“This hidden gem check all the good boxes! It takes a bit longer to get your food but it really is worth the wait. Our waitress was super nice and it was a very clean place. They have some of the best tasting fries you can get here. Very low noise level and no wait time to get seated. Prices are very reasonable. There is lots of parking in a lot right next door and some behind the building. This used to be Toms Diner. Very nice menu. If you haven't been here you really should try it”

“We came here for my sister's birthday and ordered crab Rangoon, fried pork belly, vegetable samosa, momo dumplings, red,yellow, and green curries, and also the spicy noodles. The crab Rangoon and fried porkbelly were our table's favorites and the momo dumplings were super tender. The fried chicken breast on the spicy noodles were very tender ? overall a fantastic experience at a super friendly family owned restaurant. Would highly recommend!”

“I come from a Mexican family in California, so when I moved to Pittsburgh, I was deeply disappointed at the lack of good, authentic Mexican food. When I found this place, I rejoiced! “Beyond being some of the (if not the sole) best Italian food I have ever had, what stands out most about Dish Osteria is their commitment to true hospitality; we arrived early to have drinks at the bar, and from the start we were treated with care and true personal interest. The bartender was so insightful and walked us through the menu, answering any questions we might have so that we could order our dinner with ease (it was last Wednesday at 8PM— I forget his name, but please give him his flowers. He was amazing!). I had the Little Bird bourbon cocktail and absolutely loved it. This level of care continued as we moved to our table for dinner. Our waiter and host went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meal, refreshing our bread without us having to ask (that homemade focaccia was dangerous— we couldn’t stop eating it!), suggesting wine pairings, and also allowing us to taste two options when we couldn’t choose. Every single dish we ordered was phenomenally crafted and delicious ; we ordered the Gamberi shrimp and grilled artichoke salad to start, followed by the short rib ragu gnocchi and rigatoni with smoked scamorza for our entrees (I will dream about both of these dishes for some time). For dessert, we had the lemon cello cheesecake, which was perfectly balanced with sweet and tangy flavors. Our waiter also provided us with a complimentary glass of moscato with our dessert. This was a phenomenal first experience at this restaurant and I cannot wait to come back. I’m also gifting a visit here to some of my friends for their anniversary and can’t wait for them to try it as well!”

“I had the oyster mushroom sandwich. I felt like they could have added more mushroom because the bun is very thick but it was still delicious. The plantains I could tell were a bit old however. The portion sizes are also a bit small. The sorrel drink I had was on point though. I definitely recommend this place I just think there's opportunity to improve.”

Black cod with a hint of heat and spice or a hong kong style sea bass or some delectable scallops.The shellfish tower was light on content for $80 but made up for with good flavor.Cocktails can be hit or miss and I found them to be fairly weak.Service was top notch and our hostess was very knowledgeable and friendly.”

“Wendy the waitress was amazing. She did a fantastic job and was always there to serve our needs. The pasta on the menu was amazing as was all the sides we had. The only down side was that I wanted a Bolognaise pasta and Wendy told me that it was not on the menu, but they could make up a batch for me. First off, unlike the other pasta's on the menu that were amazing, the Bolognaise dish that the chef threw together for me was mediocre at best. Not to mention, I was charged $46 for the sauce and $3 for the noodles? For a plate of pasta that was not good at all. When all of the other dishes offered much more of a delicious pasta at half the cost. Long story short, don't order off the menu and you will enjoy this very much.”

“I moved away from Pittsburgh a couple years ago and I always regretted not trying Scratch & Co. I finally got a little reunion group together for brunch when I came back in town for a wedding, and I was blown away. The decor is charming, artful, and full of thoughtful antique restoration mixed with modern touches. The food was absolutely fantastic, I had the smash burger and also tried the bagel with schmear and shakshuka. So rare to find really good bagels in Pittsburgh and Scratch & Co. has them! I had an old fashioned donut as well which was also awesome. And the service was perfection as well. We had a great time, I can't wait to come back, I only wish I had made it more often before I left.”

The attentiveness of the staff was particularly a highlight -- different dishes and utensils for each part of the meal showed an attentiveness to the experience. The food is inventive on simple themes, which we loved (but also felt like it didn't hit on some things).Overall, it was a great experience, but I think for what it was, the price is just a little too high (and thus the 4 stars instead of 5). Specifically, some of the food pairings were a little off, and the environment is a bit cluttered. Nothing bad for a slightly less expensive restaurant, but at this price point it's a 4/5 for me.”

“I've always been fond of Ciao, partially because I rarely had to pay for the food there thanks to casino comps and food vouchers, but honestly they have hands down the best desserts in Pittsburgh. The food is cheap and delicious, but the dessert is the highlight. Tried their cannoli, apple dumpling, mango cheesecake bomb, and the very reason I'm writing this review -- italian cupcake!! Before this cupcake I've never really understood women's obsession with cupcakes, it's a cake with some icing, sure it's small and cute, but I was so sure nothing about the taste of a cupcake can possibly impress me a big deal. and well, this one did! it was a very nice buttery walnut/pecan pound cake, filled with egg custard (the kind you would normally find in a fruit tart), and topped with cream cheese (not the shitty sugary icing, it actually taste like a cheesecake on top of a butter pound cake!) and the walnut/shredded coconut on top is a nice touch too. For the first time I feel the inflated price on cupcakes are totally justified, in fact this one should cost more!! God damn I gotta get this recipe. and their cannoli recipe! (side note: I was comparatively unimpressed with their tiramisu and bearclaw, not because those are bad, just because the other desserts are too good! - just for reference, in case you're picking between several options as I always am)”

Took a long time to get the food and I ordered the Crepes but they brought them out like 30 minutes later and already boxed up to take home... they were soggy and I ended up throwing them away after 2 bites. I tried the egg tarts, cream puffs, and crispy pineapple buns.The egg tarts were quite tasty. Not too strong of a flavor and relatively light, for an egg tart. They are small and perfect for a quick dessert. Nothing too crazy, but simple and tasty.The pineapple bun unfortunately didn’t have any real pieces of pineapple on it. But, it was still very good. The dough itself is very soft, fluffy, and airy. It is not heavy by any means. The top is crispy and sugary, but the bun itself doesn’t have a ton of flavor. There’s something in the middle but it’s not too discernible. Still, quite tasty.Finally, the cream puff. This was huge and delicious! It was filled with tons of cream, which was surprisingly not too sweet, and more buttery, almost. The dough is also tasty, similar to that of the bun. I’d highly recommend this.All in all, this is an amazing bakery in Mt. Lebo, and one of the few Asian bakeries near the city. Great menu, solid prices, lots of variety. Their also located on a cobble stone which sucks to drive and park on BUT with all of that said, people keep going there because it's good food. Great group of guys working there as well.”

I can tell the owner really cares about the food here it shows. I had the gyro wrap with fries and it was delicious. The house made hot sauce that came with it was awesome and the tzatziki sauce mixed with the lamb was some of the best food I've had. I'd absolutely recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be coming back!”

“*Come here for the BEST vegan cinnamon rolls EVER* While in Pittsburgh for vacation, we learned about this all vegan bakery! WOW! So glad we stopped in for a morning treat! Beautiful store front with the sweetest ladies- we were welcomed by soooo many (all vegan!) goodies! We got a massive choco chip cookie & cinnamon roll to go! The cookie was massive, still hot from the morning baking, melty, doughy & delicious!The cinnamon roll was legit the BEST I’ve ever had! Mind blown! First off, it was huge. It was super doughy in the inside but perfect flake on the outside. Loaded with melted frosting, cinnamon - it was perfect. I have had a LOT of vegan baked goods in my life time but this place knows what’s up! Vegan or not- come here for the best massive cinnamon rolls of your life.”

My order arrived exactly as I ordered it and they didn't miss any of the sides. They have a huge selection of desserts and I got the sweet potato pie, it tastes like my 95 yr old grandma from Tennessee made it! Get the homemade healthy green tea drink, you won't be disappointed! We had a Young teens birthday party there where the bowing alley offers min charge $120 for 8 people. We understood this going in. We only had 5 teens 3 adults. Everyone bowled 1 game the adults had to buy their own drinks even though we paid for (8) the adults were also not allowed to eat. We were told prices went up blame the government. (Wow) so we ordered 3 cokes adults also not permitted to eat so we ordered food. The kids each got a small rectangle of pizza and a few French fries along with their included drink. So not even 1 whole pizza for the party? Was very confused. We could have gone there based on normal pricing paid 40 bucks less everyone would have eaten drank cokes bowl more than 1 game for alot less money. So BE CAREFUL. We did have a hostess as well that will also cost you tip. Our hostess was awesome this experience was not their fault. It was mine for not doing better research. So I'm short if your having a party there skip the party through them and go Alacarte.”

At that point, the service was very strong. We tried several dishes, including the salad, miso soup, sashimi plate, nigiri plate, and some hand rolls (mushroom, eel, scallop). We have been on a steakhouse journey throughout Pittsburgh and this place is up there as one of our favorites. Service was very attentive and always checking in on us. To start, we shared crab cakes and Ruth Chris salad which were already winners. The steaks, both filets, were done to our liking and stayed warm until the last bite. As a side, we opted for sautéed spinach with garlic which paired really well with the steaks. We were full but decided to round out our meals with desserts - so we each got the cheesecake and chocolate sinful cake. While they were delectable, we wished that we shared since they were both so luxurious. We made sure not to leave any crumbs on the plate. “This place is AMAZING! My mom and I are in town for a college tour, and many people were walking around with the ice cream so I suggested we give it a try. Immediately the two guys in there were delightful and very helpful and cheery. The atmosphere was so fun the moment we walked in. The flavors were amazing and I almost couldn’t choose between the Thin Mint and the Pittsburgh Pride. I ended up going with the latter. It is like brownie/oreo/cookie chunks and butterscotch. There might be another thing added. My mom got the pear flavor. We are both extremely satisfied with our choices. They did say that the flavors change up pretty often - for example, they’re getting ready for Blackberry Lemonade. But Pittsburgh Pride will always be available. So if you’re looking for a cute little dessert place after dinner, this is the place!”

Staff are pretty great, fast service, atmosphere is chill and nice. The prices are darn good for what you get.Vegetarian options: You can substitute any of the noodles with tofu or no protein too. I went around 1 and had no wait, but one day a few weeks ago I stuck my head in at 12 and it was packed.”

Tonight it was chicken parmigiana with angel hair and a side salad with fried zucchini as an appetizer for me, while my dad did the build-your-own-pasta with gnocchi and carbanara (bacon, mushroom cream) sauce and caesar salad. They said it would be an hour and it was only 30 minutes. I don't know how the fried zucchini travels and still arrives crispy, but they do it, and it's awesome, large slices, very generous, like a whole zucchini, with crisp, though not too thick, breading. It does not include a dip, only lemon wedges, but I have ranch dressing here. The chicken parmigiana was two large breasts, breaded, moist, and smothered in sauce and cheese. The side salads are generous with a thick slice of cucumber, grape tomato, red onion, and lettuce (the caesar - not real authentic but good - with croutons, black olives, grape tomatoes, lettuce, and parm cheese). We are never disappointed and always have leftovers. The one time something was wrong with our order, they promptly came back with what was missing and gave us a credit. “I came for their industry night and it was great. They have a variety of ginger beer (alcohol and non), cocktails, and local craft beer. The space is a modern and comfortable vibe. There is a small space with a fire pit to hang out outside as well. They did have a food truck while I was there this visit. Not sure if they will continue to have trucks-but there is definitely space for rotating food trucks. The ginger beers were great and their mule was super refreshing and delicious. I'm looking forward to them opening up full time soon.”

“I only wish this existed when I was going to college nearby at La Roche. Apparently a Crazy Mocha once existed in Passavant, but I never made my way to it unfortunately. I have, however, been to some other hospital coffee shops, like the Starbucks in Presby in Oakland. Not only is this Starbucks new, but it looks like some of the main hall at the Passavant entrance was redone too. There are plenty of tables and chairs out front so you can gaze out the window, and the large atrium seating area is nearby. Inside there is ample seating like any location, with an area off to the right to buy branded cups and mugs. Given that it's the holiday season and the special drinks were available I decided to try the white peppermint mocha. The cafe was not too busy for a weekday in the midafternoon, so I was waited on right away. Only a few hospital employees wondered in while I was sitting, as well as a few visitors. Nothing too unique about this location design wise, it's your typical dimly lit but nicely done spot. There is some interesting hospital history and displays father down the hall to explore, as well as the chapel and gift shop.”
