The best vegan food I have ever eaten! As a long time vegetarian this place really can do a mean vegan sandwich, burger, or bowl. Everything I've eaten here has been delicious. I especially love the sauces on all the dishes and the owner is always so friendly. Definitely stop by if you're in the neighborhood.

The Best Vegan Dessert Assortments! I've been to vegan commissary at multiple time periods during it's journey and I'm never disappointed. Went and got some zucchini chocolate cake and it was the moist, rich chocolatey deliciousness I needed. Staff is very friendly and this place is a real winner!

Awesomeness! Adding pics of the feast I picked up to bring home for my kids ( college age/ vegan ) and myself to put to the test. I want to say a BIG thank you to the friendly guy, Steve, he was so helpful! Estab seems very clean, S. Philly parking, eh. Located on a small residential street Didnt see handicapped accessible/ 2 small steps into the place, no dine in, grab and go prepared meals and varying hot foods cooked while you wait- as described.Our favorites from our selections were The Cheesesteak ( it disappeared so quickly, we are vegan x 3 yrs, its rare to find to not only a replica but BETTER THAN a beef cheese steak! That alone is worth the 30-40 min drive. The Chicken salad, Sweet Potato salad were very good, tied for 2nd. The grab & go entree, braised tempeh was very good, just a lil dry for our liking ( a lil home gravy spruced it up to a 10!) The Nori cakes were great.. And for the desert selection; Oatmeal cream pie, mango cake, cookie dough cake, banana choc slice, raspberry cookie, omg... they were ALL a tie, ever bit a tie for 1st! lol. The beet juice drink is so good.. what more can I say??! I try to be true with all my reviews, looking for the good and the ‘meh’, but honestly folks, there are no ‘mehs’ here! Just Go! Vegan Victory!Wow. I can count on one hand the number of food service establishments that have provided me with the same level of service that I received at the Vegan Commissary, let alone those that are vegan.I first visited the VC on a quick information stop to ask about menus, services, etc. I was fortunate to get to meet the owner, Steve, and now several staff members. Steve and his staff are unquestionably helpful, informative and friendly. I received not only detailed information about the eatery itself, but also an abbreviated history of the VC on the day that I stopped in.Very curious and drooling over the plethora of amazing menu options, I decided to call in and place an order for pickup. I saw on Instagram a striking picture of lentil meatloaf and decided to ask about what was pictured lest my eyes suffer any more damage from delight. I wanted to have this meatloaf for Friday night’s dinner (I was calling on a Tuesday) but I wasn’t sure if it would still be available by then (the VC menu is a dynamic one and offers daily rotations of new offerings). So kind was Steve when he answered the phone. He immediately said: “I recognize your voice! I remember you. You came in not too long ago asking about us. I’ll keep one aside for you.” Well, he did.If ever there was a completely satiating meal, it was the dinner (and first meal) that I had from the Vegan Commissary. Imagine a vegan meatloaf and side of sautéed vegetables that fascinates all of the senses from indulgence through smell and taste to captivation by sight and tingling (the good kind), all at once. What I opened on Friday mirrored the photograph on Instagram. A photograph that was too stunning not to seem doctored in some way was put right on my table. I just can’t believe what a hidden treasure I have found at the VC.Thank you guys so much for your hospitality, kind service and amazing food. It really is comforting to see such pride in service and quality of food nowadays. However it is that you maintain the crucial balance of these two things, please keep doing it! I can’t wait for this Friday’s dinner!
Vegan Commissary offers creative delicious food at reasonable prices. The menu changes weekly and they have special events and do catering. We have placed special order cakes for birthdays and our anniversary. Steve offers a great holiday menu for Thanksgiving and Christmas. His team put together creative menus for Valentines day and Super Bowl Sunday too. They have weekly brunch and lunch specials which are delicious.

The food here is awesome. There is a wide selection of stuff and the menu constantly has new stuff added to it. Not to mention the staff is very friendly. If your looking for a good vegan meal/snack quickly this is the place to go and doesn’t compromise on quality to provide it either.
