GREAT spot with a consistent quality. Definitely glad to have a place offering Tibetan and other east Asian dishes in the area. I don't/can't eat seafood so I can't say how well they do it, but Tibet is a landlocked area so....keep that in mind. That said, the Gha, Phaktsee, Curry, Shatrak, Momo, Noodles, and Satay I've had there the four or five times I've been there have been amazing!

Small space - so definitely recommend parties of no more than 6.

We were excited to try a new cuisine and happened to be up in Manayunk - White Yak did not disappoint 😩 Everything was flavorful and fresh, the restaurant was clean and smelled great, and the service was good. We got in a bit closer to closing due to a typo in their Wednesday hours (they close at 9:30p on WED, not 3AM) but we were welcomed and didn’t feel rushed at all. Great spot definitely worth your visit.

This restaurant was an absolutely delightful surprise on a warm summer evening. We popped in to grab dinner before heading home and wanted to try some Tibetan food. Little did I know we would discover a new all time favorite. The restaurant itself is simple but lovely, with plenty of tables while still giving enough room that we didn't feel crowded. Service was very friendly and efficient, but didn't overcrowd. And the food. Some of the best food I've ever had. I had the beef Shatruk, and it was flavorful and filling, just the perfect comfort food without being greasy or heavy. My brother had the Thenthuk, which was a dumpling soup that was out of this world. When we come back, I'll be having that as the flavor was unique, powerful, and utterly addicting. And we finished it off with the Banana Tempura which was light but rich, the theme for the night. Easily the most outstanding dessert I've had for a while. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, and I will be coming back soon.

We appreciated having multiple vegan options. Everything was delicious, especially the sauces. Definitely recommend the vegan momo sampler and the veg curry. The staff were also super friendly. I look forward to returning and trying other vegan dishes.

I was there a few months ago and need to return! They have a nice selection of vegan options clearly marked on the menu. I shared the vegan "momo" which are dumplings, 3 different flavors. The Cauliflower-filled ones were my favorite with the potato ones a close second! The lentil soup was filling and delicious. My entree was the "Veg Beef Shatrak" which was a stir fry dish. Big serving and took the rest home for a delicious lunch the next day. Highly recommend!

This was my first experience with Tibetan cuisine. Truly excellent meal! Had the chili momo, shatrak and curry dishes. Can’t wait to try something new on my next visit.

The vegan selection at White Yak is above average for a place that serves meat too. The momos are really good. The Potato momos have curry, so there’s a hint of Indian flare in there. I got the veg thinthuk which was a hearty soup that will warm your soul on a cold night. Our server was very friendly. She even mentioned that some stuff on the menu that isn’t mentioned as explicitly vegan, can be made vegan (like the curry, for example). One thing to note is that there’s a $5/bottle corkage fee for wine/spirits. -Also, make a reservation if you can. The place fills up quickly and there can be a wait.

The food is delicious…carefully prepared and flavourful. The lentil soup is one of the best I’ve ever had. The momos (Tibetan dumplings) are available in traditional and new renditions, both of which work well. The vegetables are cooked with just the right heat. The chef and her partner have created a warm Tibetan atmosphere, too. Greta service. It was a pleasure to meet the founder who was also the chef. Highly recommend!

Food is excellent but the staff can't manage the restaurant's success. On our last visit (in all senses of the phrase), they completely lost track of the wait line and seated three different walk-in groups before us who had clearly arrived after us (and were of the same size, this is ignoring the small tables). So we went from first in line with a five minute wait simply to clean a newly emptied table, to waiting over 40 minutes. Long story short, maybe ok to order pickup, but do not come in person.

Edit: The manager then also lied about two of those groups having reservations, they did not. Either way, they should have considered that up front and not estimated five minutes.

Food was great! Got the veggie momo combo pan fried and the goat curry. The potato filling momo was my favorite of the three. The sauce was delicious. Curry was my favorite bite. Goat was soft and broth was very good. Had to order another bowl of rice to pair with it!

Had dinner there on the same day as the Oktoberfest so it was busy. Service also took quite long, about 20 min for our food to come out. Think it was due to the crowd that day. Was also loud because of how packed it was, which can't be helped but definitely something to know if noise level is something you're considering for your dinner atmosphere.
