We first learned about the Ukranian League through their participation in the international Christmas holiday celebration at Fairmount Park. The League did an incredible job transoforming 2 rooms in Lemon Hill mansion into a Ukranian family's holiday celebration. We learned about the holiday food, decor and celebration traditions. Members of the League also created needlework art which they sold as a fundraiser to support the war in Ukraine.

Cannot say enough good things about ULP as a party venue. Nice, clean hall with a stage, bathrooms, bar and basic kitchen in a great location. Mike and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Thank you ULP!

My best friend had never been here but did have a membership card after his wife found a small way to help out the cause and joined. We decided to check out the Ukrainian League of Philadelphia after having an awesome meal at Morimoto (see my review)! We're happy to make the trek to check things out.We thought we'd be in and out after having a beer or two, but we were in for a treat. Tonight was jazz night. Not only was it jazz night, it was Ukrainian jazz night. The League has jazz night once monthly with an in-house trio but as the bass player advised us, he was lucky enough to be able to visit Ukraine several times and hook up with other jazz musicians. When he heard that they were coming to the United States but the west coast for a jazz festival, he asked them if they'd consider coming to Philadelphia for a night or two and they did. They had a rehearsal the day before, and played to a packed house at the Ukrainian League for a two hour set with no breaks consisting of alto, trumpet, guitar, upright bass, keyboard, and drums. The combo was tight and full of hot licks and kicks with all getting their turn in the spotlight. The leader of the band on the trumpet talked about each piece and how some of the atrocities he and his bandmates have had to deal with resulting in the inspirations for the different pieces of music. He even had a reinterpretation of an Ukrainian Folk song which they first played off his phone the original. However, this is about the Ukrainian League. Going down the stairs, you came to the door where you end up in a rectangle shaped room with a large bar along the right side, and banquettes and tall bar tables with chairs in the center and other side. There's also an old pool table but I don't know if it was operational. They have a lot of Ukrainian beer, but also a fully stocked bar with everything you could want. And the drinks are cheap. $4 for a Captain and Coke. The people who came in after we did all seemed to be regulars and the Ukrainian language filled the air. My friend and I were not the youngest in the place, either. My only knock was after the two hour set of jazz, my ass was on fire in the very uncomfortable seats. The Ukrainian League also has open mic nights, movie nights, and sponsors other special nights. They also sell frozen pierogis!Overall, my friend and I had a great night listening to jazz and having some cheap drinks. We'd like to come back!

Rented the place out tn to absolute horrid people tn. Drinking and smoking outside in front of peoples houses and illegally parking everywhere making the busses lay on the horn. Made this place the worst place to live.

The people are awesome!! I have had two events here so far reasonably-priced and very accommodating. Would highly recommend only down side is parking.
