“We went with a group of seven people and were seated at a giant Lazy Susan table, which made it very easy to share our food! I asked the waiter about vegan options and he was very helpful and double checked with the kitchen on certain items. We ordered a lot of food, the sauté string beans, eggplant with string beans, Ma Po tofu, Veg Ho Fun (rice noodles), Veg Chow Mein (udon noodles), the Tofu Skin in sour chili sauce, the cucumber in sour chili sauce and the scallion pancake. Everyone enjoyed the meal! The only unusual thing was that a couple of the food items came out later than the others, almost staggered. It might have been because we got so much and we were all sharing. We didn’t mind though, as the food came out pretty soon after we ordered. Definitely planning to go back! (Heads up that the veggie dumplings and mini buns are NOT vegan.)“

“Visiting from out of town. We live in central PA so there’s not much Japanese food. When it’s cold out katsu curry just hits the spot and theirs is absolutely delicious. Loved how the spice builds and the rice soaked up the curry. The beni shoga is delicious on top of curry dipped bites of katsu“

“This has become my fave chinese takeaway in pgh. The fried rice doesn't have any veggies but it's packed with meat and delicious. The lo-mein is my latest fave. I get both with pork and it's the good char siu type pork.

It has about 4 seats inside, but it's really a To Go kind of place“

“Taipei is by far the best sushi and Chinese restaurant in the Fox Chapel area. The servers are courteous and the specialty sushi rolls are noticeabley larger and tastier than Jimmy Wan's. In my opinion, Taipei also offers a better selection than Jimmy Wan's. We also appreciate Taipei's complimentary fried wontons served before each meal and orange slices provided at the end of service. This family-friendly restaurant always make us feel at home.“

“Ordered for delivery via DoorDash after one of my coworkers worked with the owner because I enjoy trying new food and supporting local business. Was very impressed with the quality of the food. Portions were for 2 and very generous. The shrimp was incredibly flavorful and fresh. Even little things were done well like the rice with the meal.

To put it another way it was good enough that I wanted to take time to leave a review and this will definitely become a go to place whenever I’m craving Chinese food at work for lunch. Happy to see the new management is bringing this place to life“

“We just moved to the neighborhood a few weeks ago and got takeout from here almost every day our first week in Brookline. Their General Tso’s is classic, Chinese American comfort takeout food. My husband was a little nervous because of the smell of the inside of the restaurant, but their food always hits. We always get General Tso chicken and egg rolls because they always hit.“

“Despite being there early during this restaurant's lunch buffet hours, they were out of a few options on their buffet. Having to wait 20 minutes for them to be prepared, cooked, despite being fresher and then brought out, is a time-killing disappointment. Especially, on a lunch hour.
It's a small buffet with limited, but basic average ordered options, but, in addition, they do prepare and serve other items from their menu that's not on the buffet.“

“I’m rating this five stars because of several reasons. First of all, there are very few options for fast food around this neighborhood. Also, most of the options within a block or two are questionable at best in terms of quality, consistency, and price. Parking is a kafkaesque nightmare around here too so if I am forced to choose fast food, my most frequent choice is here. Hunan is not amazing for the price, but it is basically exactly the same every time, and it’s hot. If you’re willing to pay $18, you can get a filling and satisfying yet greasy meal. I always go for the fried rice, chicken, and broccoli and maybe egg rolls. Like I said, it’s outrageously priced but at least you know you are getting a lot of ok quality food instead of rolling the dice with other nearby options.“

If you’re a tofu lover, I highly recommend trying the Broccoli & Tofu with rice and the Vegetable Soup.
Fresh, flavorful, and always satisfying—so good! Yummy! 😋🌱I would have given Chan An 5 stars, but I mainly eat tofu, so my review is based on their tofu and vegetable dishes. Their Bean Curd (Tofu) is flavorful and delicious, and I appreciate that they are willing to substitute tofu for meat. 😋🌱“

This family that owns this place saved my life from a terrible injustice I did as an adolescent against them.
They forgave me and still to this day continue to serve me great food and I know they remember who I am. I do not eat Chinese from anywhere else even if I travel abroad I am loyal to this place. Now that I live in moon town ship I make the drive 25 miles just for this place very clean I get exactly what i expect everytime I go.“

“This is the only place I get my Chinese food! I get the shrimp fried rice every time, with shrimp rolls, but I sometimes add General Tso’s chicken, crab rangoons. And I have never been disappointed. The shrimp fried rice is loaded with the very best shrimp. And, they’re bes part there is so much, I have lunch for the next day.“
