“My dine-in experience at this cute café was very good. It is moderately priced, and they are friendly, fast and efficient! We came with a pretty large group of 10 and they were able to find seating for all of us. I would definitely recommend coming with a smaller group of four or less just because the atmosphere is very quaint and cozy. The staff was amazing and I definitely recommend!“
“I was curious about this place because every time I drive by, they're packed. Today I thought, why not try them out. Well I now will only go to this drive thru as my quick coffee pickup. I'm honestly annoyed at myself for not doing this earlier. I'm so tired of giving money to megacorps like dunkin' and Starbucks. This coffee is really solid and they have a wide selection. The prices are cheaper than Starbucks and the quality is the same, if not better. I will be a regular customer for sure!I now want them to open up a ton more locations throughout the city. I feel like the business plan is amazing, you have a small lot with low infrastructure costs and minimal staff. They were quite ingenious on the placement, making use of the roads turning lane to provide 2 different drive thru directions. No megacorp coffee place has something like this. I just hope that the workers get paid a fair wage and that the business stays profitable, it's hard to compete against coffee giants and I wish them the best!“
“Wow!! What a little treasure to have here in the north hills! The pho broth is so flavorful; the basil and other toppings were fresh and delicious. Also tried the shrimp summer rolls and the pork belly bahn mi - both superb options. The bread on the bahn mi was so good. I can't wait to go back to get another one!! Totally recommend Little Viet Kitchen :)“
“I just traveled to Pittsburgh for the first time and coffee is always one of the first things I look for. Sprudge is a generally reliable source for great coffee recommendations in different cities, and I came across Commonplace in their 2015 guide of Pittsburgh cafes. Happy to report that 9 years later Commonplace still has a spot at the top! Really great brewed coffee, delicious espresso drinks, small quality focused menu, and a super friendly and hospitable staff. The location on Buena Vista is also great. Thanks, Commonplace!“
“The BEST matcha bar in Pittsburgh. They have so many options: Ice cream matcha floats, energizing matcha, matchabucha (yep, kombucha in matcha), and matcha cookies/rice treats. Super unique. They also have local honey, tons of unique finds for your at home matcha needs, and tons of matcha powders. Their staff is awesome! We love everyone that works there and enjoy visiting quite often! Highly, highly recommend!“
“Really really great customer service, and the açaí is equally as amazing! I think it’s the owner, didn’t catch his name (taller man with glasses)…he was so incredible. They are so quick and efficient and just so personable. 10/10 ALWAYS“
“The coffee is absolutely delicious as are the various snacks they provide like cookies and muffins. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful for suggestions on what you'd like. I don't drink coffee much and she matched me to the perfect type for me. The store is a cute hole in the wall you won't regret going too. Love it!“
“What a gem! So glad we can get Vietnamese egg coffee in Pittsburgh! The milk tea here is also incredible. He uses fresh mangos for the mango matcha and it is SO good. You can taste the freshness and quality in all his drinks. The owner is super friendly. Really hoping this place takes off!“
“Very personable, welcoming. Coffee shop establishment with homemade delicious almond Danish, date cookies that go with the specialty coffee made with date paste- to die for. Brothers who operate the place ate very kindKid-friendliness: Open environment, caters more to coffee/tea drinkers. Is pet friendly, I observed doggie treats and water bowlWheelchair accessibility: Doorways are wide enough for a wheelchair“
“EVERY !! TIME that we got the strip -we stop here for one of their coffees / lattes and GET some old favorites and try a new one.Parking: PARK IN THE $15 LOT ON THE CORNER OF THE NEXT BLOCK DOWN IF THERES NO STREET PARKING . ITS ONLY A HUNDRED FEET AWAY AND CENTRALLY LOCATED TO MANY OF THE STORES.“
“Will absolutely make multiple return visits! This place is such a hidden gem, and much more spacious inside than it appears from the street. Great coffee and food, and MUCH more affordable than expected. I parked in one of the dedicated for spots for free, then got a 12oz drip coffee with a delicious breakfast sandwich, all for less than $6. Can't wait to try out more on their menu! To top it off, the WiFi is strong for working or studying, and there are clean restrooms on-site. Happy I discovered this place!Parking: A few free spots are located next to the shop. Street parking is free in the permit parking zones according to the hours on the signs. Otherwise, paid parking can be found in the area.“
“Redhawk in Sharpsburg is hands down, my favorite coffee shop in Pittsburgh. I have been to many others in the city, and I have not found any other place with such consistently good espresso and friendly staff. The staff go above and beyond to make me and my family feel welcomed every time we visit. They gladly fill my reusable cup with any drink I order, sell us glass jars of milk to take home, and they even have some toys and books for kids to occupy themselves for a bit. While food options are limited, they often have pop ups on weekends. The space can get busy, but if you do get a seat, it is a nice place to relax and people watch over some coffee.“
“This is honestly one of my favorite places to go for my morning coffee and little treat before work. They staff are so kind, the food is delicious, and their iced lattes are always good. The environment there is super relaxed, and I love talking to the regulars that go (and petting their dogs as well).Absolutely would recommend this place to everyone.“
“We stopped here for breakfast during a weekend getaway. The employees were super nice! We got pastries for us and our two daughters, and lattes. Everything was amazing, Especially the cinnamon roll and caramel apple latte! We will definitely be back in the future when visiting.“
“My favorite pittsburgh coffee shop! Great prices for great coffee and friendly service. They are always quick with my order and helpful with recommending new options to try when I cannot decide. Highly recommend stopping here over any other coffee shop when on Walnut street!“
“What a fantastic little gem! Food was real and fresh, coffee was quite tasty, and they seem to have a philosophy of community to enrich their area (allowing people to use space, etc). One note is that some of the pricing doesn't make sense. Getting a full breakfast is just $2 more than getting just avacado toast. A small coffee is $1.50 (best coffee deal in Pittsburgh!! ), a large is like $3.50.“
“The most efficient and lovely coffee shop on the corner! A great location, it is only a minute away from the great City of Asylum bookstore, the Alphabet city restaurant and the beautiful Aviary across the street. The interior design was simple, but really heartwarming and nice (exposed bricks, hardwood, SPOTLESS and tall windows). We visited them twice in the two days we stayed in Pittsburgh and had amazing Matcha and lattes. The baristas were really talented and understanding, they didn't add too much syrup to my coffee just like I asked and their breakfast egg sausage and bagel was so amazing I had to go back and get one more. I highly recommend this location!!Dietary restrictions: They are ery Careful about asking you about any allergens that might exist in their food, especially with milk types.Parking: The ally behind the coffee shop and next to it have free parking on the weekends!“
“I'm happy this Caffe Mona is here in the strip, because it's got a great vibe that's relaxed (no tvs, low music), and great fresh food. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the savory crepe. I will be going back for sure.Only (small) complaint is that my plate had like 8 chips which felt like an afterthought and not a side.If you've never been, it can be a surprise to see a menu that's basically just crepes (sweet or savory) and omelettes. It seems like they have a burger, but it's not the main thing.“
“Coffee shop with breakfast and lunch options and a dining area with a super nice atmosphere... fireplace, exposed rafters and well decorated. Order at the counter and they bring it to your table. I had a delicious spinach omelet, which came with today and well seasoned home fries and toast. Owner is friendly and welcoming. Great place for coffee and a meal.“
“The famous coffee shop located on the strip! We stopped in & it was busy! Beautiful coffee shop with the best chill vibes! Staff was friendly. Latte with oat milk was delicious & STRONG! Loved the entire vibe of this coffee shop! The aged brick, natural light & cheerful vibes was such a pleasant atmosphere.“
“Really great space, had the sausage egg and cheese on a croissant, only 4 bucks. It was good. Had the Roz cold brew which is cheesecake coldbrew with red velvet cold foam. It was really tasty. Staff was super friendly. Great varieties of drink and food items from hot food to pastries.“
“Visited Pittsburgh after completing the GAP trail. On our way out we wanted something quick, coffee, food and with a cool atmosphere. This place had it all! We got the turkey club sandwich, pesto chicken sandwich and strawberry salad and a white mocha and chai latte with vanilla all were delicious. If we lived here we would be regulars. Also love the community vibe.“
“We decided to walk through the Southside down to the Highline to see what's new. We checked out the Burgers menu and then continued to De fer @ The Highline to take the chill off. Arriving around 11am, it was quiet with just the right music buzz and volume for a pleasant stay. The barrista was pleasant and set to making our cappuccinos like a real coffee shop. They were beautifully presented and delicious. The shop has a french motif but opens to a modern industrial lobby with comfy chairs, where it seems a number of small work meetings were taking place. The lobby is large, and the furniture is well spaced for privacy. The lobby has charging available for electronics. As a bonus, if you are reducing your carbon footprint, the parking garage has vehicle charging stations. We left De fer for a walk on the trail as noon approached, and the shop got busier with people coming in for snacks, salads, and cold drinks.“
“I've stopped by this establishment a few times and I fall in love with this place more each and every time. I took my partner here for brunch and it was lovely! Expect a hello when you step inside, they're happy to welcome you in! The atmosphere is calm and I love the vibe. The last time I was here, the walls were much darker and had an unfortunate cave effect (peering in from the sidewalk, it had been very dark inside). The fresh coat of paint does a LOT to brighten up the space. It's so warm and inviting, like a latte! :) The art from local artists really makes the joint feel connected to the local community, and I can really appreciate the support/platform they offer (the pieces are for sale, which is really cool). The staff are patient, kind, and knowledgeable. I will definitely be making an effort to come here more in the future! Thank you!“
“Good drinks and good vibes. Margaux is a nice addition to the East Liberty area! I got a matcha latte and it was delicious. My husband got a draft beer. Not sure why they put it in a wine glass but it made him feel fancy. The place is filled plants and beautiful modern artwork.“
“This place is very much worth the 20 min drive outside the city. You’re always greeted by the friendly staff as soon as you walk in. They have so many different options to choose from. The different coffee/smoothie drink options they offer are awesome. The best breakfast sandwich anyway you like them. There isn’t space for dining in but it is “Curbside on the Run” it doesn’t take away from the awesome customer service, atmosphere and quality of food. I tell everyone about this place!“
“I spend a lot of time in New York City and regularly stash bagels from my favorite spot there in my luggage to bring home. Talking to a local NYC transplant friend recently about few Pittsburgh bagels measure up, she asked if I had tried Pigeon. She said anytime she goes, she brings home a dozen to freeze. I knew she would not steer me wrong so, before the New Year's Day holiday, I decided to set out to fill my freezer with some really good bagels.Pigeon is a tiny spot with a few parking spots for patrons, but you will most likely find street parking around the corner. You will then wait in a short line until it's your turn to go in, as they allow five patrons in the small shop at once. The staff is so friendly, helpful and efficient. There are only about a handful of bagel types, schmears and sandwiches, so your choices should be quick. I got half a dozen to take home, a container of fig and honey cream cheese that sounded absolutely dreamy, and could not pass up a sandwich with vegan carrot lox to try. They even have a herb tofu schmear. Amazing!!The garlic and sea salt bagel combines two of my favorite bagel flavors and is absolutely delicious. Just the right amount of crunch and chewiness; this is a true NY style bagel. My vegan carrot lox, which came with red onions and capers as well, was such a treat. I've never had actual lox since I've been a vegetarian since age 5, but this had a rich savory, smoky taste, and it was clear how much thought and care had been put into the ingredients. I was so impressed with this offering, both in the fact that it existed at all and in its execution.I also got a delicious cold brew, and the first of my half dozen bagels at home was so delicious with the slightly sweet, creamy, fig-dotted cream cheese. I'm guessing you can't go wrong with anything you order here. I am sure I will be back far too often than is good for my waistline. Wonderful.“
“I love this place so much! Organic, fair trade, and the talented Baristas make the best lattes. The Chai is a must have, as it is actually real ground spices, not a concentrate. They have some grab and go food options that are delicious, but Ive also stopped in for waffles on the weekend. So yummy!“
“This place has become a staple for our family since moving into the South Hills area. The small diner feel where the staff remembers your name and order before you can get the words out...this is it!! I love their Western Omelets and the Cinnamon Raisin Toast. But there's nothing in the menu subpar“
“My husband and I love checking out coffee shops on the weekends. This place was super cute inside with an upstairs loft that would be fantastic to setup and work remotely from. We were there on a Saturday morning around 10:30 and it was fairly busy but not too noisy. My husband had an espresso and I had a cappuccino, we thought they were both above average. The food was decent. It seems like they get their food from a couple of different local places. Overall we really just loved the vibe in here.“
“I love this place, it’s my favorite local coffee shop on the Northside. The staff are very nice and I love their lattes. Caffeine will sometimes heighten my anxiety but I’ve never felt that after getting coffee here, their lattes are just the right blend for me.“
“We are not vegans or gluten knowledgeable, but needed gluten free and vegan cupcakes, and the staff was exceptionally nice and patient with us.It isn't cheap, but really shouldn't expect it to be, it is a specialized bakery, so you should expect it to run a little higher.Everything we bought was very good.“
“Indulging in the delightful offerings of our local crepe cafe is an absolute joy! The menu is a culinary delight, boasting a variety of sweet and savory crepes that cater to every palate. Each crepe is a masterpiece – thin, yet perfectly indulgent, with fresh, quality ingredients that burst with flavor. The cozy ambiance adds to the overall experience, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're craving a classic Nutella-filled treat or a savory masterpiece, this cafe never disappoints. Impeccable service and a passion for crepe craftsmanship make it a must-visit for those who appreciate the art of French-inspired culinary bliss.“
“BEST DONUTS EVER!!! Coffee drinks and sandwiches are also soooo delicious! Prices are phenomenal as well! Favorite place to grab a fast breakfast (or delicious snack lol!)!!!PS-Vanilla iced donut is my personal fave... From anywhere! (BESIDES duck donuts but that's not in the same ballpark in my opinion?)“
“The food is really good!! There are gluten-free options for the French toast and regular sandwiches!! They also have vegan and dairy free options. It gets busy in the morning tooDietary restrictions: Dairy free, vegan, gluten free options & mixed“
“We absolutely loved our vegan wedding cake from The Butterwood Bake Consortium for our Summer 2023 wedding. The team at Butterwood Bake Consortium was kind and communicative. Our two-tiered orange olive oil cake with vanilla semi-naked buttercream was so delicious and the florals were the perfect touch for our wedding theme! I highly recommend for all your wedding cake needs!!!“
“Not sure the barista's name possibly, Sarah but once I find out her name I will come back and update this review. Love every latte she makes me . super friendly and recognizes me when I come in.Also, overly excited that this business carries vanilla bean flavored syrup!!!!!“
“I have never been here for the beer, but I love it as a coffee shop. It's always quiet, beautiful, lots of plants, great service, and good coffee from people who care about what they're doing. The fireplace is a particularly nice touch with the cold weather.I've been a number of times and will keep going!“
“Visited while on vacation to see my boyfriend’s family. Coffee - IMMACULATE! Service - DIVINE! We had a great time and really loved the vibe ? We also visited the oddities shop down the way owned by the same person as the coffee shop.P.S. if you were wondering about the sign in the woman’s restroom…I figured it out. Being a 2010’s scene kid came in handy lolIt says:WE’VE BEEN TRYING TO REACH YOU ABOUT YOUR CAR’S EXTENDED WARRANTY“
“My partner has raved about their coffee for a while and I finally got to try a latte from them today and it’s hands down the best I’ve had in Pittsburgh. Great espresso flavor, not overly sweetened syrup, and overall very well made. My new go to spot for sure!“
“Cute cafe in Lawrenceville, has lots of tables and natural lighting making it a great place to study and do work. Street parking is also easy to find. Service is great. The first time I went, I thought the matcha was a bit bland. However, another friend recommended me to get it with the vanilla flavor and I enjoyed the drink a lot more. Can't say it's the best matcha ever but it's pretty good. I'd come back anyways just for the nice study environment.“
“This might be the best breakfast in Pittsburgh! Seriously, we dine out often and this was our first time at Nook. Not too sure why, maybe because it always looked so busy? Anyways, it was only a 25 minute wait on a Saturday at 11am. Una is close by (plant/occult shop & amazing body butter) if you have to wait. Now back to The Nook: It is everything and more. Diner vibes with awesome staff. From the host to waiter/food runners, everyone was so friendly. The food was a 10/10. We had an omelette, egg Benedict, and the green thing(pancakes with pistachio paste)! The pancakes are undeniably the best I’ve ever had in my life. They are light, fluffy, doughy, it’s honestly indescribable! They were so good we ubered two orders the next morning lol! The coffee was very good (not always the case) and the London fog was a 10/10! I highly recommend and this will be a staple for us moving forward!“
“Great coffee! Mediumish roast, amazing baked goods/pastries, great atmosphere for studying & work (lots of tables and chairs available)Dietary restrictions: Non dairy milk options availableParking: Directly in front of the coffee shop, very convenientWheelchair accessibility: Wide double doors, first floor access, spacious interior“
“Very cool quiet little coffee shop within walking distance of the convention center. Upstairs loft-like seating with really good coffee. Visiting from New York my family said if this was at home it would be our new coffee shop. Highly recommend.“
“Very kind staff (who have remembered my usual order after only having been to this location a few times!), really good food, excellent coffee.Get the chicken and grueyere crepe, it comes with the best salad vinaigrette I've ever had, and I jones for it every time.Love the new bloomfield spot, I loved the one in Lawrenceville but this feels more homey while also more spaced out.Vegetarian options: Plenty of non meat options. Not sure about dairy free (vegan) but lots of good savory and sweet crepes.Parking: Can park paid on liberty Ave or park on one of the residential streets for free. I've never had an issue finding parking.Kid-friendliness: My kid loves the sweet crepes, especially the Nutella with banana and strawberry.“
“My first time in Pittsburgh and was brought to this awesome little spot on Butler St. Great selection of new and vintage tables which made for a fun hang on a rainy afternoon. You can grab a coffee or BYOB and make the rounds on some well maintained tables.“
“Tasty doughnuts! They sell out quick though! Online is says they open at 9, I got there a little after 10 and there were very few choices left. They were all very good I just wish I had gotten there sooner or if they do open earlier it would be nice if that was reflected properly on Google.“
“Big Dog is one of our go to spots for post-run coffees! Those caramel and seasonal lattes are just perfect. The owner is incredibly kind, and the whole vibe with the eclectic decor and artwork is my kind of cozy. Bonus points for letting in cute dogs to pet! Whenever I've got the time, sipping my latte from a mug and soaking in the atmosphere is my little treat. Highly recommend for anyone who loves good coffee and a welcoming vibe.“
“I cannot say enough great things about this place. It has quickly become my go-to spot for everything from morning coffee to special occasion pastries. I’ve never been disappointed with the service, food, or atmosphere. It’s clear that the owner really loves what he does.“
“I ABSOLUTELY LOOOVEEE THIS PLACE! Perfect place if your looking to grab a great cup of coffee and have a peaceful atmosphere and is also a perfect place to utilize for catering! I have utilized Hazelwood Café for multiple events and they have been AMAZING to work with every time! Great prices, quality product, great presentation...literally they embody what you would desire from a professional catering company. Looking forward to utilizing them again in the near future!“
