“Hands down the best pancakes in any city you could visit. I have had pancakes at many restaurants up and down the east coast as it is my favorite breakfast staple in every major city NYC, DC, Charlotte, Atlanta, Charleston, etc. and simply none come close. I always make time to stop at Pamela's when I am in Pittsburgh. Oakland location was nice, clean, and service staff was amazing!“
“My friends and I were in Pittsburgh for spring vacation and Pamela's had been recommended to us. We chose the location in the Strip to be able to see that area and because it was close to where we were staying. Sadly, it was pouring rain that morning, so we did not get to explore the area. However, Pamela's was warm and dry with pleny of hot coffee and delicious food.“
“I'm happy this Caffe Mona is here in the strip, because it's got a great vibe that's relaxed (no tvs, low music), and great fresh food. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the savory crepe. I will be going back for sure.Only (small) complaint is that my plate had like 8 chips which felt like an afterthought and not a side.If you've never been, it can be a surprise to see a menu that's basically just crepes (sweet or savory) and omelettes. It seems like they have a burger, but it's not the main thing.“
“I was passing through on a camping trip, and was hungry and looking for breakfast. I know for a fact I looked like a hot mess... Like 20 lb of garbage that just blew out of a dumpster... But they were very nice and friendly. The food was probably the best diner food I've had in the last 10 years. The staff was outstanding. Very friendly and the service was extremely fast. There's an open grills. You can watch the food being made which is really cool. The coffee was excellent. Not too hot. Not too cold... Just right. The best part, with the atmosphere. I know it was an outsider and look like a complete garbage, butt. Was awesome to see all the locals and regulars sitting down chatting with one another. It made me jealous. I don't live in the area. I will visit Johnny's every time I get back to this area. Thank you to this stuff. This place on a scale from 1 to 10 is about a 3,000!“
“It's 7 AM and your lying in bed trying to decide what to eat for breakfast. Look no further than O'Leary's Restaurant on the South Side. For generations of Pittsburghers this is the go to place for a good quality meal after a long night out. If your looking for a fancy place this is not where you want to be. If your into a true local neighborhood gem then come on in. The ladies behind the counter we're so friendly and happy to see us. They offered a paper and a hearty good morning. We placed our order and within minutes we had our food. It was a hearty portion that tasted delicious. Just make sure you bring cash as it's a cash only restaurant.“
“Very kind staff (who have remembered my usual order after only having been to this location a few times!), really good food, excellent coffee.Get the chicken and grueyere crepe, it comes with the best salad vinaigrette I've ever had, and I jones for it every time.Love the new bloomfield spot, I loved the one in Lawrenceville but this feels more homey while also more spaced out.Vegetarian options: Plenty of non meat options. Not sure about dairy free (vegan) but lots of good savory and sweet crepes.Parking: Can park paid on liberty Ave or park on one of the residential streets for free. I've never had an issue finding parking.Kid-friendliness: My kid loves the sweet crepes, especially the Nutella with banana and strawberry.“
“This place is absolutely amazing!!!! I came here with a large party of 10 and EVERYONE’s food was to die for. Some people got something sweet, some did savory….and they were all fantastic. LOVED that they had multiple Benedict’s to choose from. Service was also fantastic! 100000/10 would recommend.“
“I will definitely be back! Food was pretty tasty. Salmon hash was outstanding! My husband enjoyed his chicken and waffles. The chicken was fried good but lacked flavor. Toast came with my hash. It was forgotten. She came back with 1 slice of toast. Ive never had only 1 slice of toast. Odd. I would also like to suggest training someone else to make the specialty drinks. We were told the person who normally makes them hasnt been in. I hope this will be different next time. Overall I enjoyed my experience!“
“We had the BEST waitress that we’ve had in a long time. She was fun, friendly, helpful and made our breakfast better than we could have imagined. It was our first time here and Kathy was great! As was the food…my omelette was so amazing! We will be back hopefully a day Kathy is waiting tables and not in the kitchen since she is the reason (and that omelette) that we wil be back soon.“
“A delightful breakfast, brunch, and lunch restaurant at the site of the old Pamela's restaurant. It retains the same basic layout, but with a new decor, and it feels much more upscale, spacious, and cleaner. The food is international in flavor, and is delicious. I needed to look up a few things on the menu, and I always enjoy finding new things, so that was great! The service is very good, too!“
“This was a really nice First Watch location! Very open atmosphere and a good amount of seating. Service was quick and the food came out fast as well! Definitely recommend their salads here but everything we have had here has been top notch! We will be back “
“I had a delightful and delicious brunch here. The service is exceptionally fast, the food arrived within minutes of my order, and my order was taken almost immediately upon sitting down. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, filled with off the wall and on the wall art, the staff is delightful, and because this is kind of a neighborhood restaurant, you'll meet all sorts of interesting people. It's possible to eat quietly but it is also possible to talk to the people sitting next to you.And of course, the food was delicious!“
“How do you not rate Pamela's 5 stars? Their specialty is the strawberry pancakes, and they are to die for, truly amazing. But here's the thing, their eggs are out of this world. So are their lyonnaise potatoes, and their corned beed hash. You can't go wrong with anything here. I only visit once a month for the last 20 years or so, but service in the three locations I've been to has always been excellent.“
“We sat in the extension which isn't as nice as the main room. Service was not great. It took 3 tries to get silverware. And it took a while for the food to be brought out.But the food itself was very good. I had the monte Cristo which had a lot of meat and was very good. My wife had pancakes, which were good, but again it took a couple of tries to get extra butter (the pancakes are huge). So, ask to sit in the main room and hope for an experienced wait staff person!“
“My husband introduced me to this place during the summer (2023). I absolutely love the food and the atmosphere here! I always enjoy coming to this restaurant for breakfast!Parking: The place is located a small plaza behind Wendy's. There's plenty of free parking. =)“
“First off I didn't want to go here but my niece said it was good. Then there was a bit of a wait because I guess other people also think it is good. Well then we ate and I gotta tell yah, it was damn good! Highly recommend the wait.“
“Great place to eat. The food was really good, and the service was exceptional. I went there on a Saturday morning at 9:30 AM, and it was a little busy. It seems to be the morning rush around that time. Youmay want to go a little earlier or a little later to avoid the Saturday morning rush.“
“I enjoy coming to this restaurant a lot. They make great comfort food, that's tasty and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I really enjoyed the hot meat loaf sandwich with fries and gravy. It wasn't too much gravy. My daughter had the one armed breakfast. She said the pancake was the best she's had in a long time. The service is very friendly.“
“Had a morning appointment on Liberty Ave. & Stopped in for breakfast after. Saw the special for 2 eggs, sausage, hash browns & toast for under $7 & had to stop in. Quite the neighborhood, yinzer, diner feel. Lil small but accommodating seating. Cozy. The wait staff was quick, efficient & personable. Rocky was cooking away & catching up with some Steeler news with the locals. Stools are a lil shorter than your usual ones which is accommodating for shorter folks. I sat at the bar & deliciously watched my food sizzle, simmer, & cook to perfection. Couple of cuppas of coffee & a hearty breakfast had me ready for the day. Everything you needed was at your bars & tables (hand sanitizer, salt, pepper, Heinz ketchup, hot sauce, sugar creamer, grape jelly). The folks were fine with chatting up about anything local & interesting, others were having a quiet breakfast scrolling through their phone feed. The menu was short and to the point. A few specials on the front, a la carte as well. Everything was reasonably and affordably priced. Tables were neat and tidy. There was also a small collection of movies & music for sale too. Couple of classics in VHS, DVD, CDs & Casset tapes.Parking: Park in front for standard fare. Catch a side street spot if you're lucky.“
“Best pancakes and omelets in Pittsburgh! There can be a short wait on weekends, but the food is well worth the wait. Try the Dutch baby. You'll love it. Noise level a little high but that's from happy customers enjoying a great breakfast.“
“actually obsessed with first watch. i think i get it at least once a week. my boyfriend gets excited for the seasonal menus. i've never been disappointed with the food, tho almost every time my mom asks for mushroom in her omelet she doesn't get it. the staff is nice, some are more attentive than others. one of my favorite spots for a lazy brunch.“
“We watched Wonka the night before and man did this hit the spot! When on friday, so got a $10 funky monkey friday. Boyfriend got a fosters, and honestly I stole some of his vanilla icecream bc it was chocolate overload. Some kind of godly peanut butterfluff. I write this specifically for the signature latte though. Gotta stir it or the syrups settles at the bottom.“
“This is a quaint little diner with FANTASTIC food. Just writing this makes my mouth water. The Bountiful Breakfast is my go to. You get eggs, potato and meat with toast. Hard scrambled eggs, home fries, spicy sausage, Italian toast and coffee. I can’t describe to how hungry this writing has made me. The owner and staff are attentive and friendly. Even if you’re not in the area I’d tell you to stop in and give it a try. You won’t be sorry!“
“While they’ve been in Upper St. Clair for a while, and as a chain, have six outposts now, we’ve never been to one of these locations, so we drove in on a weekday. At first, we were not even sure it was open as there were no cars in the parking lot! The lights were on though, so we parked and walked in. Turns out that they only open at 8 AM and we got there at 8:02, so we were the first ones there. I find that somewhat strange for a breakfast and lunch place, as I would have expected to have opened earlier, but what do I know? The menu is quite comprehensive with lots of options and variety of breakfast and brunch offerings. Check out both sides of the menu! On the coffee side, they offer one coffee, but do have an espresso machine so you can get all kinds of espresso drinks, if you so desire. We tried their regular coffee and it come in a small 4 Ounce mug – which they did refill upon request. For our first time, we selected the Breakfast Magic waffle, and the Country Mile. The waffle comes with green onions, bacon crumbles, and cheddar cheese crumbles and an egg on top. The menu states the batter also contains the green onions, bacon and cheese, but we did not detect them. A plop of sour cream accompanies this. The waffle was fluffy enough, but we felt it was pretty ordinary in flavor. The Country mile is a mushroom cheese omelet folded on top of a sausage patty which is then placed between two slices of Italian bread. It is supposed to have a spicy Mayo as well. What we got tasted like Russian dressing. Ordinarily, it comes with a side of potato chips, but we asked for a swap to their home fries, which they did – for an upcharge. Unfortunately, the potatoes were super salty! I took a closeup picture of the and attached it, you can see the salt crystals!I gave this place a four-star rating because the food was decent – although super salty – and the selection is large. Getting in and out of their parking lot in the morning can only be done from one direction which is a hassle. The staff was incredibly nice (which increased the rating!) but overall, it was just OK…“
“Very amazing food, if you are looking for something new or just visiting and want some delicious Lebanese food this is the place to come, the service was amazing and the food was delicious!Parking: Plenty of street parking roughly 2 blocks worth“
