At Winthorpe and Valentine (a great name for a Philadelphia restaurant), the food is good, the ambience is surprisingly elegant - almost like eating in a living room with a nice bar area - and the service is wonderful. Although the restaurant is in the Westin hotel in the Liberty Place complex, locals should not hesitate to check it out. The servers and other personnel, who deal primarily with out of town guests, are gracious and well-trained. Also an excellent place for a business lunch or for an informal but good evening meal or drink.

This is a nice restaurant in the Westin Hotel in center city Philadelphia. I've been here many times for lunch and dinner as it's very close to my office. Recently, they changed the menu...for the better! Today, I had the chicken schnitzel...a fantastic chicken breast pounded flat and seasoned then bread-crumbed and fried. It was very tasty. The prices are high for lunch, but it is in a hotel and very convenient for me. Other items on the menu that I've tried include a burger, salmon salad and korean wings. It's pretty quiet here and they have a full bar. I will definitely be back.

Went to Winthorpe & Valentine over the holidays for a family get together. The food was excellent and the ambience was nice and quiet. The service was fair, but really slow. Bar service was slow as well and selections limited. There were no visual links or memorabilia to connect the bar to its namesake movie, which was also a dissappointment. If you're looking for a quiet, out of the way bar/lounge for a leisurely lunch this would be an adequate choice.

Dinner has some good options but breakfast leaves a bit to be desired. And wings aren’t as good as you’d expect either. Service is solid though.

Best Thanksgiving Feast! Our waitress Bernie was the absolute best.

Not even a hotel restaurant. Just some space set aside from the lobby with some tables and a bar. If you're in the mood for bland room service food without the fluffy white bathrobe, this might be a good choice for you. Otherwise, avoid. No one would bring an actual client here for a “business lunch” - unless you were taking some kind of bizarre pity angle.

Be warned, this is essentially a hotel lobby bar that just happens to serve passable food. We booked ahead and even called ahead and yet our arrival was a complete mystery. Why they needed to be on Open Table is another mystery. The bartender did double duty as the waiter. Just forget this place unles of course you happen to be staying at the Westin and are way to tired to venture out.

OpenTable does not make a big deal about declaring this being in a hotel and my instincts would have rejected it based on that alone. However, the menu was very diverse and appealing, as well as nicely priced so I gave it a try. The service (Bronicka??... apologies for not remembering our server's name completely) was SUPERB! Between her helpful suggestions, knowledge of the menu, overall friendliness and professionalism, she became a critical, seamless part of our great experience. The other table attendants (we had a party of 7) were great as well. The various dishes we had were enormous, leading most of us to need a take-home box. All were very satisfied. I went out on a food limb and ordered the Poutine (a dish originating from the Canadian province of Quebec consisting of French fries and cheese curds topped with a brown gravy)... rather interesting. The W&V has them with tater tots... I might have had more to say if it was regular french fries (likely less potato-ey), but it was worth the order. Great time, great food, great service!

Incredibly disappointed. They took the theme and went nowhere with it. Nothing at all movie related with the menu or the facility. Completely wasted opportunity by the Westin.

I made a last minute reservation for 11 people. There were 2 Vegans, 1 Vegetarian and 1 under 12 tween. Everyone was pleased with the food. A special vegan dinner was prepared. The server, Bernita, was absolutely top shelf. She remembered everyone's name and could not have been nicer without being in your face. Very professional. I would return just for that.
