. If anyone of these issues had been isolated I would not complain but they all added up to a terrible experience considering the meal (with wine tasting and 20% tip) was $190. I’ve been to The Dutch many times and have normally had positive experiences but this was disappointing. I don’t blame the servers but the restaurant clearly wasn’t ready for the volume of Restaurant Week. Hoping it was a one time thing.

Came in, asked for a table for two.. it was a 15 minute wait, or sit at the bar, which I didn’t want. Three tables for four sat empty. They wouldn’t seat us because we were two. After 5 minutes I asked if we could order our meals so they would be ready when we sat down. No. Can’t order unless you are sitting at a table. But you can’t sit at a table because you are still two, not four. Two hungry people ready to eat and 12 empty chairs that we weren’t allowed to sit in. I guessed that they did not want our money and we left. Plenty of other places to eat that are eager to serve their customers.
