I used to eat here frequently in the past. I enjoy getting to know the staff. Most of them are no longer there and they have a new set of staff. They are nice and friendly. I noticed the portion definitely got much smaller and the option on the menu also got shorter. The happy hour menu used to be nice. Now it is really nothing worth going for. My husband and I haven't been back for several months. We went last night and it was disappointing. We ordered the garlic chili mussels, some are bad. My husband ordered lobster pot pie, it was okay. The crab cake was a tiny little three circles and it was almost $30. For the price of the crab cakes I should have just ordered a big lump of crab cakes from Cameron's seafood on Fairmont for the same price and you get two choices of sides. I know there is inflation everywhere but it is ridiculous of the cut back on the portion and the prices. Sadly to say we Probably will not be coming for a nice meal there for a long time.

In the old Bookbinder's, the location is very “gentlemen's club,” but in a warm way. If you look very lobster, you must go there. Great dunks too and innovative desserts.

This is my second time being here but it will not be the last. I'm not normally a seafood (other than shellfish) person but I'm always glad I come here. The bartender was very nice, and the host person found us some space at the bar. The atmosphere is fun. Folks won't mention that the vibe is casual. Wear something cute but casual. Maybe a pair of jeans and your cool new graphic tee.The drink specials all sounded really good, but I'm a sucker for anything Earl Grey/London Fog/Lavender. The bartender made a "tequila drink" for my dinner guest because he doesn't ever know what he wants. The smoked salmon spread was bomb. I'm pretty sure the key to happiness is salting your fried bread. The crab fingers were a fun little snack food. They do give you quite a few though. For an entree I had the shrimp and grits and man was it more food than I was expecting. It was grits and etouffee, which was incredible. Just ask for no heads if you're weirded out by it.The happy hour seems great, I wasn't there for happy hour but I did read about the menu. Show up, show out, enjoy some great cocktails, great food, a chill atmosphere, and excellent company.

I was so disappointed in this restaurant/bar? It's is very overpriced bar food claiming to be a seafood restaurant. The quality was so bad. I had 1 dozen oysters that were not shucked well. They had bits of shell in the oyster and were the smallest ever. The fried calamari shrimp appetizer was nothing impressive. Deep fried, no dipping sauce and just average. The lobster roll was pathetic to be honest. It was tiny bits of lobster on a piece of garlic bread. It was 34 or 36 dollars. And some tossed lettuce for a salad. I walked out feeling ripped off. I just sucked it up, but really the food is so sub par. Maybe a drink and go somewhere else for a dinner.

I've been to the Olde Bar at least a dozen times and this was not their best showing. The drinks almost tasted watered down and the food wasn't of the level I've become accustomed.

Never thought I'd miss the plastic lobster bib and snapper soup. Fortunately we arrived before Happy Hour ended, so our server was kind enough to suggest we order off that menu for cocktails and apps. Otherwise, we were disappointed in the quality and quantity of our entrees (lobster, or was that a crayfish? risotto) and pork chop. Cocktails were very good. Great place for Happy Hour. Restaurant setting retained the historic charm of the Original Bookbinders, unfortunately not the value and quality of the seafood dishes.

Usually write only good reviews and have had good experiences here prior but was a miss last night. They were somehow out of steak. Also took about 25 minutes to get our first drinks and our appetizer came before our drinks. Service was lacking tonight and our drinks were empty for about 20-25 minutes before our server came to our table to ask how our meal was and if we wanted a refill. The pork chop was great as always.

Don’t waste your time. Horrendous service.

Great setting, but the food was expensive and the portions were tiny, especially the shrimp cocktail, fried calamari appetizer, and steak and fries (good fries, almost no steak). If we come back, we'll sit at the bar and order manhattans and fries. Period.

Went to dinner with my family last night at the Olde Bar and we all really enjoyed our meals! The drinks were great, although bar service was a bit slow. The food was delicious and our server was very friendly. I'd specifically recommend the Salmon entree and the chili garlic mussels appetizer. Will definitely be back!
