Hands down the best ice cream I’ve ever tasted. Super dense, perfectly chewy, and just phenomenal.
Aside from a small mishap with my order, the ice cream was great. I got to share it with someone awesome and the sundae the staff recommended was delicious.
We swung by with the team just for some ice cream pistachio and coconut were insanely good!
Very cute stop on your Philly trip, especially if you’ve got a soda lover with you. Staff is polite and the old fashioned vibe makes it fun to slip back in time real quick.
Best ice cream I've ever had.
I had Franklin Fountain ice cream for the first time last night. I loved it. Thick ice cream with real real fruit or pastries in the ice cream. Very generous portion sizes.
I had the caramelized banana and choclate fudge brownie. Next time I am going to get a root beer float.
Thank you for being in my life Franklin Fountain. I love you.
Amazing ice cream shop, but if you’re going to get “just a scoop of ice cream,” I wouldn’t bother. The ice cream here is good, but not nearly as strong on its own. Get a sundae, a milkshake, or a float with homemade soda. My fave sundaes that I’ve tried are Franklin Mint (I order all mint ice cream scoops and no vanilla), Stock Market Crunch, and Banana Split for My Baby. The toppings, including hot fudge, whipped cream, peanut butter sauce, and fruit compotes, are absolutely crucial to each ice cream experience. Thank goodness they now offer smaller sundaes. The standard size is enough for 2-3 people. It’s expensive but worth the splurge every now and then.
I can confidently say this is the best ice cream I’ve ever tasted! Each scoop was a delightful experience. Plus, the vintage interiors added such a charming touch to the atmosphere—what a perfect blend of flavor and ambiance!
If you like ice cream this is the place for you. Lots of history, the interior takes you back in time. Wide selection of ice cream and drinks!
Love it here. You will love it if you try.

We went on a busy Saturday night so it was insanely crowded but I love how many options there were for ice cream or shakes! I took mine to good because it was freezing but I love the little to go box that it came in! Definitely on the pricier end.
If I could give 0 stars I would -100/10 do not recommend
Love the butter favor

These people are the BEST! They ran out of their root beer syrup, and we really wanted it because we live so far away and they were so nice to us and literally bottled it right there. Their root beer floats are also amazing
Philadelphians have a special affection for Benjamin Franklin, one of the founding fathers of the United States. This is because he left behind achievements such as drafting the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.
So, when you walk around Philadelphia, you can easily come across stores with Benjamin Franklin on them, and this is one of them, an ice cream shop. I thought it had been a while, but it was since 2004.
In addition to ice cream, they also sell several ice cream-related desserts such as shakes, and there are a total of three sizes of ice cream. I ordered medium to accommodate two flavors.
The total price was $12, and I chose peanut butter and sea salt caramel as the flavors were recommended. I ordered a cup and it was served in a large paper container filled with chow mein noodles.
Both the peanut butter and sea salt caramel had a very chewy texture that didn't tilt even when you put a spoon in it. It didn't melt right away when it touched the tongue, and I had to keep licking it to slowly disappear.
The peanut butter had a thick taste and was very sweet rather than savory, so I was alert despite the sharp wind. The sea salt caramel was equally sweet, but it was a relatively refreshing and clean American sweetness.
