came here for a friends birthday dinner last weekend - my friends and i had a great time! our server, Brazil, was attentive, kind, and helpful with answering our questions. entrees can be ordered on a spice level 1 to 5 but some dishes are naturally spicier than others so this doesn't always equate to exactly the spice level you expect. the fish moilee at spice level 2 was way spicier than paneer makhani at spice level 4. paneer makhani was good but could've been more flavorful. the paneer palak was our favorite dish. the paneer in both these dishes was some of the best i've had. samosas, garlic naan, and goat cheese naan were great. do be warned that 21% tip is automatically included for parties over 5. overall, the ambiance and service were 5/5. food was 4/5. not my favorite indian spot in philly, but very good nonetheless!

I really enjoy the food at Veda. My favorite go to dishes are the Crispy Spinach Chaat which I think is so delicious and fun to eat and the Chicken Biriyani. I've dined in twice and ordered take out about four times. First, I think you get more food when dining in (likely my imagination but it just seems like the portions are bigger). The to-go containers seem unusually small for the price. I added an extra side of rice and with tax and tip all three items (with no drink) came out to $53.34! I enjoy the food so I will be back but not for takeout.

The food and drinks were good, and the bread basket is totally worth it, especially if you’re sharing with others. Our server was nice, attentive, and welcoming, and she was the best part of the visit. She gave good recommendations, and checked in on us frequently. The restaurant also played a good selection of music which gave it a nice vibe. I wish they put on their physicaly menus that the meat is halal. They have this stated on their website, but not on the physical menu so some of our party was not aware. This would have been a 5-star visit had it not been for the seating arrangement and for what happened at the end of the visit. To give some context, we made a reservation in advance for our party, and you would think that for an advance reservation they would take care with the seating. I was not satisfied with where we were seated - our table and seats were cramped, and there was a table right next to us that could accommodate us better. Our table felt really enclosed, practically holed between 3 sides of walls. We thought the table next to us was perhaps booked for another party and that is why they didn’t seat us there. No. We were wrong. For the entire duration, no one was seated at the table next to us, so I don’t understand why we couldn’t sit there. We would have been more comfortable there. Oh well, nice to know for next time.At the end of our dinner, we had given the server our cards to pay for the check, and while we were waiting for our cards, a guy came over (probably the manager), and basically was ushering us out. Although he was being polite about it, it still soured the taste because of course we will leave after we get our cards back. Shouldn’t he have checked with the server about the status of the table before coming to us and tell us that they need to clean the table for the next group and we need to leave? He said it more diplomatically, but basically using the same words here. It left us a bit shocked because we were ready to leave, just waiting for our cards.

Recently enjoyed a date night at Veda. Indian typically isn’t my goto as I’ve had a rough time finding a dish I like. We started with chicken samosas. They were served with two dips. The reddish color one was our favorite adding a sweet and smoky flavor. I ordered the chicken biryani and it was great! I got a spice level 2. I probably could have stomached level 3 but it was plenty spicy for the night and the chicken was amongst the most tender I’ve ever had. My girlfriend got the lamb rogan josh at a spice level 3 and loved it. We also had the garlic and herb naan. We left with several boxes as the serving sizes were generous. Our server Jai was extremely attentive and welcoming with great suggestions. Will return!

Went at lunch with 12 people from India who swore this was the most authenticate place in the area. Crispy okra was great, must admit, it didn't look good but tastes good. Lamb thali was very tasty, I had the chettinad, but the team got a variety and just about every bowl/plate was clean.

If you are in Philly , you need to try this place . If you have not experienced Indian food before , you need to try this place. They can completely accommodate the spice level as you ask them . I invited one of my friends from Greece and her daughter here and even though it was their first time with Indian cuisine, they absolutely loved it . I was so happy that they could eat everything we ordered. Palak Paneer (a very basic Indian dish) was also elevated to a different level. The sauce for Malai Kofta was so delicious. Our server Was very attentive and I would definitely recommend this place .Vegetarian options: Daal Makhni ( Lentils) , Palak Paneer( Cottage cheese in spinach sauce) , Malai Kofta ( Cottage cheese in tomato based sauce) , Samosa ( Indian fritters stuffed with boiled potatoes and Peas) , various types of Indian breads, Crispy fried Gobhi (Cauliflower)Parking: Next to the restaurant

So so good!! We got the 2 level for spicyness and it wasn't that spicy! The korma was so creamy and the okra salad was very well seasoned (didn't expect that big of a portion). Service was nice, didn't stop by too too often, and the restaurant was very nicely designed! Very relaxing eating in there.

Ordered Chicken Korma takeout with onion sage naan. My naan was raw dough in the center
