My bf and I went to Squirrel Hill for dinner and being a hot day, we were looking for some dessert to cool us down. We noticed so many people walking around with cups of Italian ice and custard from Rita's, so we decided to give it a try. Ordering is all done through a counter, so it's very straightforward. Amazing ice cream and better service! I had the chocolate and the coffee custard. The coffee flavor was a little too sweet to my liking but the chocolate custard was so rich and flavorful.The staff was incredibly helpful. I’d go back again just to have a conversation with them. Is there much to this place? Not really. But if you're walking around the area on a warm, sunny day, nothing tops a gelati from Rita's.
