As always, the food was terrific and the service was excellent and friendly. Always a great meal at The Black Lab

Always a decent meal at the Black Lab. Honestly though, would love to see some updating to the restaurant and the menu. Not much has changed in the past 15 years! Time to spruce it up! New coat of paint, take down the odd wall when you walk in! And for the menu, it's great to know that the scallops are good. They've always been good but maybe surprise me with an updated menu!!!!

Black Lab is one of our favorites, even for those special occasions. It is difficult to make meal choices because there are so many delicious items on the menu. Can't make a bad choice. Being a BYOB is a bonus. It can get a bit loud when the restaurant is crowded.

Excellent food! We enjoyed everything and it was super nice to watch the street from our table. We came on a quieter day and it was very pleasant.

The food was exceptional. Only sorry they don't have a liquor license or that we knew in advance to buy a bottle of wine.

I have eaten at Black Lab Bistro many times over the years and the food is consistently good. I will say it was a bit pricier this time, but still good. I went with a friend and it wasn't too crowded at the time so the noise level was not bad. It is a small place. The waiter was very attentive and did't bother us as we stayed awhile to talk. I will be coming back again.

We always have a delicious meal. Consistently good food and service. And now we have our 25 year old son going as well!

Very disappointing: our window seat reservations, made one week in advance, were ignored. The restaurant was empty, except for the row of tables by the window, we're filled with other guests. Other than that, the service was fine and three out of four of us enjoyed our meals. My fisherman's platter was excellent, but don't order the $29 fish tacos. My husband said the fish was old and had a strong ammonia taste. He could not wait to get home to brush his teeth. I'm not sure we'll be back.

I had a very simple breakfast with pancakes, but the pancakes were dry, and my eggs were overcooked. The waitress rarely came over or even looked our way. All in all the meal was mediocre at best.

The meal I got yesterday during our anniversary dinner- was definitely not worth the $35 price tag. I saw the crab cakes on a review and thought I’d try them. Just so so. The remoulade sauce tasted like boxed pasta salad sauce put in the side- you could even see the dried pepper flecks. The mashed potatoes were definitely a box variety- probably Hingry Jack and were so completely disappointing. The asparagus on the plate was the only good item- and there were only 4 tiny stalks given. This restaurant may have been good back in 2015- but is not very good anymore. Definitely would recommend another restaurant when visiting Phoenixville.

This has become our favorite brunch spot. The service is always fantastic and the food always delicious. They have some great omelet options! It is a BYOB. You can make reservations, I typically do, but you don't always need one. I can't wait for it to be warm enough to sit outside!

Black Lab never disappoints! Owners are welcoming and friendly. Everything from the fantastic appetizers like lobster bisque to entrees such as scallops, filet and butternut squash ravioli are always consistent and delicious. Can't forget to end with cinnamon roll with ice cream, crème brûlée or flourless chocolate cake. The best in phoenixville!

Wow, finally found a bad restaurant in phoenixville!

We’ve always wanted to try the Black Lab Bistro so we decided to book a reservation for 4:30 on mother’s day and brought my parents.
We arrive and we’re seated promptly the restaurant is not very busy. They take our order for appetizers and entrees at the same time. Appetizers come out relatively timely and are just okay the duck confit spring rolls are a little gamey but hey that’s duck.
We finish appetizers and then had to wait about 30 minutes for entrees to come out.
The smoked salmon fettuccine was very smoky and the fettuccine sauce was almost flavorless. Also feeling an upset stomach as I write this.
My wife ordered the chicken piccata. The chicken was terrible and extremely overcooked only ate a few bites and left the rest of the food on the plate. (Had to get takeout at Vecchia across the street)
Not once did the waiter come by to ask how everything was.

Overall the atmosphere of the restaurant was also nothing to write home about. Never will we be returning, honestly shocked at how long they’ve been in business.

Came out for mother day. They wanted like $30 for an omelette. The literally only had omelettes for Mother’s Day nothing else.

Same thing that you could get at a diner. Buko bucks, won’t be coming back.

Wonderful Mother's Day brunch! Excellent food and service. And we were out in around 1 hour. Definitely a great place in Phoenixville.
