I had a big lunch so wanted something light and healthy. Ordered just the crab cake entree and it was absolutely delicious! Presentation very wonderful with roasted vegetables and a red pepper coulis.

Me, my husband and our son dined there for the first time on Father's Day. I was excited to go to a new BYOB spot after looking over the menu weeks prior. On this particular day I had made reservations thinking it would be busy and we basically had the place to ourselves, which was a bit surprising. To start we had the oysters, the oysters were good but my husband and I both like a little tobacco and horseradish and the normal “fixings” and they didn't offer or have that available. We also had the garlic shrimp which were very good. I choose the stripped bass for dinner, it wasn't bad, but could have used more flavors. My husband had the halibut and said it was “OK”, he didn't seem impressed. He also made the comment that there wasn't much flavor. For dessert I had the cheesecake, it was good but nothing to talk about. I even asked if they made it in house and they don't. Overall the experience wasn't bad but I guess I expected better. Our server didn't have too much of a personality which kind of disappointed, at times you felt as though you were bothering him. I might give it another try on a different day but not too eager to go back. A little bit of a disappointment for Lafayette Hill.

Because this place was so wonderful the first time, when the owner was there, we decided to have my friends birthday celebration here. I remembered that they made a special dish, as a vegan, and The chef came up with a root vegetable medley that was spectacular! This time, there were different things on the menu so we were excited. Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared, however, there were a few issues. Very allergic to nightshade vegetables, I asked for no peppers and no onions on the vegan dish, and if I could have some maitaki mushrooms, like my friend ordered for his skirt steak, which he enjoyed very much. Well, first I got a very pretty plate covered with different colored PEPPERS, which I am very allergic to, and had already explained. Then, they took it back, put it on a smaller plate, covered with ONIONS, the second request to make sure it is not on the plate... even after there was talk of green vegetables to be added, there were none! Finally, as my friend was completely finished his dinner, I received mine, slightly cold, with at least a little bit of the mushrooms chopped up very small, hiding in the couscous, which, was not gluten-free. Their salads, are excellent, and made up for it. But as a vegan, they had no dessert for me. My friend enjoyed his cake with berries, so I asked for some berries... Again, by the time he was finished his dessert, a little bowl of blueberries with 4 strawberries appeared, on the house. Also, we said yes to the watermelon gazpacho hoping that watermelon would be vegan, but we think they put grated cheese in it, ruining the vegan status! When we asked, no one could tell us what was in it. Lastly, We explained that it was my friend's birthday, but they never put a candle on his cake. I think we must be spoiled, what we are used to. This restaurant has a lot of potential. We hope to give them another chance to redeem the quality, and the service. We hoped, that they would be a" neighborhood gem".

Mixed bag, but overall disappointed. Nice ambience, good for conversation. But food is hit or big miss. Not sure who is doing all the 5 star reviews??? What was good: meats, seafood, and desserts. What wasn't: side dishes were all undercooked. Risotto was my biggest disappointment, grainy, and it could have made the meal...alas.

Overall - still early to judge but generally our dining experience was good. Service was great - waiter was informative and pleasant - although he forgot one of our sides which was delivered after we finished our meal and it took forever to get our check. Grilled shrimp appetizer was fabulous. And our entrees (halibut and chicken) were excellent - albeit somewhat swimming in oil which needs to go. Lots of room and even though fairly crowded - not noisy and conversation was easy. I will definitely go back but not running back.

Great for fish.our waiter was efficient and friendly. But the best thing was the wonderful selection of fresh fish which is a rarity in our area I tried the halibut and my wife had the wild salmon. Both were excellent Notation was two $$ signs but I think it is more expensive than that. So would change to three It is a BYOB which is excellent and the best upscale restaurant in the area allowing byob Our first time but a good find

Quiet, superb decor, wonderful service from Dorothea (efficient, helpful, enjoys serving, cheery). As for the food, the roasted mushroom soup was excellent. The truffle fries were disappointingly soggy (in contrast to others' reviews, but maybe I should have ordered the truffle/mac/cheese). The hamburger was very good, but next time I'll try what Dorothea recommended (crispy salmon and another thing I forget).

The service was very good, and the BYOB aspect is always a plus; the only thing preventing my food rating from being a 5 is that 2 of our 3 dishes were oversalted (and trust me, I like salt). The servings were more than generous (I got 2 meals out of mine), and the short rib was amazingly tender. There are plenty of tantalizing entrees to choose from, so we will definitely be re-visiting sometime soon (dessert tray looked fantastic as well, but we didn't partake).

Second time at Dishez and it was excellent. My first trip was a couple weeks after it opened and the place was mobbed on a Saturday night and the service was slow and a little confused...but the food then was still delicious!

This French fusion bistro has a wide-ranging menu of seafood, meat and vegetarian options for any pallet and every dish I tasted surpassed my expectation. I had the pleasure of tasting a perfectly balanced roasted mushroom soup, succulent pan seared scallops, tender collosal shrimp in a delicious herb and garlic sauce, a tangy short rib that melted off the bone and a cloud-like creme brûlée crisped to perfection. The wait staff was very friendly, attentive and had an in depth knowledge of how each dish had been crafted. This restaurant is a truly a hidden gem and I highly recommend checking out this newest addition to the Philadelphia gourmet scene.

I had a surprisingly good meal at this restaurant. I found it on Yelp and decided to try it on a whim. Food was Really Good and I felt the atmosphere really friendly. They went out of their way to make you feel welcome.

I literally have no idea who is reviewing this place with such praise- seems like all BS after the experience my bf and I had. We eat all over the city and this place was just sad to us, the ambience is no better than a nursing home. We left after the inedible appetizer- the fried artichoke with lemon aioli. Artichoke was so salty we couldn't eat it. It also seemed like the oil wasn't hot enough when they fried it. The “aioli”was pure butter and mayo and lacked any flavor- it was disgusting! Service was poor, the waitress (DJ) asked us if we wanted water but offered us nothing else. Utensils were dirty as were the share plates. The “roasted grapes” they give you to start we're not even roasted and just tasted bad. We ended up across the street at The General and had a nice time.

I normally hate shrimp. But the garlic/wine/herb one here, fantastic. I'm not a fish person - and this place is seafood- fish heavy, but still found plenty of things on the menu I ordered and loved. My boyfriend is a vegetarian and they made a dish ON THE SPOT, which wasn't on the menu, just for him! And the chef brought it out and explained it! Where do you find that?! And the servers here are fun. All of them, we had several stop over to check on water levels, open our wine, bring more bread. They have Lavazza espresso! Desserts are made by own pastry chef and are the perfect amount of decadence. BYOB? Yes, please. You can indulge. Amazing!

This past week we had the most wonderful dinner! This is a new restaurant and a neighborhood gem! I met the owner, Renee, a wonderful woman! When I asked if there was anything vegan for me to eat she gave wonderful suggestions and went to spoke to the chef, Allen, Who made the most wonderful root vegetable dish with a lemony curry, roasted parsnips, and pickled asparagus! It was delicious! We also ordered the shaved a kale salad, the strawberry beat salad, the artichoke hearts, the white bean ragu, and finally, the chocolate tort!! We really enjoyed all of it!! Thank you!!! We'll be back!!

Visited this neighborhood gem for the second time, and was even more delighted on this visit. Started with an amazing soft shell crab, dressed with a lemon saffron aioli that was out of this world. Next we had a strawberry beet salad that was both unique and wonderful, the whipped honey goat cheese added just the right touch. For dinner I had the striped Bass with cous cous , and my companion had the halibut, both were wonderful. To full for dessert but definitely next time.
