Incredibly rude cashier, white blond middle aged woman working Saturday afternoons. Didnt care to crack a smile, show a little bit of respect and decency, very cold and rude, refused to give us a small extra cup despite our $50+ purchase and a stack of cups in the back. If you are a hijabi/poc try another spot!!! The racism is glaring.

They really need to make sure the ice cream is in good condition the mint chocolate chip was squshy not really frozen also it really gets busy here 6pm to 10pm rather than only 2 people here always atleast have 4 workers

Vanderwende’s is hands down my favorite ice cream spot in Philly. If you like banana you have to get their banana ice cream it’s the BESTTT. But the cookies and cream is also elite.

10/10 every single time.

The ice cream is freezer burnt with chunks of ice in it. The waffle cones are stale. I’m an ice cream lover and it’s hard to disappoint me but this place doesn’t cut it. Side note they said nothing while a woman walked the whole store asking all of the customers for money right in front of them. Seemed like the staff didn’t want to be there.

Friendly employees and generous portions. However they could be cleaning tables instead of sitting around. Tables are dirty and sticky.

Very tasty! Great ambiance and there’s plenty of seating. Public bathrooms available. Pricey, but the scoops are enormous. $15-20 give or take for two people with tip. Only thing is two times I tried going, they were closed although it was 2-3 hours before their listed closing time. There was no announcement on their social medias that they were going to be closed.

Delicious ice cream and big servings (the kids scoop is huge). Unlike some ice cream shops, there's enough seating and space.

Amazing ice cream! Best bang for your buck is the flight for sure. All the flavors we tried were delicious - cherry vanilla, raspberry, birthday cake, cookie dough, cookies & cream, strawberry. Can’t go wrong with any of them!

Small shop with friendly people. We ordered a small but the portion was huge. 2 flavors: Butter Pecan full of pecans and sweet & Cappuccino Crunch with bits of Oreo throughout. Both were perfect for us on a hot day.

Obviously the ice cream is really delicious, but the most important thing is the staff: super kind, generous and eager to share a moment with the customers! Well done, guys!
