Great food, great ambiance, great service. Our waiter was Barney and he was real chill. Had the new smoked wings... not as good as the wings they used to have a couple years ago but still pretty good. Village Burger and the duck fat fries w/ cheese were phenomenal. Also, they do have a gluten free bun for those with sesame seed allergies.

My husband and I have been to VW multiple times, and this was the first occasion on which we dined in the more spacious and quieter dining room. It was a treat to be in the library-inspired ambience. I had a pleasing citrusy NewZealand Sauvignon Blanc; my husband ordered an intriguing red-tinted thyme-infused gin drink, rather like a bitter. It was reminiscent of Campari. Service was fine, although at a certain point the server became bogged down with the demands of other diners. We started with shrimp over Bibb lettuce with avocado, and it was satisfactory. We each ordered foie gras–topped burgers, confident that VW would manage to cook them as we liked — rare and medium rare. However, what we received were medium and well done. At that point the place was thrumming along, our server was distracted and we concluded that sending the patties back was futile. They were still good, mind you, but fell short of excellent. Sometimes it seems that ordering a rare or medium-rare burger of high-quality (heritage) beef is unrealistic, even at a place such as Village Whiskey, particularly in light of the current rage for "smash burgers." Duck fat fries were pleasingly crisp but should have been taken from the oil slightly earlier.

My wife and I enjoyed dinner at Village Whiskey on a recent Saturday evening. while we have eaten on the bar side previously, this was our first experience on the ‘dining' side. We were seated shortly after our arrival. Our server, Olivia, greeted us and provided water and took our drink order. We ordered the eggplant toast as an appetizer while my wife had the branzino and I, the mushroom gnocchi for our entrees. All the food was fresh and full of flavor, perfectly prepared and presented. To finish our meal, we ordered espresso and shared the pecan pie à la mode. Our meal was well paced and Olivia's service was superb..........attentive, unrushed but efficient. This was a truly lovely dinner experience.

Angelina was absolutely amazing, she knew a lot about the menu and was very personable! Definitely some of the best service I've ever had! Would certainly return, because the food was delicious!

Service was superb! They were one of the most polite and attentive set of employees I've encountered in a long time.

The gnocchi and fries were very bland. They did take the gnocchi off the check when I sent it back. The branzino looked filleted but it had bones still, so I struggled with eating bones until I removed the spine, but the fish was good. The burger and fried pickles were great.

No staff showed up to serve area where reserved so we ate at bar. Food was still very good!

The place has remained consistently good. I first came here back when it opened more than a decade ago and the deviled eggs are still just as great as I remembered. Village burger and steak frites are great. Table loved the short rib fries. Service left something to be desired, drinks took awhile/not checked in on all that frequently. Still, will certainly go back and nice to take out of towners to.

Great bartenders and fast service. Drinks and whiskey selection were awesome!! Wish we lived closer for the bar. Very well kept restaurant and bar. Menu is small but enough choices. Smash burger was large and very good. Scotch egg was also delicious.

Everything was fine, except the table that we were sitting at was extremely wobbly and it could have been a bit larger for two people. We were sitting outside

We sat for 15 minutes without the waitress, who sat us, taking our order table next to us said they waited for over an hour still didn't have food. So we left. I understand possibly being short staffed or overwhelmed. That's when the manager who walked by shoulda been helping the girl. That's the job setting your employees up for success.

I can't believe this is owned by Jose Garces, an Iron Chef. We waited over half an hour just to get cocktails. The waiter delivered the wrong cocktail to the wrong person, and since they were exotic names, my friends started drinking the cocktail ordered by the other. Only way this was discovered was that one friend disliked the cocktail and the mistake was discovered. One friend ordered the chicken Milanese, which was so dried out that he couldn't cut it and the pasta side was mushy. My other friend ordered Cobb salad without blue cheese and it came loaded with blue cheese. I had the burger of the day - smash burger with American cheese and bacon jam. I was expecting crispy edges which is the hallmark of a smash burger, but there weren't any. My chicken Milanese friend returned his entree and decided to depart and catch his train without dinner. The manager did remove his entree from the bill, which was only fair.
