We went there with a group of six. The groups comments were the service was very good, the beers were very good, the atmosphere was nice at the food was average at best
We went for an early dinner and drinks on a Saturday around 4 PM. We were informed that they were out of ginger beer and rum so they couldn't make the majority of the cocktails. We opted for water and were still excited to eat. We ordered and they were also out of the vegan cheese and vegan chicken. We ended up leaving because that removed the dinner options for us. I'm not sure how they can be out of the majority of the menu before Saturday evening.
Always a great time at this place don’t be confused googlers yeah, it’s is TBD bar (“TO BE DETREMINED” I looked that up on Google too ?), who knows why they didn’t update that ?♀️
Francine and I lovveee this spot and after our florida trip was excite for pierogis ?my niece saw on theyre instantgram site well the girl says we’re OUT. Nada.. we’ll screw us huh. Next time ?
Pretty good appetizers. I’ll try the drinks next time I’m not driving.
I will set the scene for you. I order a quite frankly just-ok pepper and goat cheese omelette from Nudy’s Cafe across the street. Seeing that it had began to rain, it occurred to me that it would be in my best interest find a place with some cover before my omelette gets all steamy in the styrofoam container that it’s in (a less than optimal food container). Enter the Root Down Brewing company’s outdoor patio dining area. Thank heavens, I thought. A communal space fit with tables, all under a roof. Very little activity. It must be closed, I thought. I sit down at one of the tables, thankful for a fleeting moment of dryness. Before I finish chewing my first bite, I am reproached by a contemptuous young man, presumably the owner, urging me to leave on the grounds of the outdoor dining area being “private property”. I thought, does he not see the rain? Any man with goodness of heart could plainly acknowledge this fact and allow one to continue eating. But it is a fact that we all come to understand sooner or later, that there are those who have nothing but a deep and festering scorn towards others, who cross their arms and turn their backs to the world.
My husband and I went here for the first time today. I got the hummus wrap and he got the smash burger. They were both good along with the French fries and tots. The drinks were also yummy and very reasonably priced compared to other places in town. The atmosphere was unique in a good way and the bartender was very nice. I will come back here.
We grabbed cheesesteaks from the Gazzos food truck out front, ate indoors and grabbed some drinks! We didn’t grab food but the menu looked decent and we liked the beer and cider selection. They had lemonades for our daughters as well. The staff was so friendly and attentive and the space is really cool! There is plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors and a good amount of parking in their lot!
Great beer, food, and service.
Everything on the menu has been wonderful. Also a perfect spot to go for cool events and music!
Staff is fantastic and made every aspect of my experience perfect. Easily my favorite place to go for a pint in town.
Amazing spot.
This place has a poor selection of beer and alcohol choices. Even though they don't offer an extensive option of meals, they ran out of ribeye steak sandwiches, on a Saturday at 6pm. The bar tender delivering us the bad news was passive aggressive and didn't finish taking an alternet order. This place is a horrible place to grab some food and drink. Absolutely the worst brew house I've ever visited. Don't have high expectations for this place, there are a lot of other better choices in Phoenixville.

Great vegan meal! Great setting
Not everyone buys your food...not wise to exclude those who do because they are the ones that have been there talking you up all along....
Great atmosphere... Liked the beer selection alot and the nachos were great!
We had a surprise birthday party for my brother there, and if I could give them 1000 stars, I would. Everything was great - the service, the food, the drinks, and they let us set up and do our thing in their really cool space on a Saturday night - it was priceless. Having ample parking in Phoenixville is also a huge plus. Mike and the crew at the TBD Bar were nothing short of fantastic, and the party went off without a hitch. Mike's communication throughout the planning process was great. Although we originally planned for it to be outside in the biergarten, his recommendation to move things inside prior to setup saved the day when the weather radar showed some inbound doom and gloom that night. Ultimately it ended up raining hard several times during the party so THANK YOU Mike! It couldn't have gone any better, and everyone had a great time. Also, Tom Guest was the perfect live music for my brother's 50th. He was a great fit!Highly recommend TBD Bar / Root Down Biergarten!
When ordering nachos and asking to hold a food that I'm allergic too, wait staff said "but that's the best part" we clarified it wasn't wanted.Food arrived covered in what I'm allergic to.:/
