The food was delicious, albeit pricy, and was neatly complemented by the DJ set as part of their spring happy hour celebrations. I enjoyed just about every part of my experience, aside from moderately slow service. I'd still recommend this hotel-lobby-bar to anyone looking for a lightly upscale good time.

First things first, the atmosphere. Very nice place. A bit hard to find, the hostess stand is in the middle of the restaurant but you enter from the hotel.Atmosphere was beautiful. Very nice decorations and very clean.Food was pretty good, but definitely didn’t wow. The onion gratin soup was under-salted. Very good onion flavor but again, needed salt. The daily bread service appetizer was just ok and only contained two small pieces of bread. My girlfriend had the sweet potato gnocchi. They were pretty flavorless but did have a tasty sauce but there wasn’t enough of it. She added grilled shrimp to her dish and they were pretty goodI got the steak frites. It was cooked very nicely. Seasoning was decent and the meat tasted like a quality piece, but nothing about it really “wowed” me. Fries were very good. For desert, we had a basque cheesecake. It was just ok. Didn’t really seem like a true basque cheesecake, the top only had some leapording and not a full brown carmelized top like you expect on a basque cheesecake. The drinks were very good but a bit pricey.Overall, the food was good but not a good value. I feel for $130 per person (260 total), I want to feel wowed and this experience was not a wow experience. It was not worth the value and I would not come back.

Really not what was expected. First the oysters were poorly shucked, small shell pieces inside. Then the smoked tartare had an overwhelming butane taste that destroyed the meat. Next the bone marrow was served pre melted on stale bread- reminiscent of soggy oil bread. The kobe zabuton was grossly over salted (we ordered two for table both were same). One of the two lamb chops had a dish soap taste, rather odd and not too sure what the flavor was. However, the long bone short rib was rather tasty. It was well seasoned and cooked, not overly fatty either. It was the only winner for the night. The manager was notified of the feedback and he offered a round of drinks, which we declined. No other concessions were made.I would pass this place up until they put some serious work into improvements. I feel like they spent too much on decor and atmosphere and not enough on training the kitchen staff.I believe these dishes would be considered good to someone that doesn’t know what a well prepared meal tastes like. If you are a “foodie”, skip this place. If you want a place to hang out and drink wine in a semi fancy atmosphere give it a try. The prices are entirely too high for the quality.Side note, our waiter wore a mask- to each their own but when you spend several hundred dollars on a meal let’s get with the times. If you’re afraid of the virus, stay home.

We had dinner here the other night and the restaurant was dead but they sat us right in front by the door which was bizarre considering the whole restaurant was open. The food was so disappointing, the smoked tartar had a hair in it and the smoked aspect was too much making it taste odd. The portions were small. The short ribs were underwhelming. They didn't make a french martini correctly. Very expensive for what it was. Not to mention, the staff was extremely loud having their own conversations while we're trying to enjoy ourselves but we could only hear their conversations. The only thing that was nice was the ambiance and decor but we didn't even get to experience it because we didn't get to sit in the main part of the restaurant. The whole experience was disappointing and I do not recommend.

It was ok. French onion soup and cauliflower appetizers were good. We stayed at the hotel and wanted somewhere closer. I am not sure I would go back but it was ok.

The Wayward is a solid breakfast/brunch spot with an excellent cocktail game. It's located in the Canopy by Hilton Hotel, so it can be a little confusing to find as you either have to go through the hotel or find the labeled entrance on the side of the hotel building. It does have just a tiny bit of a hotel restaurant vibe, but if you're in the right spot, it's actually pretty cute. We really enjoyed having drinks here. There's limited seating at the bar, but they have a variety of types of seating around the bar that may be used to enjoy your drinks --- tables, couches, armchairs, etc. My favorite cocktail was the Girard Spritz, a vodka-sparkling wine drink with strawberry and thyme that is just delightful. I also had the Citron Presse, which is made with local gin, honey, and lemon and was a very pretty drink. My friend also enjoyed the Broken Flowers, which had a unique flavor profile and looked pretty awesome with the straw through a flower blossom. Food-wise, I opted for the Smoked Salmon Sammy, a classic lox on an Everything bagel with all the usual fixings, which was exactly what I wanted it to be. My friend ordered the Short Rib Hash with sweet potato, peppers, onions, and poached eggs and was quite happy with it. Overall, a good option. Would be interested in returning for oysters and one of their many variations on the classic French 75. Definitely worth the stop if you're staying at the hotel!

I live in the area and I've been to the bar area a few times, just hoping it will be better than the last time. The lights are are way too bright for a lounge area, really kills the mood. The couches are also really dirty with pen marks all over them. Also music sounds like a waiting area at a Dr's office.

Always delicious and interesting food! Service was great too. Thank you, Dontay! We just came in for dessert and cappuccinos tonight. Had the croissant-donut and the cheesecake. Both unique and exciting.

I went here with a few friends the other night. We had the oysters and shrimp for appetizers. Both were fine, well-presented, and served in sufficient quanity. For dinner, and I'll only comment on my meals, I had the poached pear salad and butternut squash soup. Both were only marginally good. The salad was dull, no tang. The argula was a bit old, maybe. The soup had very little taste. I don't recommend ordering it. For dinner I had the Sweet Potago Gnocchi. It was disappointing. Texture was fine, taste unremarkable. My Manhattan's, I had two, were only ok. Not well prepared. My coffee was good. Service was friendly, though slow, and the wait staff did not seem to be well educated about the offerings at this restauant. Nothing was terrible about the restaurant, but given it's relatively high price, everything, but the coffee, was only reasonably good to medicore. I would not recommend going here, there are too many better alternatives within walking distance of The Wayward.

I read the reviews on line and based on the reviews I made reservations for Thanksgiving dinner! Parked the car 3 blocks away from the restaurant hard to locate the restaurant on google map from where we parked, finally got to the restaurant for our 5 pm reservation for Thanksgiving dinner. The place was empty few people at the bar and few in the restaurant! I specifically had asked not to b sitted by the door and our table was by the door even though the restaurant was empty at 5:pm. I couldn't understand that! The background music doesn't suit the atmosphere and it's not at all pleasant to the ears trying to have dinner! We ordered the smoked tartar for appetizer and my son and I ordered the Thanksgiving dinner 3 course meal for $55 and my Ex ordered the steak. The salad was nothing special with no dressing and if it had dressing I couldn't taste anything it was so dry! The main course came out not looking at all appetizing the food was cold as ice the stuffing was burnt and only a small strip of turkey wih cranberry sauce no mashed potatoes it was the most awful dinner ever! Take a look at the picture! We called the waitress to bring back the menu so we can order another dish because we were hungry. I'm not sure why this restaurant got so many good reviews and everyone raves about there food, but what a disappointment for us trying this establishment for the first time! Never go here on Thanksgiving u b disappointed. The only reason I gave it a 2 stars was our friendly waitress and the manager who took out the two thanksgiving dinners from our finall bill. I'm home now cooking

This place was bloody awful! Four of us went for dinner before theater on Saturday. The charcuterie appetizer consisted of two crackers and some gray meat on a very small plate. The $10 bread service was two very small rolls. Two of us had the steak, They were barely mediocre. Had to hunt down a server to get a fork and a steak knife. Service was not good either. We recommend avoiding this awful place.
