My partner and I visited at 8 p.m. on a Friday. The food was phenomenal and the service was top-notch....the noise level in the dining room area was incredibly tough to deal with. My partner and I were at a small table but felt like we were trying to talk over a crowd at a noisy sports bar. Maybe Friday at 8 p.m. was not the ideal time. To be clear.... the low atmosphere rating is purely due to the extremely high volume level not the beautiful design of the space.
Excellent meal - the sauce for the Rocco's Pasta and Sauce was delicious and the Arancini with mushrooms may be my new favorite.
What a cool spot, an amazing renovated building in the North Side looks incredible. Had a drink at the bar before we had dinner. Our waitress was great, the bolognese was on point, solid wine maybe could use a few more options. Then went to hang and have a cigar at the club out back, seriously legit place would recommend

Rocco's Ristorante is a fantastic and amazing hidden gem in Pittsburgh, offering a definite must-go experience. The atmosphere cannot be spoken about enough, with an incredible ambience that features amazing details like chandeliers, wallpaper, and woodworking within a historic old mansion. The preservation of Italian family tradition is felt in each bite and sip.
The food is sublime and exactly what you hope for, placing it right at the top for Italian food in the city. Every dish feels professionally created. Standout items include the perfectly seasoned arancini, the tuscan pork chop with its creamy and delicious polenta, and the veal scarpariello with its excellent sauce. Other highlights are the best beans and greens, the gnocchi, the Caesar salad with grilled chicken, and appetizers like the burrata and pane e olio. The cannolis, with a little bit of citrus in the filling, are also a standout. The service is great, very friendly, professional, and passionate, with helpful suggestions for wine pairings and meals. It is an upcoming Pittsburgh classic worth the experience.
