This place has become our go-to place for Italian food in the city! Each time we go, it’s incredible! The atmosphere is unique as it sits inside an old, historical home in the north side. The recently updated bar and lounge is a great spot for a pre-dinner cocktail.

We celebrated a birthday at Rocco’s last night and absolutely loved our time there! The restaurant is located in a beautifully restored bed and breakfast, called the Villagio Boutique Hotel. We were taken aback by the ambiance and the overall feeling of hospitality that was very alive and present in the space and that emanated from the staff. What an amazing newer gem in the Northside! The food is amazing, the owners are friendly and you can tell that they care about your experience. I had dinner, drinks & a cigar at the 1864 Club. The bartender/bar manager was a 12 out of 10! This is a must try if you’re a fan of great food, atmosphere & service!

Rocco's Ristorante is a fantastic and amazing hidden gem in Pittsburgh, offering a definite must-go experience. The atmosphere cannot be spoken about enough, with an incredible ambience that features amazing details like chandeliers, wallpaper, and woodworking within a historic old mansion. The preservation of Italian family tradition is felt in each bite and sip.
The food is sublime and exactly what you hope for, placing it right at the top for Italian food in the city. Every dish feels professionally created. Standout items include the perfectly seasoned arancini, the tuscan pork chop with its creamy and delicious polenta, and the veal scarpariello with its excellent sauce. Other highlights are the best beans and greens, the gnocchi, the Caesar salad with grilled chicken, and appetizers like the burrata and pane e olio. The cannolis, with a little bit of citrus in the filling, are also a standout. The service is great, very friendly, professional, and passionate, with helpful suggestions for wine pairings and meals. It is an upcoming Pittsburgh classic worth the experience.
