One of the worst lattes I’ve ever had. Also they don’t have cinnamon.

While I’d lived in the area for awhile, somehow I didn’t get to trying this coffee shop until this morning - on a chilled early fall Sunday morning. While the atmosphere inside this coffee shop is cozy & the shop is located in a heart of the city, in an upscale neighborhood, both the decaf coffee my husband ordered and my hot matcha latte were below mediocre. My husband who never really complains or talks about a cup of coffee being bad, mentioned that he really didn’t like his coffee at all from Ultimo. I got the hot matcha latte and, while also paying an extra $1 for almond milk, I’d never had the worst tasting matcha latte out - it was so watered down and the milk in it tasted like a poor quality watery almond milk. To top off the not amazing drinks ☝️, the barista couldn’t have been more miserable at their job. When I tried to compliment them on their latte art skills, I’d gotten an attitude and a look as if it had 5 heads and/or a tail too… Wild experience… I didn’t want to make it into a scene there, but honestly I hope the management of Ultimo Coffee pays close attention and monitors these reviews and takes this feedback to heart and makes improvements… With so many other solid coffee shop options in the area (K’Far, Vibrant Coffee, Elixir, etc.), Ultimo Coffee needs to step up their game, in terms of quality of drinks, as well as the employees being at least a bit more friendly and less miserable looking…

UNHAPPY 3pm slump! The most unhappy staff I've ever encountered at a coffee shop.
I go out of convenience and try to be kind and friendly, but their lack of personality drains the life out of me.

Noisy and loud, small and cramped but the coffee is good. The oat milk is inferior so I opted for Half & Half which was sour. The matchas here look weird because they don't mix it fully into the drink. The ricotta orange pastry was good but small. I will likely come again because the staff is friendly.

This place has absolutely no atmosphere or ambiance. The cashier was not welcoming at all and got the simplest order incorrect. Just an awful experience for such a long drive. Recommend you go elsewhere.

FYI: Coffee Review Only…

Came in after walking around quite a bit in the Rittenhouse square area and ordered Iced Mocha, Iced Latte and Iced Tea.

They were all DELICIOUS and VERY refreshing.

The service was prompt and good.

The ambience is textbook downtown cafe’ with a chill vibe

Would definitely come here again and try more stuff…

I got a latte and it was a good one. The food and space is nice. I did go on a super loud day. It's small space with places to sit and work. BUT, they do play EDM and there are groups of people going in and out. So, if you're going to work, bring noise cancelling headphones. Apart from that, the coffee was really good.

Stopped in for Sunday morning coffee and a pastry. The coffee was dark, hot, and strong. Just right. The pastry were split. Peanut butter bite was excellent but the cardamom pistachio loaf was dry. Tasty, but dry!

Table was dirty which isn’t cool, so takeout coffee is the way to go.

Iced coffee was fine. No one was in the small shop, besides the 3 employees standing around. Very transactional. A lot of better options in the area.

`Ultimo Coffee is a hidden gem for coffee enthusiasts seeking a truly authentic and quality coffee experience. Tucked away in a charming corner of the city, this cozy café has become a personal favorite of mine. The first thing that strikes you upon entering Ultimo Coffee is the warm and inviting atmosphere. The rustic decor, with its wooden furnishings and soft lighting, creates a comforting ambiance that's perfect for a quiet morning coffee or an afternoon work session.

This is one of my go to coffee shops in the Rittenhouse area. It’s super cute and cozy with exactly the atmosphere that I like in a cafe, that is calm and relaxed and quaint. The espresso is delicious, and they make a really good cappuccino and cortado. They also have a super unique pastry selection. The thing is that the space is very small, so seating is limited, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing depending on what you want.
