Very cute restaurant with great ambiance and decor. It has west village vibes. Biggest downside is that the cocktails are batch made which shouldn’t be the case for a nicer restaurant with pricier drinks. Food was great- recommend the crispy octopus for an appetizer. The octopus was super tender and I loved the pesto and dip it came with. Margherita pizza was delicious and cooked perfectly. Spaghetti with lobster was also a treat and came with a good amount of lobster.

I wanted to share this pic as I lived around the corner at 4th & Master in 1990-2009 and thought you would hang on the wall if you don’t have this one. 7/14/1916
Great food. Cool bar. Service is hit or miss but worth a visit.

Wm. Mulherin’s Sons remains one of those Philly spots that is solid. Housed in a beautifully restored building, the ambiance strikes a balance between rustic charm and modern polish. When the music isn’t cranked up too loud, it’s an ideal setting for a night out — cozy, stylish, and easy to settle into for a long meal.
The food is consistently solid — elevated Italian with thoughtful ingredients and bold, satisfying flavors. It’s the kind of menu that feels well-rounded without being overwhelming. Cocktails are well-executed, and the wine list has some great options to complement the dishes.
Service is good, if not particularly memorable. Everyone is polite and efficient, but it lacks the warmth or personality that might make the experience feel more personal. Still, the overall experience — especially when the sound levels are right — makes it one of the more dependable, enjoyable restaurants in the city. A go-to for a special night or when you want to impress out-of-towners with a Philly gem.

Worst experience ever. We have been to the restaurant multiple times. We booked a room at the hotel. We get into the room the air condition does not work. The staff gives us attitude and try to explain that they have no idea why it is not working. They have a portable fan in the room so they obviously know it is not working. We came to this restaurant multiple times a year. We will never come back and will never recommend this place again to anyone. It is very sad because we loved this placed and recommend it to multiple people .

Everything was flavorful, excellent service, and cozy atmosphere. Probably some of the best bread service I've ever had.

I love this place so much oh my god. The food is INCREDIBLE like where am I. The focaccia makes me cry actually. The wait staff is all so kind and professional. They have a cozy fire & it’s super cozy. My only suggestion is that they add live music like a jazz duo or trio but I’m a jazz singer so I’m a little biased
