“A group of 5 of us visited Dish last night and the meals were amazing. Grilled Squid, the best I have ever had. Where else can you find it not breaded and fried? Add to that their amazing sardines so fresh and good. Pasta Funghi another high. Exquisite detail to taste in every dish. The owners go way out of their way to make you feel welcomed and happy and very satisfied. A must visit when you are lucky enough to get a reservation though other friends have happily sat at the bar for dinner just to be there!! Kudos to Dish!“

“This location was recommended for a medical school reunion in Pittsburgh by our alumni association. The food was excellent and the portions very generous. We did the family style dining for a large group, and it was very well received. One of my Italian classmates sate the the Cacio e Pepe was the best that he had tasted outside of Milan. “My husband and I have been going to the Village Inn for many years now. Everything we have eaten there has been so delicious from sandwiches to great Italian Food . My favorite is the stuffed crabmeat mushroom appetizer, bruschetta and Chicken Romano. The meatballs and pasta are so good. My favorite dessert is the Tiramisu. “First time dining at Ranucci's and it will not be the last. We were greeted by the owner upon arriving. Very friendly and very inviting. Our waiter was also very friendly and ver attentive. The food portions were very big and absolutely delicious. We started with a beet salad and it was so good. I had the CC's veal with crab cakes and my friend had the Sunday gravy. Both dishes were delicious and the red sauce on the Sunday gravy was out of this world. We had a tiramisu for dessert and again, it was outstanding. For a nice evening out, give them a try.“

“When brunch plans with a good friend fell through, she suggested Ladles, a restaurant enjoyed by her family members. The vibe is very old school, with dark wood paneling, tables and booths. Light in the dining room comes largely through a cluster of windows at ceiling level. But once you get over the dim setting, you'll find an inventive menu with an attentive staff. There are affordable lunch and specials, mostly under $15 with a focus on Italian food.
The sandwiches are creative and fall in the $10-$20 dollar range. When you move into the entrees expect an additional $10 charge for many of the items. There is an emphasis on lobster and Italian dishes.
The name Ladles comes from the multitude of fresh soups offered daily. I chose the wedding soup; it probably was the best I've ever had, creatively seasoned with fresh greens and homemade mini meatballs.
I got an entree which was built around a delicious homemade crab cake with so much lump crab it was almost overwhelming. My companion went with a chicken in lemon sauce, which was fantastic. My only reservation was the decision to serve these items a mound of mashed potatoes. The option of rice or pasta would have been welcomed.
I plan on returning and have already recommended the restaurant to friends.“

“My son and I had dinner for Mother’s Day. Our first experience at this restaurant. Aside from a small miscommunication where the side dishes were delivered to the table alongside the apps, everything was very good. They corrected the sides and delivered fresh with the entrees, the sides were easily large enough to share amongst three or four people and the food was very good. The app, sides and entrees, as well as the gluten free chocolate cake were all delicious. I definitely recommend this restaurant and plan to return.“

“Visited this morning for the first time. Got egg and cheese sandwiches, one croissant one ciabatta - both were amazing!! The lattes were delicious and rich. You can really taste the quality of the espresso. They were short staffed (1 employee who was grinding hard!) so I did wait about 25 minutes for two coffees and sandwiches. I didn’t mind that much and it was well worth the wait. Can’t wait to go back!“

“We are regulars at Big JIm's. We love the food and the people even more. We were there when the dude came in complaining about his fish sandwich like a maniac. He was screaming, refused the staff's offer of a replacement. The staff tried to be accommodating. Even worse, he presented himself as "someone Important" and threatened the people with the "review he was going to write'. Well, clearly his review is terribly written, and lacks punctuation. Not a review I would expect from someone "so important".. Happy Mr. Important will never be back! Don't believe a word he said!“

“We had a great experience at PGH EATZ today. We ordered ribs, loaded baked potato, and the homemade coleslaw, and everything was delicious! The ribs were very meaty and the Cole slaw tasted very fresh! The kids loved their chicken fingers and french fries too. “Service was excellent. Top notch. What I didn't understand was why we were sat next to the window with fake bushes blocking our view of the rest of the restaurant. The place was empty. Every single table inside the rows of hedges was unoccupied when we got there. Maybe 2 or 3 tables were sat during our dinner but I truly didn't understand seating us in the corner, right next to the door, blocked by this greenery. It just felt weird. Also the olive oil cake was terrible. Dry, salty. Not good at all. The rest was good. We got 4 dishes and shared them. Maybe ordered 4 drinks. Bill was $250. Not terrible but also not big portions cause they were all shareable small plates. Like there were 4 of us, we got the scallop special, and they gave us 3 scallops. Just give us a 4th scallop so we each get one! If you wanna upcharge for it fine, but like why give 3 scallops to a table of 4 when they know we're sharing everyhing. We made that clear. And yeah that cake sucked. Don't get it. I don't need to go back here. Mostly cause I dislike supporting DeSchantz. So take that as you will.“

Yes, Joe is our cousin and that is definitely warm and wonderful but Louise, Joe's matriarch, was there too which made it extra special. So the food, sauteed arthichoke hearts, pasta fagioli, wedding soup, Chicken Romano, Veal Romano, beverage list unsurpassed and our usual standards and oh the red velvet cheesecake was picture and taste perfect. All food made to order fresh and it definitely shows the attention to every morsel we enjoyed. Oh, the bread is made locally and it's the best. “Loved the staff, so friendly and helpful. And, to top it off, the pizza was Exceptional!! The flavors were wonderful, sausage, green olives and mushrooms (with pepperoni on part of it). The crust was perfect and the spices were sensational. We ordered the large for 3 people and ate every speck of it!
