“Wow. That is seriously all I can say right now.I've ordered takeout a few times but had just gotten boring basics for my kids who don't like spice. I just went for lunch and got some more authentic dishes, and I'm just blown away.Gourmet for sure. I cannot believe that we have a place this delicious in Pittsburgh. It was absolutely phenomenal and I will be returning for sure. I can't believe I haven't tried some of the different dishes previously. Thank you so much!“
“One of the best Chinese restaurants in Pittsburgh. The Egg Rolls here are stellar! For the entries we ordered General Tso's chicken and Moogo guy pan. Both very good meals. First visit here for my friend and she thought it was awesome. Highly recommended if you are looking for an excellent non chain Asian experience!“
“TLDR: There was a lot of very positive energy from the staff and they were incredibly friendly, going above and beyond to offer sincere apologies and correct their mistake immediately. Once I received the correct food, it was absolutely delicious! The picture is of my girlfriend's cold noodle dish.I came here on a quick decision casual date with my girlfriend. She absolutely lives tiny little specialty restaurants like this! We ordered pork soup dumplings as an appetizer, my gf ordered some kind of cold noodle dish from the Dry Noodles section of the menu, which she received very quickly. She absolutely loved it! I ordered some kind of noodle soup with pork dumplings, broccoli, bamboo shoots and lots of little greens all through it.We sat at the table for a good few minutes wondering when my food was coming, as my gf had stopped halfway through eating her dish because she didn't want to feel like she was being rude by eating without me. I was like "let me set a 5 minute timer, and if it goes off and I still don't have my food, I'll get a waitress's attention." However, before the timer went off, I was handed our check, at which point I questioned when my food was coming. Both parties realized an item had been forgotten, and the waitresses (ours and her entire team) got me my food very quickly. I asked if I could get my food at half price, as my gf and I weren't able to eat at the same time. In response to this, the staff completely removed my food from the bill, leaving us only paying for the dumplings, her cold noodle dish, and her bubble milk tea.The staff went an extra mile and complimented how well we looked as a couple, and aggressively pushed us into a hug while joking about my girlfriend being cold. It was a very unique and very fun experience. We'll definitely be coming back!Vegetarian options: There are some dishes clearly marked as vegetarian, however, there was no clearly marked way to ask for a vegetarian version of a dish that included meat.Parking: It's a wide street with a lengthy parking area, however there were only 2 spaces free when we visited late in the evening. I'm sure it would be completely full during mid afternoon.“
“Order out mostly. But did fine in with my grandson .Good was delicious and service was great. Shrimp egg foo young is the bomb ?. Ording delivery today.Parking: Not a lot of parking at the restaurant itself but there is street parking I've never had a problem“
“Love Sesame Garden. Can't wait to go back. Why, well...the food is yummy, the restaurant itself is not crowded (mostly take out), and the host/server is terrific! The food keeps you happy, the service keeps you coming back! Everything we have ordered has been terrific. Added items we've tried have been the dried green beans, garlic chicken, bride/groom, kung pao (triple combo), street noodle, sichuan beef.....YUM! I cannot pick my favorite! Join me for dinner there-I'll be back soon!“
“This was our first time, we would give it 10 stars ?Vegetarian options: YesParking: Was about a 1/2 block, plenty of parking, but it was difficult to get out...we parked on top but had to drive down like 6 levels to get out...they should have access at the top to get out!Kid-friendliness: Not that I had any with me, but saw a couple families with young kids..Very well behaved“
“This restaurant features iconic American Chinese Food selections with a twist. I ordered General Tso chicken which had a slight spicy tone and hints of ketchup flavors (at least to me). The portions were decently prepared and accompanied with a dose of sticky Chinese Rice. The order took a little longer to prepare than estimated and came to about $16 or so. Service was prompt to my presence and apologetic to the wait. Overall, recommended.“
“I've ordered takeout from this restaurant before and found the packaging to be very clean. For example, the chopsticks are sealed and not red. Then I came here to eat. The overall feeling was clean and tasted good. I really liked the spicy hotpot here.“
“The woman that works the register is so sweet. If you have a smaller order they’ll wait until you’re there to start it which I really appreciate! My food is fresh out of the wok every single time I go there! Truly 10s across the board for quality of food, price, and customer service.“
“By far one of the best Szechuan restaurants I have encountered! Yes they have an Americanized menu too, but expand your horizons and enjoy their very traditional and expansive menu!!! We ordered several items, all of which were wonderful. Not a single dish left the table with food on it! Even better the gentleman serving us was super friendly, attentive and had great conversations with us throughout our meal. A truly enjoyable evening while in town for the game so, so worth the 15 minute drive to Shadyside! P.S. sorry no pics, food was to good to even think of stopping long enough to take pictures!“
“I visited a few times while working over at Allegheny Commons apartment complex.I got the General Tsos lunch with Pork fried rice. For 8 dollars and some change you can't beat it! Perfect amount of food and it always comes out nice and hot! I didn't call ahead of time but usually only had to wait about 10 mins to get my food. Service was acceptable. If you're lookin for reasonably priced and quick takeout food for lunch, this is the place to go!“
“Very nice experience for lunch. We chose the beef Shabu Shabu meal. Delicious. Next time I would ask for a bowl to eat out of instead of a plate- that's a me thing not a Somo thing. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back to try the sushi!“
“Consistent food quality, which is pretty good.Consistent wait time (usually 5 minutes longer than told).Price wise, they are on the higher end of average, but as stated....consistent.This place is in the regular rotation of take out for me, so no complaints.“
“The food was extremely good. I believe nearly everything we ordered (Fried Momo, Chicken Datsi, Lamb Thali) seemed to have had some curry in it and it was the best, most unique food I have had in a long time. Portions were small for the price but the food was excellent. I would recommend trying the chicken or beef in the Thali as the lamb was not as tender as beef usually is and the chicken was excellent in the Datsi so I imagine either would leave one with a slightly better experience than the lamb. It was not disappointing enough to me to drop any stars off the review but I just thought others might like to know.“
“Absolutely delicious!! Excellent food. Prepared perfectly. We had the egg roll (shrimp & pork filling), California rolls, shrimp dumpling, shanghai soup dumplings and shrimp lo mein. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The service is impeccably professional and kind.“
“We had our Christmas luncheon here. I was impressed! Friendly staff and waitress was excellent. We were a table of 11. Food was delicious. Must get an egg roll. Best I have had and I'm 64. I can not recommend Osaka highly enough. Prices are reasonable.“
“I think this place is actually quite underrated! They specialize in Cantonese food, and some of the menu items are truly unique. I have tried a few of their dinners, and everything has been pretty satisfactory. A few days ago, I went and just got a little snack from them.I tried the flowing egg sugar buns. They were actually very tasty as well. Not incredibly sweet, but still very flavorful. Filled with a ton of the sweet paste on the inside. I’ve had this from a few places, and this has been one of my favorite versions. Tons of filling too! Solid portions, okay prices. All in all, I think this place is often overlooked, but it’s quite good! Very solid deal for the portions and unique items. I would recommend it!Vegetarian options: Traditional Cantonese vegetarian meals“
“We picked up an entree to share and were definitely satisfied. It's pricier than what I normally go for but the portion justifies it; one person could probably get two or three meals out of it. And a hearty amount of sauce meant I had some leftovers to cook with later in the week.My main quibble is that the sesame chicken's breading did not stand up to that much sauce on the ride home, so it wasn't contributing much to the taste or texture.“
“I visited this restaurant with 9 other ladies. We all enjoyed the the food that we had. Except, I personally did have sushi as my appetizer. I would not order sushi there again, I wasn't impressed. The one thing that impressed me the most was the efficiency of our waitress. She never skipped a beat and we had everything that we asked for just as we were needing it.Wheelchair accessibility: Our party did have a woman in a wheelchair and we had absolutely no problem getting into the restaurant and having her seated.“
“I ordered from here last Friday Night for my whole family and they are already begging me to go back this week. The employees we're very welcoming and my order was prepared on time and most of all CORRECTLY! The food was amazing and my kids thought so too. We will definitely be Rice King regulars from now on!“
“Overall the food was good, but the customer service was outstanding. They were friendly, helpful and explained items on the menu in detail. Maybe I just expected more based on what family members had told me. When in town again I will give it another shot.“
“6/1/23 Very happy with this place Placed my order at 6:30 pm, delivered 16 minutes later. Friendly driver and the Szechuan the chicken was smoking hot. Sweet & Sour Chicken was also lightly fried- golden brow puffs of chicken. like funnel cake batter.“
“I had the green curry, and I am impressed! It looks beautiful and it tastes delicious. My boyfriend had general tsos which was also very very good. The service and fast and pleasant. The restaurant is very clean and decorated nice. We will be back!“
“I loved this place so much, and I find myself often thinking about their food when I'm hungry. I just wish they weren't exclusively in the mall since I just find it awkward to venture there to grab their food. Even writing this is making me hungry for the noodle there, I just can't get enough of this place! The workers are always friendly and the service is wonderful. More people should give their little shop a try, and I'm regretful I hadn't tried them sooner.“
“Food came hot and serving sizes was larger than I expected. I tried this Mushrooms Egg Fu Yung, Beth had Pork Lol Me in and her son had the steamed dumplings. Their menu is huge with many options too.Parking: Parking spaces on street are limited, some are meter paid. Although if you are able to walk short distance, there's parking in lower lot.“
“My favorite for Chinese food in Crafton. Today I am having the Pork Fried Rice and Cheese Wontons. I always order Cheese Wontons! If you have a small order under $10, you'll need cash. There are 3 different banks and a grocery store in the plaza if you don't have cash.“
“Wow! This gem has been down the street and I so regret not trying it sooner! The service was amazing, the food was probably the best Chinese I’ve ever had, and it was very reasonably priced. My husband and I ordered 2 vegetable egg rolls and they were so crunchy and delicious, orange chicken which honestly why have I never had orange chicken where you can taste orange!? So good with a hint of spice. The beef and broccoli and the broccoli was so fresh, and the combination low mein with chicken shrimp and pork that was perfect. There is enough food for leftovers and I love that I’ve found a go to spot. Added bonus! Our food was ready in 30min! 1000000% would recommend.“
“I came here to try the peking duck and I have got to say it was one of the best I have had in the area so far. I got the full duck, skin and meat (I have been to some places that only give you part of a duck and hardly any skin) not only that but I got plenty of pancakes, green onion, cucumber, and hoisin. There was easily enough for 4 meals, since I was eating alone. It only took about 30 minutes for them to prepare the duck which is pretty good and average for this kind of meal. The service was great, I am sad I wasn't able to dine in but I definitely understand.Next time I am in the area I am definitely returning not only to get the peking duck but to try more of the meal. I am throughly impressed with this restaurant and can't wait to return.“
“My food is always hot. The customer service is A1. I even messed up an order & the daughter & mom was so nice fixing what I was trying to order in the first place. The food has flavor it doesn’t taste bland. Just all around wonderful food spot.Parking: The plaza is small but I’m always able to pick up my food with any problem“
“This is honestly one of my favorite restaurants in Oakland. I was so sad when the flagship location in Squirrel Hill closed but so happy I can still pick up when I'm in the mood. The staff is always super nice and the foot is delicious. The Taiwanese sausage over rice is a fave of mine.“
“One of the go to spots on campus. They give you a lot of food. The staff is nice. Open at pretty good hours, and they have boba. My only complaint is what others are saying, the food is greasy. Sometimes it's okay but there are times I've gotten stomach aches from eating here.“
“While visiting the area for work I came here as I saw they had authentic Szechuan dishes on their menu. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the décor is unlike most other Chinese restaurants, as it's really nice inside. I started with their egg drop soup, which was tasty, with a hint of sesame oil. Next up was their spicy garlic cucumbers, which had a nice kick to them, but weren't spicy. The cucumbers were fresh and there were a lot in the bowl; they tasted even better with a splash of Kikoman on them! The next thing I had was their scallion pancakes - They were the proper thickness and offered a nice crips. The scallion flavor in them was prevalent and they were really good, especially with the black garlic vinegar dipping sauce. Entrée was their cumin beef, with fried rice. The fried rice had egg, but no veggies and it tasted good. The cumin beef was pretty decent, but far from the best flavor of cumin dry wok'd Szechuan food I've ever enjoyed. The veggies were sliced too big and so was the garlic; I prefer thinly sliced garlic, it works so much better in the wok and then tastes great, but bigger chunks of garlic aren't very good in this dish. The beef was tender though. Wasn't very spicy, not as spicy as I'm used to from this dish. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and experience here and would return.“
“I've ordered from Hunan Cafe twice now and say that the food is excellent. I've been extremely impressed with the fresh ingredients, flavors, and quality of the food. Nothing is greasy or overcooked. The Singapore style noodles are very good, and the chicken corn soup is the best I've ever had.“
“The food is always a 10/10. There are so many options on the menu, especially for vegetarians/vegans. My favorite vegetarian sushi is the classic avocado roll and the sweet potato tempura roll! Definitely don’t hesitate to plan your trip here.Vegetarian options: Most dishes offer tofu as a protein choice. They also have many sushi rolls without meat/fish. For appetizers, most are vegetarian but one of my favorites is the steamed veggie dumplings!Dietary restrictions: There are many dishes already prepared vegan/vegetarian, but most dishes can be modified as such. They also have great options for anyone following a gluten free diet.“
“Love it. Very quaint and welcoming atmosphere. My best friend used to dine here in the 90s with her grandparents and was always a favorite ❤️ Last year, we decided to make Chan’s Tea House an annual tradition every year when she visits from out out of town. Delicious food and wonderful service. The Bubble Tea is such a bonus!! We will return.“
“VERY GOOD FOOD... WE HAVE BEEN ORDERING HERE FOR YEARS AND NEVER LEFT A REVIEW.... EGG FOO YOUNG IS GREAT ALL THE FRIED RICE IS GOOD AND HAVE A VERY DISTINCT WOK FLAVOR LIKE AN OLD SEASONED CAST IRON EGG ROLLS SPRING ROLLS CRAB RANGOONS DUMPLINGS ITS ALL GOOD WE ORDER FROM HERE ALOT AND ONLY HAD 1 PROBLEM WICH WAS FIXED AND TAKEN CARE OF.... NO1 KITCHEN IS THE BEST IN THIS AREA HANDS DOWN“
“I ordered dumplings, crunchy roll, and hot&sour soup- I LOVE how the dumplings were authentic and not those cheap pot stickers that too many places serve anymore. Soup was on the thicker side but great flavor, crunchy roll was perfect! Very clean and peaceful in Azan Wok.“
“Excellent food. Pho is great and they have a wide variety as well as other items. The Banh Mi is also very very good. This place can get very very busy with both dine in and a lot of takeout so service can be a little slow but if you have the time it is well worth “
“I ordered the General Tso’s Chicken and Hot n Sour soup. The food was very good. The General Tso’s was actually spicy and not overly sweet and the soup was spicy and very good. They actually give you crispy noodles with the soup. I had the lunch portion and was very impressed. Another best kept secret.I highly recommend Zhen Choo.“
“Parking and ambience all good . For food , I had ordered kadhai Paneer, Medu Vada and Idli and Garlic Naan . Kadhai paneer was good, quantity was sufficient , but Garlic Naan was horrible . It’s one of the packed package which is available in market . They just warmed it and provided . Medu wada was not bad but I like the one from Chutney better . Idli was good but coconut chutney was not that great , good enough. Over all , I will order again but will never order any bread item from Mintt.“
“Best Dumplings in the area if you’re looking for good American Chinese food. Sweet and sour chicken is always crispy and delicious. Try dipping it in the dumpling sauce, does not disappoint. Very good portions. Solid flavor on the General Tso’s and the Shrimp and Broccoli as well. Would recommend picking it up yourself for maximum freshness. The staff is always super polite and accommodating“
“I've ordered takeout from Katana a handful of times, and my experience has always been a good one. The food is fresh, hot, and very tasty. The Crispy Roll is my favorite sushi item. Try adding asparagus to it, and thank me later :) The hibachi is very flavorful, and portions are good. Some highlights were the chicken and steak hibachi, and the chicken katsu. If you try it you won't be disappointed!“
“First time I ordered & will definitely order again! House fried rice & chicken Szechuan was deeeelish! The protein combo in the rice was great - I'm not a huge shrimp or pork fan but there was a perfect of each so that I got a taste of all without one overpowering another. The chicken and veggies was fantastic - veggies still crisp! I'll be back!“
“The amount of food we were given for 3 people was outstanding. The quality of the food was far superior to most restaurants. We ordered the hot pot buffet and we all left stuffed to the gills with beef, fish, shrimp, tripe, mushrooms, seaweed, noodles, potatoes, lotus root, pork and more! The spicy soup base was my favorite, I found the white base to be too bland for me but that doesn't mean it wasn't delicious in its own way! If you don't handle chopsticks well, don't be afraid to ask for a fork. My husband broke his hand and cannot use chopsticks, they were happy to give him a fork. The boba tea was refreshing and delicious. We will definitely be back!“
“Authentic Chinese food, very clean, nice female owner with superb and pleasant waiters. You can always ask for something off of the menu like steamed vegetables with chicken. Egg drop soup and tea. I had a great meal, the best steamed vegetables and chicken. Lots of food, no grease. Excellent rice. They have an extensive menu of "real" Chinese food.“
“Food is delicious. Staff is hospitable and professional. Place is very clean including the restrooms.Parking: Parking lot down the street if you can't park on the street. After a certain time, parking is free in that lot. We've had no issues finding someplace close to park.“
“Pretty good Chinese spot in Penn Hills. We got it delivered and it came fresh & hot. The crab rangoons were really good. I had the General Tso's and it was good but the meat was a little tough. They have really great pricing compared to other places nearby. Overall would probably order again.“
“Solid American-style Chinese food, good quantity for the price and pretty fast, too. Chicken was packed into the tray and I was happy to find some meaty broccoli crowns, too, stems and all.The sauces could use a little tweaking. Didn't get a lot of citrus flavor from the orange chicken unless I spooned out a big glob of sauce or a piece of peel; otherwise, it didn't taste that different from my partner's sesame chicken.“
“I have been dining here since at least about 2013 and I honestly enjoy my experience each and every time. Ten years later, and now a vegan, I order the “hot pepper tofu”, a variation of a go-to chicken dish that reminds why I continue to make the trek or pilgrimage to this day. Savory onions, heat from jalapeños, and sweet while comfortably searing chili sauce all come together for what I would probably have down for breakfast through dinner. Perfecting this at home might be okay for my wallet but I would still be searching for their friendly faces and comfortable, laidback atmosphere. Well done China Wok ✌️“
“One of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh!! As someone who grew up eating homemade Chinese dumplings, this place reminds me so much of home— the dumplings are incredibly authentic, fresh, and delicious. My favorite is the spicy hot oil sesame dumplings. The service is also exceptional. Everyone, from the chef to the manager to the servers, is very kind, attentive, and lovely to talk to. It’s clear that every dumpling is prepared and served with care and love!“
