One of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh!! As someone who grew up eating homemade Chinese dumplings, this place reminds me so much of home— the dumplings are incredibly authentic, fresh, and delicious. My favorite is the spicy hot oil sesame dumplings. The service is also exceptional. Everyone, from the chef to the manager to the servers, is very kind, attentive, and lovely to talk to. It’s clear that every dumpling is prepared and served with care and love!
We decided to visit Amazing Dumplings tonight at the recommendation of a friend! They have a great location right on Forbes Ave in squirrel Hill! It was not super busy at 5pm on a Friday night, though it did seem like they were getting a good number of takeout orders. Had the kung pao chicken dumpling and the shrimp tempura. The tempura batter was nice and crispy but unlike the Japanese tempura batter but still very tasty. The dumplings were soft and the filling was spicy and umami. It went with the dipping sauce well.
