“The owner knew my father so I order their pizza all the time!! I will admit it's great pizza! Perfectly made. I love their wings, which is new for me. they had a smaller location years ago and didn't make wings then. So I guess what I'm saying is their success speaks for itself. He owns a bigger shop than originally and its successful because this man is dedicated and skilled at what he does. Their food is made by a man who has done this for so many years of his life that he perfected his art!!!! So if your looking for good pizza, hoagies, wings, Stromboli and much more, that taste better than others, it's better to get it from a place that busted their buns to be a local family favorite. The crew in the kitchen and behind the counter are also amazing ? they are the oil that makes the wheels turn smoothly in this place and most of their efforts shine through!! “Love love love Frankstown Wood fired Pizza! I crave it everyday. My boyfriend and I like the margarita pizza. So much so that we get it about once a week. Workers and owners are very kind and make delicious food. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients of both the toppings and dough in every bite. “I’ve been here several times and have never been disappointed! The food is some of the best Italian in Pittsburgh! We always order the gnocchi with blush sauce and always appreciate how perfectly done the gnocchi is (never mushy or overdone) as well as the T-bone steak which is always made PERFECTLY! We also appreciate how many sides you get with each meal as well as FRESH BREAD! You won’t be let down and will definitely have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.“

“My family just left this establishment after enjoying a few incredible slices of pizza, with complimentary donuts from the owner. Not only was he helping the front-of-the-house staff when we walked in. He noticed us with our 3 young boys and immediately handed us these scrumptious donuts to occupy them while the pizza was cooking. Small acts of kindness like that are what make this world go around, or at least my world go around. After a very long couple of days, his act of kindness meant the world to me. “The gluten free pizza here is the best gluten free pizza I’ve had, hands down!!! And I try gf pizza everywhere I go— literally 10 years and this stuff is just amazing. It’s like magic. The sauce is good. The toppings are great. It’s solid pizza regardless and my non gf husband still loves eating here too! Also, the gluten free fried cinnamon dough!!!! It’s literally the closest thing I’ve had to a doughnut in 10 years and we LOVE it in my house ???? if I had the money I’d invest in the gluten free pizza dough here to make it available everywhere; it’s such a game changer ??Highly recommend!“
“My husband and I both had the stuffed shells with a meatball. It was excellent! The best shells I ever had. I love their sauce and they give you a huge roll to enjoy all that lovely, tasty sauce. The waitress was very attentive and sweet. We will be back....“

“I’m always pleased with my meal at John Anthony’s. On this visit I had the John D Sandwich - fried eggplant and chicken on a hoagie roll topped with marinara, cheese, and John Anthony peppers, and it was terrific. The only problem was it was so big that I couldn’t finish it, so I brought the rest home. My wife had eggplant parmigiana and she was very pleased with it. But the hit of the table was my friend’s Buffalo Chicken Calzone. That will be on my short list of choices on my next visit.Dietary restrictions: One friend at the table has to be gluten free, and she was very pleased with the number of gluten free options and her dinner.“

“It's like being at your favorite dinner table with family and friends! With our beautiful Italian family gathering around the bar area in numbers of about 15 Friday night, we had a blast! Yes, Joe is our cousin and that is definitely warm and wonderful but Louise, Joe's matriarch, was there too which made it extra special. Lulu, chef, Delaney, "Ms. Brown", Linda and all staff were amazing and fun. So the food, sauteed arthichoke hearts, pasta fagioli, wedding soup, Chicken Romano, Veal Romano, beverage list unsurpassed and our usual standards and oh the red velvet cheesecake was picture and taste perfect. All food made to order fresh and it definitely shows the attention to every morsel we enjoyed. Oh, the bread is made locally and it's the best. We were almost the last to leave and we have all the photos to show our fun time. Can't wait to go back for their Sunday sauce. Salute and see you soon. “Called ahead for a Saturday night reservation on a Saturday morning...got a reservation 15 minutes from requested time and was seated promptly.Read the recent reviews, therefore, did not order fried zucchini, or any appetizer, as thep portions were described as large, and they were!The wedding soup was served steaming hot with tender meatballs; could have used more pepper.Ordered two entrees;Alla pescatore, which contrary to recent reviews, was served with firm, not mushy linguine. Garlickly flavor aand could have been tastier with some red pepper flakes.Neptune, with veal, was one of the few entrees served without pasta. They give you homemade bread sticks every time. The dinner rolls are always hot, fresh and scrumptious. I like their house dressing. It's not just oil and vinegar.
