The ingredients were fresh, with a huge selection to choose from- vegetables, tender meats, fresh seefood etc. The flavors are outstanding and a complimentary drink is included in a meal. Highly recommended!

Pretty good spot for some quick hotpot. I would recommend the dry pot over any of the soup options. The dry pot also comes with rice. Its pretty easy to overload if you are over zealous.

The place is very cute. The service is friendly and enthusiastic about explaining their concept.
It’s not celiac friendly, but they do have gluten free option. There’s heavy cross contamination so possible to eat at depending on sensitivity/severity.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options, heavy cross contamination. The staff is willing to check everything for you. Peanut allergies labeled v well.

Wheelchair accessibility: Not handiaccessible . Stairs to get in. Restrooms located on second floor

Unique and tasty experience!

Not bad. It's completely self-service. You grab a bowl and tongs to pick out your own toppings. The price is based on weight. Large variety of seafood, fish balls, tofu, meat, eggs, veggies, and noodles. Then you pick a soup base or dry pot base and bring items to cashier. Once the food is done cooking, they'll ring your number to go to the desk and grab the food. However, they didn't serve any water. You MUST purchase water. There were also flies at the sauce station

Broth was inconsistent to the others in my party. One was majorly spicy over the other. The meat used was not the best tasting or freshest. Service was alright. I would not go back.

Absolutely love Zhangliang Malatang in Philly!❤️ The ingredients are always fresh, and I really enjoy the customizable broth flavors—you can make it as spicy or mild as you want. The staff is super friendly and attentive, making sure you get exactly what you’re craving. It’s the perfect place for a warm, comforting meal, especially on a chilly day. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, making it a great spot to eat with friends or even alone. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for authentic and delicious hotpot-style dining!??️

I ordered a delivery on hungrypanda, noodles, squid and others, but I found that there was no squid in my meal. I contacted the them, but they did not admit it, and I said that it was slightly spicy, but it was very spicy every time. Do you never look at the list when you take orders? Do you treat takeaway and dining differently?

Interesting new concept! In this place you buy your food by the lbs! It’s 13.99/lbs and you can select your own items buffet style and choose one of the flavors, I tried the original and the yom yum and they were both good! Welcome to a new era of malatang of Chinatown!

Their soup base definitely seems to be made from instant noodle-type powder packets, likely created in a lab. Everyone I know who has eaten there had stomach issues afterward. I even felt chest congestion for no apparent reason. Plus, everything is frozen—if you're looking for something healthy, it's best to stay away. Or you will have a blast behind you for next 24 hrs

The decorations is very clean and tidy, everything is organized. The malatang orginal is midly spicy, the soup should have a little more deep flavor and the toppings area is very clean, but in general I really enjoyed the experience and the food itself was also very pleasant, would visit and recommend.

It only took me a sip of the soup to make me cry like a baby...? Forgive me for losing my cool over such simple food. It is authentic. Every spoon full is the flavor of China ??. It is a temporary cure for my homesickness. Until next time! "I'll be back!" ?
