we were here for pride, there was a false alarm shooting (thank god) the staff was AMAZING so calm and collected as they showed us all to the back and brought our stuff in after people were running and screaming in the street. Could not have asked or ever expected a better response in this scary unprecedented situation.
We went in for dinner and drinks and really enjoyed everything about the place. Amazing staff, great music and good food! It was the day we learned the history behind “Citywide”. Talk to your service industry!
Happy hour was good. That Jamaican punch hit and was tasty. The wings were delicious. The atmosphere is chill and laid back. The bartender was super engaging and easy to talk to. I definitely will be back.
Food was all perfectly fine, but I think you come here for the atmosphere. The back room is dimly lit, and they play sports on the TV. It was a profound and deeply restful escape from the bustling city. I got the cheesesteak which was quite good, and the fries were amazing. My girlfriend got a well done burger, so I am in no place to assess what a properly made burger would have been like. Service was nice; not overbearing but always seemed to be there when we needed something. Nice little spot. Maybe a tad expensive for what it is.
The bar tender was trying to robe me. It was not crazy busy. But they put double drinks of everything and try to charge for that. That’s not nice. I think they do that to everybody. It was not a mistake they did intentionally.
My wife and I had lunch at the Hayes! We were having a little Friday afternoon date. I had their version of the Philly Cheese Steak. It had all the usual ingredients with a twist. Kielbasa and some mustard! It was fantastic! I've never put Mustard on a cheesesteak before in my life! It was just the right quantity of mustard and a great addition! My wife had a burger which she enjoyed very much. Great selection of beers also! We would return!
Stopped in this bar last night & had the most incredible date night. They were certainly short staffed, but Kevin our bartender never let us feel forgotten about. The food was fantastic. The cocktails were even better. Wish we lived closer to visit more often.
Went here to watch the Super Bowl. The staff could not have been nicer as they saw me with a cane and went out of their way to help me out even in the midst of all the chaos the game brought with it!
Bo the bartender is awesome! The whole place n the ambience is delightful. Wouldn't go anywhere else to eat!
Came here for CCD Restaurant week on a rainy Friday. John, the bartender, greeted us as soon as we entered. As we were waiting for the rest of our party, we chatted with John and he was telling us about the history of the restaurant that had formerly been the Irish Pub. John also ended up as our waiter. He was friendly, attentive and efficient as he effortlessly handled the few other tables and the bar by himself! All our plates were plentiful and delicious. The salad alone could have been a meal. The space itself is charming and cozy with a beautiful bar area. We will definitely be returning. And by the way, John deserves a raise!

Great food. Our bartender was very friendly and attentive. Prices in line with the area.
Something was off last night at The Hayes (Dec. 19, 2024). We went for a pre-theater dinner and explained to our server that we had a 7:30pm show to catch. The drinks came out quickly enough but we waited quite a while for our food. Folks at a number of other tables, who had arrived before us, still hadn't gotten their food and we heard a few complaining or asking for their checks. When we actually stood up and explained to our server that we had to go, he said that things were difficult in the kitchen and that he completely understood our decision. But, just then, (and I believe totally by coincidence) our food appeared and we sat back down! The Cesar salad and fries were not bad but the burgers seemed to be a bit under-cooked (maybe due to the kitchen rushing out our orde?) When our bill came the server took off the salad so at at least he was trying to make amends with us. Bottom line, the food was decent and the prices reasonable so maybe we'll give The Hayes another chance sometime. But during the crazy busy time like the holiday season we'll probably avoid it.
Horrible service with mediocre pub food and dirty beer lines. Our waiter showed up to take our order 15 minutes after we were seated and we did not see him again for another hour and half. The one beer I did have, a kenzinger, smelled of rancid mold and tasted even worst. The bartender acknowledged the odor and said they would check the beer line. Unfortunately the moldy lines to pour the beer is the least of this restaurants concerns. Food arrived after an hour, items were missing, burger was half well done half raw meat. I have never seen so many tables at a restaurant visibly upset and begin walking out.
Take my advice and find another place to eat. If they seat you in the backroom with the young male waiter with a nose bridge piercing save yourself 2 hours headache and leave ASAP!
Long delay at front of house despite reservations. Long delay to get waiter to our table to even get water. Burger was good. Chips and fries were so salty we couldn’t stand it. No mention of the fried chicken sandwich being spicy at all and it was super spicy. Very disappointing!!
The food was decent but the service was lacking. They took forever to pick up the check and even longer to return it after they ran the card and the transaction was approved. I’d hate to see how longer it would have taken if i didn’t go to the bar and ask to have my card back and sign the check. This whole process took 20 minutes, no exaggeration
