“A group of 5 of us visited Dish last night and the meals were amazing. Grilled Squid, the best I have ever had. Where else can you find it not breaded and fried? Add to that their amazing sardines so fresh and good. Pasta Funghi another high. Exquisite detail to taste in every dish. The owners go way out of their way to make you feel welcomed and happy and very satisfied. A must visit when you are lucky enough to get a reservation though other friends have happily sat at the bar for dinner just to be there!! Kudos to Dish!“

“This location was recommended for a medical school reunion in Pittsburgh by our alumni association. The food was excellent and the portions very generous. We did the family style dining for a large group, and it was very well received. One of my Italian classmates sate the the Cacio e Pepe was the best that he had tasted outside of Milan. “The Market in Verona is so awesome. It is so great to go in and get good quality food that you can reheat at home. I recently got the Eggplant Parmesan, pasta and risotto balls. Everything was so delicious and enough for another dinner. My husband got the Chicken Parmesan and really enjoyed it also. The service at the Market is outstanding and it was so nice to also meet Andrew the owner. I am looking forward to coming back again and getting more of this high quality and delicious Italian Food that reminded me so much of what my Mommy used to make. I highly recommend them.“

The food portions were very big and absolutely delicious. We started with a beet salad and it was so good. I had the CC's veal with crab cakes and my friend had the Sunday gravy. Both dishes were delicious and the red sauce on the Sunday gravy was out of this world. We had a tiramisu for dessert and again, it was outstanding. For a nice evening out, give them a try.“

“We have been going to Piccolo Forno for years. It is my favorite restaurant. The staff is outstanding. The food is creative and menu items are changed regularly to make use of seasonal ingredients. There are so many delicious choices on the menu that it is difficult to decide what to order. The food is reasonably priced and the corkage fee is less than most restaurants. This restaurant is a gem for anyone who loves delicious Italian food!“

“My son and I had dinner for Mother’s Day. Our first experience at this restaurant. Aside from a small miscommunication where the side dishes were delivered to the table alongside the apps, everything was very good. They corrected the sides and delivered fresh with the entrees, the sides were easily large enough to share amongst three or four people and the food was very good. The app, sides and entrees, as well as the gluten free chocolate cake were all delicious. I definitely recommend this restaurant and plan to return.“

The ribs were very meaty and the Cole slaw tasted very fresh! The kids loved their chicken fingers and french fries too. “my boyfriend and i tried pelegrino’s after we got sent a menu from them in the mail. we each got a pizza, and the cost was INCREDIBLY lower than the other pizza places we’ve ordered from. they deliver as well, which is nice. what i also appreciate about pelegrino’s is the option for online ordering, which allows me to pay & tip so i don’t have to fumble whenever the delivery comes. it takes some time, but it’s always worth the wait; we’ve never been disappointed!! this is our go to pizza spot!!“

My partner and I were at a small table but felt like we were trying to talk over a crowd at a noisy sports bar. Maybe Friday at 8 p.m. was not the ideal time. To be clear.... the low atmosphere rating is purely due to the extremely high volume level not the beautiful design of the space.“

Zucchini app was served fast. Wine cork fee $5. Dinner salad was very small, but dinners; veal Marsala & chicken piccata was generous & delicious. Seemed there was a staffing shortage, waitress was catering to party of 12 celebrating a bday. Had to practically beg for a dessert & coffee. “TL/DR: The food and service were fantastic. The bread and ice cream are good enough to justify a visit by themselves, and could frankly be turned into an extremely profitable business on their own. The food was so good that it felt like a bargain at its price point.

My family and I wanted to visit Cucina Alfabeto for a special occasion as it was recommended by a few close friends of mine. It did not disappoint. The restaurant was well decorated without being distracting, and had a relaxing ambience. We had placed a reservation a week in advance, and we were seated promptly after arriving. Our server, Eric, was very polite but quiet. He quickly brought bread and oil, which was worth the visit by itself. He then walked us through the menu, quickly put in our appetizers. We ordered the burrata and the arancini, which were both superb. The burrata was balanced, salty, sweet, and uniquely smokey due to the char on the bread and the quality of the smoked salt used. The arancini were fantastic, but if you order them I would recommend cutting them and waiting for a moment for them to cool before you eat, as ours were quite hot, likely due to them being prepared moments prior. After waiting for us to finish our appetizers, Eric returned and answered some questions we had about entrees before leaving with our orders. He did an excellent job pacing the meal for us and attending to us. Me and my mom ordered the sacchetti, and my brother ordered the trout. The sacchetti was unlike any pasta I had eaten prior. Somewhere between ravioli and a dumpling, the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and filled with a mixture of lamb, garlic, Parmesan, and some other additions that I am not qualified enough to speak to. The inclusion of the mint and pea as a part of the sauce expertly balanced the richness of the lamb, leaving me satisfied but not weighed down by what would otherwise be unctuous if not prepared with such care. I was able to try my brothers trout, which was exactly as I had hoped. The trout was seasoned simply, allowed the taste of the trout and its preparation to shine. The potatoes were also good, but could have been seasoned a bit more, however that is simply my preference. We finished our meal by trying each available ice cream flavor, which were vanilla, chocolate hazelnut, and sour cherry sorbet. The vanilla and hazelnut ice creams were so good that one could justify closing the restaurant entirely simply to serve ice cream. I genuinely challenge anyone to find me better ice cream in Pittsburgh. My only limited constructive criticism was that the restaurant was very quiet, making conversation for me and my family a tad awkward at times, but that was likely due to our reservation being at 6 and not a later hour which may be more lively. Additionally, the music playing quietly in the background was not good. Thankfully, I only heard it when I used the restroom. It was a bossa nova cover of “don’t stop believing.” I am not sure why, but the poor choice of music made me feel bad for the servers and staff, who likely have to listen to that all day while slaving away to make excellent food and provide excellent service. Even as a food dilettante, it was easy to see the effort and care that was put into me and my family’s meal. Safe to say I will be back as soon as I can justify the expense, and hopefully I can ask for the playlist to be changed.“
