“We order coffee on mobile every Saturday morning as a treat. I typically don't leave reviews but felt inclined because the staff here is always so incredibly nice. Even when there's a huge line they are pretty quick and I've never caught even a hint of (sometimes justified if you've ever worked customer service) attitude. Pleasant at the order point and pleasant at the window. Quick, efficient, never an issue with our order.

Can't speak for the inside or other times as we only ever order mobile on Saturday mornings. Only complaint would be that sometimes the bacon can be a ball of soggy un-peppered mush, but it's been correct the past few times we've gone.

Got a 9:30 reservation (2 weeks before for a Friday night) had the pickled (forget specifically which white fish)
It was unexpectedly good.
I ordered it bc I figured it made sense to try a dish that was/is directly in line with what the restaurant bills itself as. (Scandanavian + Fish) Was not disappointed, would absolutely order again. Great friendly waitress who advised the rye noodle dish. So good. Food so good I didn’t bother to take photos.“

“Visited this morning for the first time. Got egg and cheese sandwiches, one croissant one ciabatta - both were amazing!! The lattes were delicious and rich. You can really taste the quality of the espresso. They were short staffed (1 employee who was grinding hard!) so I did wait about 25 minutes for two coffees and sandwiches. I didn’t mind that much and it was well worth the wait. Can’t wait to go back!“

“Good place for an early morning coffee / espresso... only place if you're up quite early but still good. Great service, good atmosphere, good to hang out or grab a cup to go. Each cup a reason to not ever go to Starbuck's again, at least if you're in the area. My kids can vouch for the pastries too.“

“Had a pourover from one of the most exquisite menu selections I’ve ever seen in a coffee shop. I was also given an aperitif cup of delicious cofermented coffee before my order finished. Truly amazing. Wish I lived in Pittsburgh so I could go here every day. Also, top notch service - give this man a raise!“

“Needle & Bean is my home away from home in the South Hills. Every barista is so welcoming and people I look forward to being served by and also getting music recommendations from. Mike, the owner, is always great for a music convo, plus his taste in music is impeccable. Not only that but it's one of the only coffee shops in the South Hills with free parking! This isn't even mentioning their 3rd wave coffee and superb vinyl offerings and growing event calendar. I cannot recommend N&B enough.“

“Stumbled here by chance and was incredibly impressed. The decor and scents are pleasant and welcoming and the gentlemen was kind and efficient. There was one other couple in the building so it was not crowded. I ordered an Iced Honey Oat Latte and my fiance ordered a hot Carmel latte. Both were delicious and flavorful. The arepa with chicken was delicious, the mixture was flavored really well and good portion too! They were unfortunately out of the cheese but subbed it with a saltier one that paired well too.

“I was working in the area and decided to stop into Black Canary for a coffee. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed. The shop was extremely clean, professional, and had the feel of a proper, well-run coffee shop. Even the restroom was clean as a whistle.

The gentleman behind the counter was extremely professional, welcoming, and polite. I ordered two vanilla lattes, and they were absolutely delicious.

Great atmosphere, excellent service, and even better coffee. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area. Thanks for a great experience!“

“My fiancé and I were visiting Pittsburgh for a concert and just had to stop by this amazing café. We got to know the owner and learned about how he took this restaurant from a food truck to brick and mortar with his exceptional recipes.

Highly recommend The Force latte, which blends Biscoff & Nutella! The Gotham Gobbler was hands down the best bagel sandwich I’ve had in a while.

“Wonderful little privately owned coffee shop! Coffee is great and they have all the different types available. There’s some seating indoors and outdoors but it’s very limited. It’s more of a “get your coffee and GO” type of place. I would recommend this little coffee shop!“

“Here, you can get farm to cup coffee. The owner’s dad actually runs the farm in Columbia where they source their beans and roast them locally around Pittsburgh. The staff is so kind and friendly and they brew amazing coffee that is about as fresh as you can get unless you are in a growing region of the world. The shop is small and simple but clean and polished with a great vibe.

Got a cappuccino and it was top notch. They know what they are doing with coffee here. Definitely worth going out of your way for this one.“

“I studied and worked remotely from this location many times from 2021 - 2025. The atmosphere of the Wexford location is unparalleled by any other coffee place I've been to. The plants, the decor, the engaging baristas, delicious coffee, tasty blueberry muffins, and the overall positive and relaxing vibe drew me back over and over again. I have nothing but positive things to say about this place, the people who work there, and those who own and govern the business. I haven't been to the other locations, but I'm sure they are excellent, too. :) So, go grab a coffee, get into gardening via one of the many plants for sale, and have a good time.“
