My husband and I took my parents here when they were in town visiting. The food was incredible. Everything is locally sourced. We started with the Khachapuri for an appetizer and it was absolutely delicious. For entrees I ordered the steak and my husband ordered the trout. Both were delicious and the accompaniments were paired flawlessly I ordered a glass of Merlot and paired great with the strip steak. For the finale (dessert) the table all ordered 4 different ones. I had the carrot cake and it was exceptional. Hands down the best carrot cake I’ve ever had. I also tried the lemon tart my mom got and it was incredible as well. My husband ordered the Affogato and that was yummy, too! A huge shout out to our hostess who made sure our daughter who is in a car seat was seated comfortably at our table! The ambiance was amazing, too! Love that it’s connected to a bookstore AND they had live jazz music. Just WOW! We can’t get over how overall delicious our meal was and will be thinking about our experience fondly for days and weeks to come! Thank you!

The food is always good! Sad they don’t have lamb chops anymore. But Sunday brunch is so delicious. We eat here often. Only downside is they serve tap water.

Have been for dinner many times - it is always an outstanding experience. Went with friends for brunch for the first time. It was a good experience. Pumpkin bread and beet yoghurt dip were delicious, rest of the dishes were ordinary. The service was a bit sporadic

Great ambience. Waiter was spot on! Friendly, incredibly helpful. The Paloma is a must try. Such a smooth tasty cocktail. So many gluten friendly choices. Hubby had the Khachapuri and roast chicken which were so flavorful. And the barbecue mushrooms was a wonderful vegetarian dish that came with celery root schnitzel-yum!

Always wonderful. It's a bit higher priced for the Pittsburgh market, but it always feels (and tastes) worth it. The food is fantastic, the cocktails are delicious and creative.

The food and the cocktails are really good. Quality ingredients prepared well and served unpretentiously, with generous portions too. The back of the menu tells you where everything is sourced, which is nice to know. The smashed and fried potatoes are perfect.

Three of us were attending a concert at City of Asylum and decided to have dinner at 40 North beforehand - our first time for either experience. It was a completely magical evening. We went for the specific concert having chosen the meal venue simply as a convenience but left very excited to have found an instant favorite new restaurant. We are each picky eaters/drinkers and found that the menu delighted us despite our varied preferences. The local sourcing of food items is a huge plus; the preparation and pairing of each dish is sophisticated but comfortable; and the beverage menu is outstanding. The service was both attentive and unobtrusive, especially while the concert was going on. Well done!!!

Great experience for brunch. So much food. We started with the Three Green Salad as an appetizer. I had the omelet. My friend had the sweet potato dish. To top it off we had to try the homemade bagel with chive cream cheese. We had food to eat the next day...we can't wait to go back.

Honestly had an amazing evening at 40 North. The ambience was lovely, the cocktails my friend and I got were incredible, and the food was to die for. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions/recommendations. Will definitely be going back!

This place is beautiful and serves excellent, farm-to-table, exquisite food! Our server was down to earth, gave great feedback on menu items, was attentive and friendly. We went during a jazz concert which made it even more special. Highly recommend!

Fabulous food! Flavor and presentation were exceptional, prices totally fair and such a. Unique location. We were lucky enough to be there a night they had a jazz performance which was amazing. Just go, thank me later ;-)

This is a unique place. It's small and cozy. Not many tables. Service was friendly and efficient but not overly professional. For example, plates cleared before finished, water not being refilled...but acceptable for a casual place. The food, however, was amazing. Very flavorful, a foodie's delight. The wings were more than the norm, spinach salad was out of this world, my wife raved about the falafel and my lamb sirloin was fantastic. Fair prices. We'll be back.

Nothing is better than a lovely dinner accompanied by tremendous live jazz. We had a great time and look forward to visiting again. The menu is delicious, with a perfect mix of ecclectic and familiar items. The service is PERFECT! And the whole vibe of the place is so cool. Love.It.

Great food and great service. Really enjoy that it becomes the complementary restaurant to events at Alphabet City when those are happening. It's a really special unique place.

the Beet appetizer is amazing, we have had it before, but go back again and again. So bright and fresh! The sides with the New York Strip were great. the only thing that pulled the rating down was the steak. While it was very flavorful, it was tough. have had the Ribeye before and it was better. the Baked Alaska was luscious! Interesting wines by the glass, I had the Bobal which I have never had before and it was tasty and interesting.
